MacGyver: Diamond + Quake + Carbon + Comms + Tower
(2021)
Episode 10, Season 5

Good plot with disappointing sub-plot
The story started out with a surprise twist that made for an interesting episode that brought two long-time villians together. However, the whole sub-plot with Riley having feelings for Mac and Mac being about to pop the question took a ridiculous turn which just can't go anywhere good without too much suspension of disbelief. If it goes the way it looks, either the people wouldn't be able to work together again and we'll lose a cast member or it will be an unrealistic resolution. If it goes the other way, I think the net result will be a break-up and no romantic relationship for Mac with the people not being able to work together again or the resolution being unrealistic. It may not yet be a jump-the-shark moment, but the sharks are sure circling nearby...

Rizzoli & Isles
(2010)

Exciting so far, needs to settle into its own groove a bit...
So far, I'm really enjoying this show. It's an exciting crime show and nice to see two strong female leads that have good working chemistry. I have high hopes for this show and hope someday that it will become a main season 22 episode show rather than a summer series.

My one complaint is that Maura Isles personality quirks really started out like (early) Temperance Brennan on Bones. I hope that the character develops a solid personality in her own right rather than feeling like a dim copy of Temperance Brennan, and this did seem to be much less pronounced by the end of the season. It's just not realistic when someone is quite that clueless about social interaction, especially when it's so much like another character.

Apple's Way
(1974)

This show was a long time ago!
I remember this as a warm and friendly family show. It was a family who had moved back from the big city to the Dad's rural hometown. It had perhaps a little reminiscence of the Walton's although it was set in current times, not long in the past and not narrated that way. The Apples, too, were a family that had a strong family relationship and strong religious beliefs.

In fact, it may have been done by the same producer as the Waltons but I'm not positive. I was young and it's been so many years since it went off the air, but I remember my family being very disappointed when it wasn't renewed after the second year.
