Madras Cafe
(2013)

Wow!!!... Intellectual, Gallant and a Brave Factual work of Cinema... Caution: Miss This At Your Own Risk.!!!
It took 3 films and 7 years for Shoorjit Sircar (director) to deliver us with undoubtedly the best political thriller we can savor ourselves over a long time. 'Madras Cafe' is unarguably a gem of a movie that belongs to a rare genre of Bollywood cinema and deserves much more attention and applause than what it's being receiving.

The film is based on the backdrop of the Sri Lankan civil war in the late 1980's and early 1990's. It crosses its path with the plotting and execution of the then, Indian Prime Minster, whom we understandably can make out as Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. This film is so well crafted; it was not possible to find out a loophole in the entire plot.

John Abraham (Producer), who plays as a RAW Officer has done a 100% justice to his character Vikram Singh. There are noticeable fluent and honest performances from Siddharth Basu and Nargis Fakhri (Rockstar) on the other hand as well. If you want to know more about what's inside, you have to go and watch it yourself. Although just do a bit of homework on the Lankan civil war events that occurred in the late 80's. You would not regret it.

There was one drawback of the movie though. The movie had an end. But as they say 'All good things comes to an end'. So, I guess it to be that way.

Madras Café is a slap on the faces of all the directors and also on the ignorant and bogged down movie goers who are ardent worshipers of senseless commercial cinema that has plagued Hindi movie industry over the last year and half. John Abraham here has to be appreciated immensely for the effort he has put in out of the movie, since; there was no one who was ready to produce this movie earlier until he accepted this project to invest in.

Thank you John Abraham and Shoorjit Sircar.

Without any second thoughts, being thankful and much obliged with this Intelligent and brave cinema,.. I'm going with an esteem ★★★★★★★★★✩ (9.1/10) for Shoorjit Sircar's Madras Café. This one is a Must Watch.

Watch and BE ENLIGHTENED..

Cheers

Barfi!
(2012)

Pure , Honest and Innocent. Watch it for Ranbir and Priyanka...
It's a time in bollywood where we can see some 'heavy' commercial cinema being made such as 'Bol Bachhan', 'Ek Tha Tiger' where everyone are just talking about those 100 or 200 crore barriers. It's now a money grabbing fight for those hundered of crores. So why does 'Anurag Basu comes up with a movie like 'BARFI' where his lead actor or actress does not get to have any dialogues or lines to speak where they can get those hooting and the whistles from the public (like the usual 'one liners' which are religiously followed in Bollywood). Well, to tell you, it does not matter one bit because 'BARFI' beautifully manages to hold you despite being more of a 'Silent Cinema'.

BARFI is the story of a deaf and mute boy played by Ranbir Kapoor, through which Anurag Basu tries to gives us a message that, we all are surrounded with happinness all around us, it's just that we are strangled up so much in our daily life of artificial complexities that we don't recognize the little any tiny things that are capable of giving us immense happinness, peace and comfort. Priyanka Chopra's character too is one which is suffering from a disease known as 'Autism'. It's a disorder of one's neural system. Priyanka plays the character of the disabled girl with absolute brilliance where we can really feel for her. She easily manages to hold the audiences at their perfect nerve.

BARFI is mostly a 'Silent film, where almost the entire movie is in narrative, but, this really does not even slightly affects it in any bad way and therefore hats off to Anurag, Ranbir, Priyanka and Pritam (Music Director) for that. The movie has got arguably the most soulful music of 2012. A movie in which you don't have any verbal connection among the lead actors, the music does that part in a very justified manner. The bond of Ranbir and Priyanka gets strengthenend inside the minds of the audiences mainly because of the soulful music which sounds abolutely soothing to the ear.

Barfi may be a movie not for everyone. The movie has its certain drawbacks. There are quite a few moments in the film which tends to bore the audience at more than one instances. That said, it is certainly not a movie to miss out. There are a number of sequences where you will laugh your hearts out.

Talking about Ranbir Kapoor, his acting skills has polished up so vividly that its so much fascinating to see. Ever since 'Rocket Singh' his skill as an actor has improved a lot. Ranbir who was just awesome in 'Rockstar' , plays this deaf and mute character surprisingly with so much ease and charm. This is among the best performances given by both Ranbir as well as Priyanka recently. As far as Illeana D'Cruz, I really did'nt find her connecting with the plot of the film at any stage. Although, the screen presence of Illeana may be more than that of Priyanka but Priyanka easily takes you away with her innocence. There are times when you want to see more of Ranbir and Priyanka moments rather than with Illeana.

Barfi really could have been a great film but what kills it is its runtime. Its too long, which adds up the boredom and enables the audiences to yawn a bit too.

