War Dogs
(2016)

Dolla, Dolla, Bill Y'all
Another home run for each of these actors and the director. The movie's plot is about two childhood friends who happen to come across each other at a funeral. Little did David Packouz (Teller), a shy penny-earning massage therapist, know that this reunion with his "old school bro" would take to an extreme turnaround in his life. Efraim Divoreli (Hill) is presented to us as the fun, unconcerned, know-it-all and living the "life" type of guy. Though roles do seem to flip as the flick goes on. We get a taste of how our ambition and desire of always wanting more and more can sometimes strike back. These two young men, after just hitting a few bowls and some small business affairs in Efraim's office, turn into the up-and-coming hotshots in the Arms Trade. Eventually expanding their business, AEY, and becoming a "big deal" but run into problems as greed starts to kick in, testing how far they are really willing to go so that they can get their hands on that long-desired prize. It's not all fun and games when your in the big leagues. The film is funny, dramatic and has a Wolf of Wall Street vibe to it. The acting by these two gentlemen, especially Hill is superb. Just can't help not to laugh with this guy. Teller did an awesome job fitting the smart and sensible role, giving us the counterpart. Music throughout the movie was very good and fit in great. Give it a watch, it's worth your while.

The Good Neighbor
(2016)

It's like they say, "Don't judge a book by its cover"
After having seen the trailer for this flick, I think many can relate to the feeling that we were going to witness a wannabe 2016 version of "Disturbia". But, to our surprise, this brings a different approach on that "scary, murder-looking neighbor" theme. It's fresh, suspenseful and definitely keeps you always wondering on what that old man really is up to and how these two knuckleheads are keeping things under control, but were they really? The acting by Miller and Gilchrist is good, although nothing out of the ordinary. Kudos to Caan for living up to his name, he really did a good job of pursuing this character. The music throughout the whole film was definitely on point and was to me a very nice touch. Overall, the movie is pretty solid. Give it a watch, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Camp X-Ray
(2014)

Which side are you on?
The movie itself was quite good and I think that it lives up to a 7.5 star rating. Now, as said before I enjoyed the film but do understand that for many (Including myself) it can be seen as a little to slow...Until arriving to the climax, which is absolutely great! The thing is, that we need to understand what this movie is really trying to portray. Its showing us the crude reality of how heartless and dehumanizing humanity can be through the eyes of Cole (Kristen Stewart) who starts to see how harsh things are and as said in the movie "it's not all so black and white". Kristen Stewart's acting was good but nothing out of the ordinary... I have to say that Maddi's performance was very good and really interprets the character by truly reflecting what Ali was feeling and displaying his desperation of having been in Guantanamo Bay for 8 years. To sum it up, the movie is good and quite the worthwhile. Be patient at the beginning cause it gets better and better as it progresses.'

After Earth
(2013)

Came to me as a surprise!
I didn't have much faith in this movie and really never had the intention of watching it until a friend of mine recommended it to me. To start off I'm not a big Sci-Fi fan but this movie was something that I really did enjoy.

The movie isn't FULL of action if not that we are always accompanying Kitai (Jaden Smith) during his first mission and adventure on planet Earth due to an unexpected crash. He's forced to go on by himself because the whole crew unfortunately died on impact except for his father Cypher (Will Smith)who was suffering a sever leg injury, therefore leaving Kitai alone. It may not be one of the greatest movies out there but go ahead and give it a shot, for one of those boring afternoons its definitely watchable!

The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman
(2013)

Truly beautiful to the eye!
Wow! Where to start from? In my opinion this movie was extraordinary and probably one of the best films I have seen in this year of 2013. It's not the usual Hollywood film and it tackles a whole new side! The film is full of craziness, twists and turns. I found myself incredibly amused somewhat hypnotized with the beautiful city that is shown throughout the movie. Everything from the places to the soundtracks are exuberant giving us a taste of the European country known as Romania. The acting realized by LaBeouf and Wood is tremendous and extremely real. To my taste this is by far one of Shia's best films and its great to see how he can come all the way from playing a role in "Transformers" to a part which requires and seeks a totally different type of person. Without a doubt I recommend that you give yourself the pleasure of enjoying this thrill ride!

Runner Runner
(2013)

Was totally let down..
This movie totally let me down... I was expecting such a better performance of the actors, a better plot line but, some things are just not meant to be. The movie lacked many things and one of the most important was the "spice" of which it had none at all. I found myself very bored during most of the movie. I never really got attached or into the movie enough! Although I criticize the movie i am not happy while doing it, Furman and the Cast of this movie are worth a lot more and I know that they could have given us a better show. He (Furman) intended to do the best he could to try and lure in the viewer by bringing exotic places, beautiful girls and action scenes and to that I do give my props because he gave the viewer a type of "eye candy"... and for some it resulted enough.

A Case of You
(2013)

An amusing and subtle Love Story....
Sam (Long), a modern-day writer, is introduced to the viewer as a shy and timid guy who finds himself in the dilemma of not finding his "Inspiration" in life. This immediately gives the viewer a sort of compassion for the desperate man who is in a sort of life-crisis... We are later introduced to a beautiful and down to earth girl, Birdie (Wood), the barista at the coffee bar where Sam frequently goes to. He finds himself beginning to like this girl but not knowing how to engage a conversation or a mere chance of getting to know her apart from the small chit chat that takes place while waiting for his coffee to be served. After a days work he goes back to his house and talks to Eliot (O'Donnell), his roommate, who tells him to look her up on Facebook so that he could get to find out something about this unknown barista and become her ideal man. Sam finally gets the opportunity to date Birdie but finds that he is becoming someone who he really isn't and becomes panic-struck with what is happening...... Personally I feel that many can connect with that lost and helpless feeling that Sam undergoes throughout the film until finally making it out and finding that, that makes one happy. The movie is not out of this world and could be considered another monotonous love story by many but, if you have some free time on your hands, give it a watch! You wont disappointed.

Her
(2013)

Overall Opinion
This movie truly lives up to its 8.4 rating and I find myself giving it yet a better score. The film itself opens up a whole new world of thoughts and possible situations that we as humans could see happening in a not-so-far future. Everything from the soundtracks, to the way it was filmed, camera angles and actors were excellent.I think that Spike really engaged a very interesting and captive way of luring in the viewer and got Joaquin at his very best. At moments you may find yourself dazzled and confused but still extremely caught on to the film, wanting to keep watching and seeing how this awkward yet quintessential love story finishes...
