Come and Find Me
(2016)

This movie had potential but fell totally flat
I should have known this movie was a stinker because it turns out I have seen it already and didn't remember much of it. As the movie progressed scenes came to me that I remember.

It was just all over the place. Not much character development. Everything just kind of thrown together. Not really believable. Corny dialogue in parts. Wasn't so terrible that I couldn't finish it but I was left unsatisfied.

It was not really believable.....like when David and his GF are fighting and she calls him a drama queen...she turned on him quick. It would have been more believable if they would have made her character European since so many of these scamming women are from Russia. I don;t know nothing really fit.

Aaron Paul I still love you but this movie was no bueno!!

Nope
(2022)

What the hell was this?
I like Jordan Peele and saw this last night with a friend. I have never wanted to leave a movie early in my entire life. I painstakingly sat through this movie and waited and waited for it to be over. Had I not been with somebody I would have left but I did not want to be rude. I don't think my friend liked it either.

The special effects were great. But the story very very confusing. Emeralds character was flat out annoying. I did not understand any of this and my friend and I were both confused about the chimp and the purpose of that little story? What a weird bizarre film really really disappointed I wasted two hours of my life and money on the theater on this dumpster fire. I'm still trying to comprehend what it is we watched for two hours.

Orphan: First Kill
(2022)

This was way better than I was expecting
I went into this thinking this would be just "meh". Sequels..or prequels are almost never as good as the original. I tell you I was pleasantly surprised and the makers threw in a little plot twist with the family she orig stayed with and I was like "WTF"?? Julia Stiles was great! I gave this a good solid 7 and I went into it expecting it to be a 5. Well done!!

Keep Breathing
(2022)

Way too many flashbacks ... started out good and went to crap quick
Liv survives a plane crash. What started out as a fight for survival turns into a nonstop cluster of flashbacks and some confusion. Not what I was expecting.

I enjoyed the storyline with her and Danny but all the flashbacks to her childhood were a total overkill. I have no idea why they kept Sam around as a figure of her imagination that whole thing got annoying.

5/10.

Scenes from a Marriage
(2021)

Very surreal and emotional
My boyfriend and I binged on this we watched 4 episodes in 1 night. Both of us have been divorced and some of the raw emotions and dialogue really home.

We almost turned it off. The first 15-20 minutes was boring as they couple was being interviewed for a marriage study. Their interaction with each other seemed, force and contrived and you could feel something was not right between them. We almost turned it off then decided to keep watching it and it really got good.

Great acting it really kind of sucks you in. I like that at the start of each episode they show actual filming of that scene. Each episode is about an hour long and there are 5

8/10 this ended up being better than I thought.

Widow's Point
(2019)

Seriously Craig. WTF dude?
I have been a Craig Sheffer fan since " Fire with Fire" when I was a teen. He's kept a very low profile over the years and resurfaces only to appear in a terrible movie like this? Seems like his movies have gotten worse and worse. I'm beginning to think rent was due and he needed acting gig so he took this role. I understand he took a hiatus from acting to B care for family but he did not redeem himself very well.

I painfully watched the whole movie in 2 attempts. It wasn't scary and looked more like a parody of horror. The acting was terrible ( except for Craig and the woman who played Rosa I think- she had a decent sized role ). The whole thing was a mess. Craig is so talented and I hope to see him in something good before he hangs up the acting hat for good.

Oh and the man bun on Craig. Who's idea was that? Just no.

The Vanished
(2020)

Underwhelmed and more of a Lifetime Movie
I had a hard time taking this movie seriously. I thought the dialogue in parts of it was just silly.

Too many things happening. I surprisingly finished it but it took me 2 tries.

The Dog Walker
(2019)

Ok this was really bad. Ignore the " awards" at the beginning
I just watched this dumpster fire on Amazon. At the beginning they flashed some Awards the movie won. I call BS on this.

A couple of the reviews are laughable on here. The 10/10 reviews are obviously fake and probably written by members of the film crew.

The acting and dialogue was really bad esp from the dude who played Jason. He actually says " hurt her and I will end you! ". End huh? Who really says that?

