Super Size Me
(2004)

A "documentary" about an alcoholic eating junk food
As the title states, Morgan Spurlock was an alcoholic when he made this stupid documentary. He outright lied about his lifestyle. None of what he experienced has been duplicated because he drinking during the entire film while portraying himself as a healthy person. While eating junk food is certainly not healthy, it's nowhere near as dangerous as this junk documentary makes it out to be. The sad part is this documentary is still being shown at schools as factual without any of the context that an alcoholic was destroying his health way before he made this film. Ao go have a big Mac and enjoy yourself.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV
(2024)

A serious topic done horribly
Ok so is Dan Schneider a bad person? Yeah he probably is. But this entire "documentary" is long on accusations but woefully short of proof. The most serious actual crime had absolutely nothing to do with Dan. Child actors have a long history of dysfunctional lives. Yes the industry chews people up and pits them out but again nothing to do with Dan. Essentially this "documentary" is a group of former child actors trying to blame one person for their lack of success in the industry and life. Very few talk about their parents (who pimped their children out at a young age) who they really should be blaming for where they ended up in life. Basically this was a complete waste of time watching this "documentary".

Road House
(2024)

Didn't think I would like it but....
So to start I love the original Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. So I really didn't think would like the remake, but dang this was actually really good. The story is different enough to be interesting while staying pretty loyal to the original movie. Jake Gyellenhaal makes a believable Dalton while taking the character in a modern direction. He kinda gave me Deadpool vibes being such a smartass. The fighting was cool but maybe overdone. I really enjoyed the whole island setting and the music in the roadhouse was really cool. The story itself is pretty shallow and predictable (but so was the original) but with enough twists to keep it interesting. My only real complaint is Conor McGregor comes off like a steroid freak and way over the top. But if you are a fan of the original Roadhouse movie you will like this one too.

James May: Our Man in...: Calamari
(2024)
Episode 3, Season 3

One of the largest countries gets 3 episodes?
I absolutely loved the first two installments of the series but this one is very disappointing, and the last episode even more so. How do you take one of the most colorful cultures the world has ever known and only give it three measly hours of nonsense? This final episode felt like a bad sitcom more than a factual travel show. In Japan and Italy you really get to learn about the culture, but India gets jokes and almost no actual travel. On the Amazon description it says Jame's greatest adventure. Well what we got was a horrible let down. I really hope there is another installment to the series, and I hope it can recapture the magic of the first two. As for this installment, you owe India an apology.

Blue Beetle
(2023)

The worst "super hero" movie ever
So to start with the good, the CGI is ok and well that's about it. The story is boring and predictable. The humor is just plain and stupid. The characters are one dimensional. The acting is completely phoned in. I love action and sci-fi movies, but this one is just horrible. By the time the movie was half over (which btw the run time is way too long) I was regretting my decision to watch this garbage. I would really like to know how the producers thought this was worth releasing. The story has all the potential but this falls so short of what it should have been. I'm sorry to trash it so hard, but if anything I've been too easy on this movie.

Pamela, a Love Story
(2023)

Like watching a slow trainwreck
I truly feel sorry for Pamela, but we have seen this story before. This documentary reminds me so much of the Chyna doc. This is supposed to show how "empowered" she is, but it really shows what an absolute trainwreck her life has been. So if you like exploitation documentaries about sad people destroying their lives then this is for you. I found it shallow as she tries to justify everything. I am really struggling to fill all the required characters as there just isn't much other than sex that fills this documentary. Sorry for the rambling review but I would say avoid this horrible documentary.

Flight/Risk
(2022)

Solid documentary that's gets itself distracted
The story of the 737max is a definitely a cautionary tale for all manufacturer's to learn. Boeing got itself lost in a battle with Airbus and made tragic mistakes. Had this documentary focused solely on those mistakes and people who lost loved ones as result, it would have been a powerful and honest film. Unfortunately the director and producer couldn't help himself and let his leftist anti capitalism seep through. This isn't a failure of capitalism, but a failure of upper management to listen to their people and the failure of the FAA to provide oversight. This film is definitely worth watching, just a shame for what it could have been.....

