Disturbing, so it's more than scary. I am not a fan of the blood and guts horror films. Freddy, Jason, Michael, Leatherface.... There is very little imagination. Yes, jump scares, and victim's screaming, lots of blood; big deal.
I much prefer the disturbing films, the ones that keep you up on third night, staring at your ceiling
"Megan" is one such. "The Poughkeepsie Tapes," the Dutch/French version of "The Vanishing," "12 Cameras," "Incident in a Ghostland." All very disturbing films, that if you allow yourself to enter their universe, will bother you.
For example, the last few minutes of "Megan..." Think of what Megan is experiencing; it is horrifying. Think of what Katie in "Paranormal Activity" sees when she runs downstairs to the kitchen: what is there? The investigators in the South Korean film, "Gonjiam," witness some extreme things

Unfortunately, these films almost uniformly get poor reviews. I think it is because viewers have little imagination. So, I keep trying to get the word out, and I hope you can find similar horror.