Well , Otherwise Barfi is certainly a must watch. You will not hate it ,though its not guaranteed that you will really love it. Decide for yourself, I liked it. Its a sincere effort from Anurag Basu and his team to present to the public one of the most pure and innocent film for 2012. Watch it for Ranbir and Priyanka.

Primal Fear
(1996)

INTENSE AND Terrific... A MUST WATCH.!!!
I recently saw 'Primal Fear' and tell you guys its an awesome movie. Though i'm not a 'Richard Gere' fan still i went for this one just for the fact that 'Edward Norton' was part of it.

This probably is the first movie for Edward and he really gives a terrific performance. I'm totally spell bounded by his performance. Well praising him this much might generate some kind of idea in your head for his character but i'll advice you to see this movie without knowing any idea about its story.

Its a total MUST Watch especially for all the Norton fans. I really became his fan since i saw his movie "Illusionist".

This movie will hold you tight at your seat and at times your heart beat might match step with that of the intense storyline. You would not like to shy away even for a moment.. just to sound a little buttery

This one ranks right among the top pile of the best Norton stack of best movies. A MUST MUST WATCH.

Raaz 3: The Third Dimension
(2012)

Let This Raaz be a Raaz.. Don't waste your time and money unraveling it....
Well its a yet another addition to the sad collection of the 'so called' bollywood Genre of horror and this time it's again from the "Bhatt Camp".

Mahesh Bhatt along with Vikram Bhatt have made it a pain stricken habit (especially for the general public), to pick up their used up movie titles which had earlier managed to make money and generate popularity, and cook it up with some really pathetic story and even more dreadful screenplay. The only innovation or change(as you would say) is that they don't forget to play with some numbers... i.e.. 1.....2.....and now a sick and forgettable ...3.

Raaz 3 written by Shagufta Rafique, who has constantly been an ardent team member for Mahesh and Vikram Bhatt and who also wrote Raaz(2002), messed it up this one..... Big time.

With Raaz 3, we see the leading lady of the original Raaz(2002), Bipasha Basu making her re-appearance. Bipasha dawns the character of a top actress whose only ambition in her life is to win the 'Best Actress' award. Well to tell you, she is a pro in her field of work... according to Mr. Rafique (The Writer).

But folks, how can you even think that she can fulfill her dreams so easily. Enters, Esha Gupta(Jannat 2), the new bollywood and this time, in the movie too. She swept away the award for which Bipasha was rooting for so Long........ BOOM.....And here kick starts your movie.... Raazzzzzz 3.

Bipasha later takes the help of black magic to ruin Esha's success and happiness and to regain for herself the lost glory. In between this magical Cat fight is stuck up our country's official 'serial kisser' , Mr. Hashmi, who was genuinely improving as an actor till the time he was away from the Bhatt camp. For Emraan you can just feel pity and nothing else. You can find him running behind Bipasha, Esha and the comical ghost at frequent intervals. Ohh Man... what more I can say.. huh.

The rest of the movie is a severe pain in the head as its a "3D"...... yes its a "3D". It's becoming an irritating trend in bollywood to make or release movies in 3D, just to add up more number of audience.

After a long list of previously "3D" titled movies, which were just edited in 3D, Raaz 3 actually is one of the movies that has been completely shot in 3D rather than just being edited in. Inspite of that fact the '3D sense' of the movie does not even slightly appear as any different from the pack of existing failures. A Big disappointment.

The Bhatt's are constantly using up their old titles and mixing them with numbers. Murder 1, 2...Jannat 1, 2....Jism 1, 2... and now Raaz 1,2 and 3. If you ask me frankly Raaz 3 seriously does not offer anything new or anything out of the box.., well it doesn't even try to.Be it dialogs, moments , all are stereotypical. "Contains Spoilers" For e.g.. A doctor yammering up "Mere 15 saal kay profession men Maine aisa case kabhi nahi dekha." Well Mr. Doc I am sorry for you because for past more than 20 years, all horror genuinely release bollywood movies have this same dialog by every doctor.

Take 10 kilos of crap and put on one side of the weighing machine's plate. Now, even if you write 'Raaz 3' on the other plate of the machine your 10 kilos of crap will shoot up. The movie is that heavy and premium quality of crap. I'm sure Vikram and Mahesh Bhatt had worked hard to build this piece of nonsense.

If you are planning to watch Raaz 3 in a theater then I strongly advice you to donate that money to the poor and needy. If you want to rent a CD...its a NO. If you want to download it, then, well, I can't stop you.. but there is no Anti-Virus in the market at present that can prevent your system being infected from the crap that will be spread by this "immensely degraded" movie.

Raaz 3 all in all is a Poor movie by all or any standards. Stay at home and have look at Bipasha Basu's picture on the internet with face close-up.. and there you have watched your Raaz 3.