Untold: Operation Flagrant Foul
(2022)
Episode 4, Season 2

A crook working for a bigger crook
Well done documentary about a crooked official working for a league of crooks. My main takeaway is confirmation that the NBA is the dirtiest league in all of professional sports. David Stern was a master manipulator who blatantly fixed games to get the best results. If you are a diehard NBA fan don't watch this, because it show you are just watching basketball's equivalent of the wwe. The producers do a really good job of showing just how dirty everyone, including David Stern, truly was in this era. Now that the NBA and other leagues have embraced legal sports gambling, the game fixing is going to get worse.

Frasier: Enemy at the Gate
(2002)
Episode 2, Season 10

The worst episode
I love Frasier, but this episode is just horrible. It is just ridiculous and shows a selfishness that is not funny or entertaining, just annoying. It's the one time that Frasier's character flaws are inexcusable.

Attica
(2021)

The historical footage saves this film to a point
I have to admit I'm conflicted about this documentary. It is very powerful and definitely worth watching, but it is extremely one sided. It might be that none of the government officials wanted to be interviewed, but it would have brought more balance to the film. Overall it is very much worth watching.

Reacher
(2022)

So much better than the movies
Has the feel of the books. This going to be a mst watch for me as soon as the new episodes come out. Alan Ritchson is the living embodiment of Jack Reacher. If you like the book series you will love the series.

Loose Cannons
(1990)

Not everyone's cup of tea
This is a quirky movie that not everyone is going to like, but I really enjoy it. Dan Aykroyd and Dom DeLuise are so funny, especially the car chase scene. Gene Hackman plays a great straight man. I get the negative reviews, but if you like quirky comedies this is for you.

King Richard
(2021)

An hour too long
As a sports fan I love biopics, but this one is way too long and disjointed. Will Smith mails in a totally uninspired performance. Could have been magical but ends up sub par.

FBI: International: The Edge
(2021)
Episode 2, Season 1

Parental alienation
So the FBI refuses to arrest a woman for kidnapping her child and taking him to Budapest but arrested American citizen in Budapest for trying to get his son back. To justify this the writers then make the father and abusive father in order to justify the parental alienation and kidnapping.

Iran The Blade Barkley 5th King
(2018)

The Blade deserves so much better than this....
The video "quality" looks as though someone filmed this with a camcorder. The audio sounds like a bad cellphone call. And the computer graphics are just laughable. It's really sad because Iran Barkley was one of the best in the late 80's.

Passport to the World: Route 66
(2019)

Not terrible.....
Certainly not a very detailed look at route 66. Missed a lot just here in Oklahoma, didn't mention Tulsa at all. Not terrible but there are far better route 66 documentaries out there.

The Three Musketeers
(1993)

Not faithful to the book but still fun
A very light-hearted adventure. The cast is excellent and story fast-paced. Great family movie.

You Had Me at Aloha
(2021)

So stupid
It is hard to standout in Hallmark's romance movies, but this one does for all the wrong reasons. This paint by numbers movie is dull, predictable, and has so many unrealistic scenes that it literally insults your intelligence.

The Kominsky Method
(2018)

Fantastic
The funniest show Netflix has ever done period! Geriatric Beavis and Butt-Head.

Without Remorse
(2021)

Clancy is spinning in his grave
This is an utterly embarrassing interpretation of the book. Literally nothing is right except a few of the names. Would have been a five star movie without the Clancy name connection.

Bridgerton
(2020)

Dear God make it stop
This show is so bland it should be in black and white. The characters have no...well character. They are dull and lifeless. I don't understand how the producers looked at the final cut of the first episode and thought "yes this is a winner".

For the People: This Is America
(2019)
Episode 2, Season 2

When one episode kills an entire series
This episode is so full of lies and blatant anti-american rhetoric it literally killed the series.

For the People
(2018)

Was a fan, but.....
Really enjoyed the first season, the interaction between the young prosecutors and public defenders was well written. However the second season has been a complete disappoinment, with the final straw for me being the second episode demonizing ICE. It has turn into the typical liberal drivel.
