Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake
(2022)

Interesting!
I love an adventure as the next person buy you have to wonder mindset of individuals who knowing there was a bad earthquake the year before, did not think to research more about the regularity of these.

As for the individuals interviewed, my thoughts:- The Iranian lady was over dramatic. Went from being quiet to extreme sport adventure, trying to prove what, only she knows. The Israeli's, was not surprised at their actions, we see these too many times, childish, arrogant and entitlement. Then the American who would rather die doing something adventurous than everyday chore. Well, he soon saw sense. Hope this was a lesson to all involved. It is the Nepalese I truly felt for, so sad.

Intrusion
(2021)

Plot was painfully unrealistic!
From the character to things done, one wonders the naivety of the writer as there is no sense of street smart in the wife. Does things no one especially, being non-white, would do in a small town or when the person you suspect is present. For a counsellor, does not have much of common sense. Terrible film overall.

Connecting...
(2020)

Loving It.
Not a lot on tv these days with everything same but different title. Stumbled upon this and loving it as I find it refreshing and so our lives right now.

Kings of Jo'burg
(2020)

Loved it!
Refreshing seeing an all African cast in a quality shot movie.

Dirty John
(2018)

Unsure!
First season was ok although difficult to relate to. Could understand trying to find love but everything else seemed unrealistic especially, for the short duration in which everything was meant to have happened. Season two started well then got frustrating for me as could not understand how any woman would waste their life chasing something that was already finished to extent of losing focus on what was meant to be priority. Sure, can understand anger of having supported someone only to be dumped but to spend so many years of wasted time, seriously!

Da 5 Bloods
(2020)

Not Disappointed
Like with Lee's films, always raw and unapologetic in its storytelling.

Mommy's Little Angel
(2018)

Seriously!!
Found it hard to believe that a child can do all these whilst grown folks take it. Yeah, right!!

Ballers
(2015)

Not Bad!!
I felt I could predict what was to come seeing we see ballers lives play out in real life anyways but, some surprises. As with all HBO programs, seems there always has to be the gratuitous sex scenes in every episode which is getting a tad annoying and putting me off HBO shows altogether. Besides that, not a bad show and worth watching!!

Power
(2014)

Mixed Bag of Surprises
Finally, able to catch up on all my recordings of this show. I was actually surprised and loved the twists and turns. The storyline opens up a lot of discourse about corruption in every facet of life and must commend the writers for being able to bring all these to the table.

Despite these, I found there was way too much sex scenes than necessary and chalked these down to laziness on the directors part after all, this ain't no porn!! On many occasions, I wondered why there was a need for this in a scene other than a director who was obsessed with sex. Not a prude but too much of it took away from message being conveyed in those scenes.

A lot of violence also but love season four as this is more on the intellect than previous gratuitous silliness.

Overall, I give it a 7 out of 10 for this and could have scored better but writing in many episodes, let it down.

Unleashing Mr. Darcy
(2016)

Unleashing Bad Acting!!
With a title like that, I was expecting something British, quirky, funny and most importantly, with much better actors but what I got instead, was very poor acting all around that I had to switch off after fifteen minutes it really made you cringe. I got to wonder who the casting director was as this was wrong all the way through. I could almost forgive the pick for Mr Darcy as he was good looking but besides that, entire acting was too hammy for my taste as was the storyline. I could not believe this was made in 2016 as it is not believable in this time and age. The main character, Cindy Busby's acting in my opinion, was the worst. I have never seen her in anything and intend avoiding whatever she is in, sub par acting!!

Magic Mike
(2012)

Oh dear!!
I saw the film for the first time on TV yesterday and was truly shocked, especially, after all the hype over the years. What was equally more shocking was seeing Matthew and Adam Rodriguez being a part of this. There was no clear story line and all the stripping, well, did not do it for me and I am guessing that was the reason the film did so well as women will pay for anything with good looking men in it good or bad as in this case. Channing is a dancer and not an actor in my opinion as he always comes across as too wooden. Besides the odd quips from McConnaughey, rest of the cast were also wooden and even more so with Olivia's character, boy was she wooden. Had to stop watching mid-way as it made no sense!! There are so many great actors out there and studios should move away from the lazy business model of using non actors or people who cannot act but good looking as this formula gets old very quickly.