The only standout in the movie is the guy who played " The Dog walker" Will. A good looking actor who performed decent and did what he could but didn't have much to work with.

With a budget of only $140k this was a very truly a low budget bomb big time. I've seen good low budget movies but this one is awful. I want 90 min of my time back.

Greenland
(2020)

Decent but a little Amateurish.
Nothing unique about this film but I like sci fi and I like Gerard Butler so I watched this. I heard an interview with a scientist that I guess consulted on this movie. It's 2020 so anything can happen right ? Lol. A comet is heading toward Earth threatening to destroy all humanity.

Dialogue nothing impressive especially the scene between John and his father in law when he is confronted about the marriage and cheating. Thought it was a made for TV movie there for a minute.

Morena Bacarrin Gabe a good emotional performance as Johns wife. Trying desperately to protect their diabetic son in the ensuing chaos

Worth a watch but I would spend more than 6 or $7 to see it.

The Kitchen
(2019)

Wanna be gangster film that falls flat.
I saw this only because I wanted to get out of the house and everything else decent I've already seen.

Unless you read about the plot it's easy to assume it's a comedy because of Melissa McCartney and Tiffany Haddish. It's not. It's about 3 wives of gangsters who do their husbands dirty work while the husbands are locked up. They pack pistols. Fight, and deal with slimy gangsters.

Nothing stood out at all in movie. Script was average nothing overly brilliant.

It was just ok. My friend didn't seem to care for it that much either.

I think Melissa and Tiffany need to stick to comedies.

Cobra Kai
(2018)

A fun, exciting trip down memory lane
I don't think I have given any show or movie 10/10. This is my first.

I am a huge Karate Kid fan of anything nostalgic or 80's in general. I heard about this series, forgot about it until someone mentioned in on a mom board I am on.

I joined YouTube Red just for this. Called my 9 and 13 year old kids to watch it with me since they have seen the original KK, and at first before it even started they had their noses turned right up to it.

Within 15 minutes and Jonny's fight scene at the mini mart, they were cheering and all excited. We watched 3 episodes the first night, 2 last night and we will finish all 10 this week.

It is somewhat kid friendly but ep 4/5 do have dick jokes just be advised.

Lots of flashbacks and references to the movie. Both Daniel and Johnny are all grown up with their respective families, both fighting their own battles.

I cannot wait to see what the next 5 episodes bring.

The 15:17 to Paris
(2018)

Not Clint's best...everything you have heard about this movie is true..
I will give Clint a pass since he is freaking awesome and everything else he has done has been great.

This movie is just not exciting. Most of it is on the backgrounds of the 3 guys involved that stopped the terrorist.

The actual train incident lasts for about 10 minutes in the movie. That is it.

Most of the movie is on the guys childhoods and lives up until this point.

At the end of the movie, it does not even give you an update on the idiot terrorist and what actually happened with him (For the record is legal case is still pending).

UGH. Kinda wish I hadn't wasted my money on this.

The Affair
(2014)

Interesting and captivating..albeit slightly confusing with flashbacks (possible spoilers)
I have just started watching this series so I am totally binging. I have watched all of Season 1 and 2 and I am a couple episodes into Season 3.

4 main characters. Noah-a married father of 4 to his wife Helen. He starts a long affair with Allison who is married to Cole.

You can tell right off a crime has happened, someone is dead and all 4 are being interviewed by law enforcement so there are a lot of flashbacks. Sometimes the timeline is a little confusing because they go back and forth a lot to present time and flashbacks. Also you will notice in Season 1 different versions of events are repeated. It's not an alternate reality perhaps just different perspectives.

It also becomes obvious Allison lost a child and you find out later in Season 1 on that. So eventually most of your questions get answered but its frustrating waiting.

I find the casting interesting. I don't find Ruth Wilson or Dominic West particularly attractive or very appealing. Yet there are some intense sex scenes and the series is pretty hard core with the story lines so its easy to forget this is acting.

What I don't like is when an episode ends, it does not pick up from where it ends on the next one. You could find yourself in flashbacks and you can forget that they left you hanging on one episode until they decide to pick it up again a couple episodes later. Season 3 ep 1 is a perfect example of this. There is also a lot of focus on a French teacher who I really just do not like all the attention she is getting from the writers.

