NASCAR: Full Speed
(2024)

An attempt to recreate magic
It's clear it's supposed to be a repeat of the success of drive to survive. Just simply doesn't have the same magic, it looks to appeal to the American NASCAR audience but not quite anyone else.

I tried to watch it as an Australian, who's never really seen NASCAR as interesting and thought it may be fun to see what it's all about. It's very American, entertaining but just not as amazing as other motorsports. It's good to see what happens behind closed doors and it's made and produced well despite missing the mark to appeal to outsiders like drive to survive does. Not the worst but not close to the best.

The Talos Principle 2
(2023)

Great narrative adventure
This is a brilliantly assembled game, with an interesting narrative and puzzles. Although some of the voice acting seemed unnecessary. Robots don't need accents, I get that they want to use accents for narrative purposes but the character Doge (666) has an "Australian" accent and as an Australian it made me feel sick. Why add this really bad over the top "Americanised" version of Australian accent when they could've just used the voice actors real accent. No one talks like that in Australia. Please for the love of all Australians use an Australian to do our accent. It's always bad when it's not done correctly.

The Last of Us
(2023)

Incredible video game adaptation
As someone who doesn't care for the horror genre normally, but loves video games. I LOVED IT! Due to all the hype I gave the Part 1 game a go. I loved the game. Started Part 2 and watch the first season. This is a great way to adapt such a well written game, take the base elements of the game and change it in a valuable way to suit the Tv show much better. It was incredibly well done and in fact improves the story in ways the game probably couldn't be done. Developing characters backstory better and giving you more to love. Bill was obviously gay in the game but only touched on barely because of the magazine Ellie stole from him. Building the tiny narrative and created a story that expanded and gave you better insights to the characters. This is how video game adaptation should be done. I wish we saw more like this and can't wait for season 2.

The Matrix Resurrections
(2021)

It's a new story
I'll start with, think of the new Star Wars Episodes. Unfortunately fans who love Episode 4-6 don't love the new 7-9 and are overwhelmed and hate them. This movie yes does seem like it was forced upon the writers. But know it is a new story and you need to go into it with that knowledge. Yes you need to know the original trilogy to watch, but is Simulation version 2.0. Do not judge it as a continuation, judge it as a new movie. It's cleverly written but does have its negatives. But overall I felt it wasn't a bad movie that has been unfairly judged by people comparing it to the originals. Don't do this.

Boo, Bitch
(2022)

Not for everyone
It's funny in a dark sort of humour, I enjoyed it even with the typical teen drama. But it was very cleverly written so you know what's happening even when it's not.

The Witcher
(2019)

Brilliant Adaptation
Having never read the books, but playing the games. It has to be the best video game adaptation. But in saying that it simply is not it is an adaptation of the books. Yes things line up with the game as it itself is an adaptation. It is brilliantly written and designed, many of the major cast were cast well but unfortunately there is only one bad cast choice as they simply do not make sense when it comes to the origin of the books. I'm all for racial equality but unfortunately sometimes it changes the narrative when done poorly.

Running for Grace
(2018)

Not just a love story
The story is well written, it's not just a story of forbidden love. It is a story of unconditional love for his son.
