Die Blechtrommel
(1979)

Please, Please DO NOT WATCH THIS !!!! I BEG YOU !!!!
I AM HELPLESS !!!! I do not know what else to say about this disgusting, unimaginable piece of human feces than "please save your time, your brain energy or whatever you might call it", and never ever watch this. If you just bought the DVD, go burn it. If you like WW2 Movies, get yourself a copy of "Saving Private Ryan", if you need to be reminded of how cruel humans can be to others in total disrespect of life, love, and anything that matters to most of us today, "The Pianist" is a wonderful, yet very disturbing piece of Art, as it is "Schindlers List". If you like good Fantasy Stories, maybe have some episodes of "Twin Peaks". Drama: "Requiem for a Dream" is A MASTERPIECE !!! And if it so happens that you are an absolutely devoted fan of deep-brain-cell-destruction-while-in-a-totally-drunken-state-of-mind, a copy of jackass, jackass the movie 1,2 or (even 3 someday?) might be your choice of the moment. All of the above are movies or series that I enjoyed watching a lot, depending on whether being up for something intelligent, entertaining, sad, or just stupid time-wasting. But " Die Blechtrommel" is just nothing . No Sense. No enjoying. No crying. No nothing. Please burn every copy. It is more senseless than watching 2 hours of your local station's test signal or a digitally transmitted picture of a fireplace. My only relief right now would be to see the people mainly responsible for that movie burn in the just mentioned place right now, really. Or at least in a nice and secure place where they are being helped to cure their diseases.

Happiness
(1998)

Not funny, Just sad and awful
That is by far the most awful movie I've ever seen. I admit it takes something to bring to life such a perfect picture of perversion and sickness, but for what ? Seeing that movie is like watching a pile of crap and enjoying its smell for more than 2 hours. That one leaves nothing but a bad taste in your mouth, and the wish to forget about it asap. Where "American Beauty" had something strange but still sympathetic, this one has got nothing. It is just a picture of the scum of some sick and frustrated dude's mind, the picture the director is painting here is worse than the most perverted mind could ever imagine. That movie doesn't do any good in any way. The only thing one has to admit is the incredible sickness and unhappiness, the incredible frustration that the characters of that story live in, and how that is brought to the viewer by the movie. But it still was one of the most awful movies I've ever seen in my whole life, and that comes from a guy who loved "twin peaks", "american beauty", and most admired the brutality of schindler's list, because at least in that movie there was a sense, the sense of showing people how to make the future better than the past, but "Happiness" erases all hope to make anything better, it's just a story of a bunch of people facing nothing but the absolute bottom of social life, and a director who himself seems to enjoy stirring in human excrement up to the very last detail.

My respect to the actors, though. Must have taken a lot, especially to the children playing that hard stuff.

But why spent 2h15 just to see everything that makes you sad everyday anyway, that you will never be able to change and that is so unhappy that you would never even think about making fun of it ?

Terminator 2: Judgment Day
(1991)

The best pro-human and anti-war movie ever.
Sorry to all the folks that still consider that one a simple and dumb action movie, but you haven't got any idea of what this movie is about. In the year 2004 it still takes my breath how up-to-date and great in every detail this movie is.This is my all-time favourite, definitely. The actors do a perfect job, the story is ,apart from the time travel thing ,truely credible (and I am an IT professional),the action is great,I nearly crapped my pants when I saw the movie the first time when it came out(I was 20). And look at the message:why do we need machines to get to know how worthful human life is?Look where we are today?Everything depends on computers, internet, communication.Everything needs to be faster, more colorful, more tasty, more perfect and efficient, but does that bring us any benefit in the end? - Sorry, didn't mean to start any philosophical monologue here... To put it in a nutshell: To all the poor people who missed it in theaters : go and watch it!

Plan 9 from Outer Space
(1957)

Seeing the whole story around it,you must love it !!!
O.K.,I've just seen the movie "Ed Wood",listed currently in the best 250 of all time . Being listed there is a hard thing to reach as well as being listed in the worst 100 where "Plan 9" surely belongs ."Ed Wood" is all about a young wannabe-producer/director who is so fascinated and driven by the idea of producing movies that he does everything, sets every wheel in motion to make his dreams become reality, doing movies with a least-cost budget simply because he couldn't afford anything else, but he gave his whole heart to that movies and dedicated his whole life to them .

O. K. ---

Maybe that movie glorifies Ed Wood a bit.I don't know.Ed Wood is, by the way the director of "Plan 9".Having seen the above mentioned movie before, I just cannot help enjoying Plan 9. And, for the record , I was not LAUGHING about it , I have been SMILING nicely, about a film that has been done in a time when computer-effects were not yet invented, and, I enjoyed it. And there have been definitely worse movies.Maybe the director wasn't so bad at all but simply didn't have the money to make it better, maybe he had the talent to do better but not alone as writer, producer, director? At least he DID a movie. And I don't know whether I might be childish here, but that guy at least did what he wanted to do ,and here we are , 50 years later, still discussing his movie. The keyword is fantasy. If you put a little fantasy into the story , you might as well believe in it. A book doesn't give you any special effects at all and you can still enjoy it, can't you??? On the other hand, if you are so cool and so good in discovering any movies weakness and every leak of special effects that even the major 21st century Hollywood movies hardly get to you anymore, you will surely find a lot to complain about in this one. Or you can simply take it as an eyewitness of a time, long time gone, when life wasn't so "perfect" and peoples' brains weren't so oversaturated yet, that some guys still went to cinemas to see flying saucers...