Overall this is definitely worth a watch but I am a bigger fan of Seasons 1 and 2 over 3. Season 4 is being filmed now.

A Teacher
(2013)

Captivating sexy little gem..it is NOT bad...
I am not sure where the bad reviews come from unless they are from people upset with the subject matter. It is Hollywood people get over it. If people voted on movies based on moral compass than many would get a 4/10.

The Hot teacher thing is a double standard. This kid is a senior, 17+ which is the age of consent in many states. Let's not dwell on the possible criminal element of the movie. I don't know of any 17 year old horny males that would feel violated by a hot young female teacher. NONE. OK so enough of that.

These 2 have a hot fling. Obviously if anyone finds out about it her career would be over. He seems mature for his age and I thought the acting was well done and these 2 actors did a great job of pretending to be into each other.

Things start to go a little astray when she realizes she is really infatuated with this kid.

I thought the film and story was beautiful and artistically well done. The dialogue was real and I understand much of it was improvised.

It is short only about 1hr 15 min but it is worth a watch.

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life
(2016)

Super cute! Very enjoyable for the whole family
I took my kids to see this yesterday. My daughter is 12 and son is 8. Rafe is a talented, creative junior high school student-though I don't recall if they ever specifically said what grade he was in. He has been kicked out of other schools and he lands at this one. This is his last chance. The school has ridiculous rules and an aloof, dorky principal who seems to take pleasure in enforcing these stupid rules. Well rules were made to be broke and Rafe and his friends refuse to follow them and break them all, leading to hilarious results.

Mom has an idiot boyfriend who doesn't realize the kids are getting the last laugh at him.

It reminded me of the "Diary of a wimpy kid" movies with the drawings that come to life aspect.

Highly recommend as this movie is fun for the whole family.

A Single Shot
(2013)

Left me hanging and disappointed
So a bunch of white trash live in a little town and go after a hunter John Moon when he accidentally kills a woman. John sees that she has a huge load of cash in her car which he decides to take since he is desperate to hold on to his wife who has left with and she takes their son with him.

The writing here is not good and the dialogue is just off in a few parts with some unnecessary vulgarity. Kelly Reilly plays John's wife and she pulls off a Southern accent well despite being British. She is way too good looking for John's character who is an unshaven bum with bad teeth.

I did not like the ending at all. Left me very unfulfilled wanting more. Interesting plot which kept my interest at first but then it fell apart at the end.

Before I Go to Sleep
(2014)

Started slow....then got really interesting
It took me 2 tries to watch this movie. I started it on Netflix Monday night...fell asleep about 40 minutes into it and it was kind of boring and slow. Started it up last night and really glad I finished this film. It picks up about 45 minutes into it when you figure out what is going on.

Nicole Kidman plays Chris who has amnesia. She is seeing a therapist, records her memories on a camera every day, starts over the next day when she forgets everything. She has had some sort of accident which caused the memory loss and as you watch the film and see her flashbacks on what she remembers, things start falling into place.

She lives with her husband Ben and it becomes apparent she is also a mother and they lost their child. So she struggles to remember her husband, her deceased child, her friends.

This movie had me bawling in the end. VERY satisfying! Nicole Kidman is an emotional wreck in this film and luckily she can cry on cue because this was a tear jerker. Highly recommend.

The Visit
(2015)

M. Knight has redeemed himself! Movie is a trip!
I love horror and some flat out just suck but I have been wanting to see this one.

Tyler and Becca are sent to see their grandparents, whom they have never met since Papa and Nana had a falling out with their mother years ago. Some bad blood between them and Mom wants to go on a vacation with her boyfriend so she sends the kids to meet their grandparents for the first time. They live on a rural farm in the middle of nowhere with no cell service and little internet access.

At first they seem like a normal old couple but soon after it becomes obvious something is off esp with Nana. They maintain in constant communication with their mother. It is obvious Nana does not like to talk about their mother so the kids are still trying to figure out what the estrangement is all about. Things then get weird! A good solid flick. Great job M. Knight for keeping me entertained and scaring me a little
