Australian Epic
(2023)

Refreshing look at old stories
Each episode has music and lyrics that make sense. If you find the Bradbury Episode a little sketch-comedy-ish for your liking then I suggest you persist because the music elements really come alive in Princess Mary.

You'll feel Hamilton, Aladdin, Pocahontas vibes but there are enough clever lyrics and melody here to get those ear-worms wriggling.

The episodes don't overstay their welcome and although I don't usually like celebrity talking-heads telling me what I already know, there were enough real witnesses and experts included to teach me a few things I didn't know.

The cast are fun to watch and there is some serious musical talent there. You'll find the occasional laugh-out-loud moment and even some poignancy every now and then. Worth a watch.

Kevin Can F**k Himself
(2021)

Think Wanda Vision
You start thinking this is OTT like Fresh Prince or just about anything from the 80's before comedy started to evolve. I almost switched off and then...

Give it a go folks. It's not what you initially think. There is more to this than the exaggerated laugh track and cartoon characters.

Those who think this is a sitcom probably thought Wanda Vision was confused and non-sensical. Great to see something fresh but weirdly familiar.

Those who.

Glass
(2019)

Broken Glass
I loved Ubreakable and Split was good but I could not warm to this. I'm glad others got more from it but I found it long and boring. Even some of my favourite actors were flat, like the dialog. I didn't mind Lady in the Water but Glass was transparent and definitely half empty. I can't give away spoilers because there were no surprises other than the number of people that enjoyed the film. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood.

Haters Back Off!
(2016)

Worth your while
I've never seen Mranda Sings on YouTube but I really enjoy the wacky characters and humour with a large splash of poignancy.

There are laugh out loud moments and some slapstick that I don't normally enjoy but somehow here it works.

It's not for all tastes and often OTT but just go with it and give your brain a break.
