Chasing Life
(2014)

Reality without the "drama"
If anyone thinks any part of my review is insensitive, I have the right to laff, joke, cry, whatever. Almost one year ago, I got the C word. Nobody called me a c**t (u could crucify me for that word, but I didn't really use it} but they did tell me I had cancer. Anyways, the emotional roller coaster was non-stop. There is denial, grief, despair, hope, acceptance .... all in a moment, and that moment never stops, but repeats. There is no "ordinary" type of this disease, or to the reaction any person has to hearing they have it. That said: I liked it, it showed one persons being floored with the initial news and looking towards what will come with anxiety. It doesn't make light of her illness and I especially like the way she dealt with telling friends and family, or not telling them. The characters all seem to have some great prospects to improve on an already good performance. The show has a huge range of directions it can go, hopefully without getting too down and drama filled, but with reality. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next, which is the basis of a great series. I missed this completely, probably because the C word scared the heck out of me before I met it head on. It caught my interest, surprised me, and I look forward to seeing all I missed. The "drama" is there, that's reality, but there is so much more. There is always that joke, that hope, that moment when you laff. This show seems to convey that, and I like it.

K-9 Adventures: A Christmas Tale
(2013)

Surprisingly good
I didn't expect much, just a children's movie. I have to admit part of the reason I watched it is my dog's name is Scooter, and the dog in the movie is named Scoot. You get the idea the dog goes through a lot but (good for the little kids) there are no bleeding wounds or anything. The kids are good actors for their age. The criminals are sinister without being too scary. I got a "christmasy" feel from it that families would enjoy even with smaller toddlers, while the older kids may sneer at some aspects, it is geared for all ages. It has the good ending that you want even with a little twist. The dog is a good actor, and I hope he got a big bone for his role. My nieces and nephews all have kids of their own these days and I would recommend this for a holiday family night.

Proof Is In The Reviews
They say this has happened over 70 times, I believe it. There are extremely stupid people in this world, some work at fast food joints and others are right beside you, at your work, as you walk down the street, and even (as the proof shows) writing reviews saying this movie is "chilling and true".

Read all the reviews, and you will see some extremely stupid peoples thoughts on this subject. When they say "many of us might do the same thing", they are saying they have the IQ of a turnip. This might be a good comedy, right alongside "America's Stupidest Criminals" you could have "America's Stupidest Idiots" and it has nothing to do with where they work. The movie was not presented as a comedy so it failed miserably.

The movie goes terribly off-track into unbelievable when it shows so many people being so stupid. There are many idiots, but there is always 1 person in a crowd with an IQ in the double digits. That is all it would take for this to be over. That is why so many people couldn't sit through the entire stupid thing. The acting was OK, the writing (as I said) would have been OK for a comedy, but stupid as a drama. The attempt to make this movie as a chilling drama is, yes, chilling and terrifying.

The proof of how many stupid people there are in this world, is right there in the reviews, by those who thought this was a good movie.

Just my opinion.

Red Ridge
(2006)

Waste of time.
Quite possibly one of the stupidest movies ever made. The acting and story are terrible.

They portray Texas as the land where most men are in-bred hillbilly rapists, or drunks stumbling around, and women are kidnapped, raped and killed on a constant basis. Texas is just like the city, suburbs, or countryside where you live, there is just more of it. People are just like the people where you live, a few drunks, a few crazed psychos, and many decent friendly people. Texans pay the rent, work hard at 9 to 5 jobs, raise families and don't marry their sister or rape every woman they see.

So the only thing worse than this stupid boring movie is the stereotype they try to shove down your throat.

I don't know who wrote that great review but he must have been talking about some other movie.

This was just awful.

Cracks
(2009)

Better Than I Expected
I was pleasantly surprised by this. You get drawn into it whether you want to or not. Eva Green plays Miss G., a sophisticated and at that time quite liberal diving team coach at an all girls school. Her lesbian attractions to the girls are all subtle and downplayed, almost non-existent.

That all changes with the arrival of a new student, the aristocratic and beautiful Fiamma, who soon has Miss G all worked up. Without showing you a single sexual scene you know the sexually supercharged Miss G had her way with the young girl. Fiamma is enraged and Miss G's job is in jeopardy. The young girls who admired and loved the diving coach begin to look at her in a new light.

The ending is surprising, sad, and shocking.

I almost gave up on the film a few times at the slow parts, but was glad I didn't. It was really quite well done.

The Victim
(2011)

One of the worst
I've seen some terrible movies but this is one of the worst. The writing and acting are not even laughable, just bad beyond boring. There isn't enough nudity to make it worth watching, and Biehn's wife just looks like an ugly low-priced prostitute, so who wants to see her nude. There is nothing believable or gory about the violence, so even the violence junkies will be bored.

It was supposedly filmed in 12 days, it was probably written in 12 minutes, sorry to see Michael Biehn come to this.

He gave a relative a job as make-up artist or something, and gave himself and his wife a job acting in it, but he should have to pat people to watch it.
