Hanu Man
(2024)

Most amazing movie and bollywood should be ashamed
No Hindu attacking.

No insulting Hindu culture.

No twisting Hindu sayings.

No non-secular promotion of abrahamic religions.

No showing Hindu women falling for abrahamic men and Hindu men being bad.

Instead, shows a very entertaining movie that has story, character-development, emotions, action, comedy, twists and mythology. This is what represents Bharat.

The hero is not arrogant. Unlike bollwood's sallu, srk and other khans who only showcase arrogance and bad character as hero. This hero shows good character, good nature, helpful to others. That is the difference of this industry.

The movie shows good characters. All characters have a distinct personality.

This one is a must watch and a true representation of Bharat movies.

The last 15 minutes of the movie was absolutely amazing! Easily one of the best movies made in the history of all movies.

Kantara
(2022)

A few very serious questions to all kannadigas, outsiders and people in other states
In the movie we have shown a hero that is very unnatural. Before you express your love for this character and story, what will you say for these things?

1) You will respect a hero only if he wins in competitions? And not just 1. All.

This hero always wins every game. Why?

Is it bad to lose in games? What is wrong in showing that a hero can lose as well?

A mature man accepts defeat and tries again. A mature man doesn't feel bad when defeated. He just tries a different way.

The more you give 10 stars to animal heroes, the more they will appear in the movies.

2) What do you feel about respect for women? Hero constantly harasses the woman and even pinches her. She's shown as nothing more than a sex object.

I've never seen a single kannadiga or outsider doing this to a woman. Then why are we showing such cheap characters?

All the locals who love this movie. Do you not care how your women are treated? Imagine if your daughter, sister, mother, cousin were pinched on her waist like this. If you won't like that then why are you giving this movie a 10 stars?

3) Entire movie hero is shouting "woohaaa, woohaaa". Does that show a mature man or an animal man?

Everyone is saying this movie shows Karnataka culture. How many men have you seen in Karnataka who go around jumping like monkeys and fighting like goons the entire day?

Imagine Bengaluru if all men were wild like this. Imagine any Karnataka village if men were wild like this. Will it look like civilized place or like caveman days?

STOP encouraging gundas in the movie. STOP giving 10 star for animal characters. 🙏🙏

4) You will respect a hero only if he wins every fight, is it? In this movie the hero fights endlessly.

He has a disagreement with the police officer. Punch. Disagreement with another villager. Direct punch. Doesn't win the award due to politics. Punch.

What nonsense is this?

Conclusion:

Does this movie truly show Karnataka values? 🙏🙏

Plz have some self-respect if you are in Karnataka. Show the world that Karnataka culture is better than these trash characters and this trash storyline.

Show maturity. Not animalism. 🙏🙏

Shamshera
(2022)

Another movie that is anti-hindu
Britishers destroyed India during colonization era. Thousands of Indians suffered at the hands of these colonizers.

But according to this movie it wasn't the Britishers that harmed India. It was the upper class Hindus specifically. Another trashwood propaganda movie.

Antim: The Final Truth
(2021)

An insult to acting
Spoiler free review.

This is not how Punjabis behave. Sallu acting was laughable. Showing eyes at the camera constantly. Very bad acting and no emotion in this movie and the story is the typical brainless masala + love story (come on Bollywood you can do better).

Not a single Punjabi guy behaves like this. Also, all action scenes were way over the top. Too much post editing effects and loud crash scenes gave me a headache. And the camera zooms in constantly on his egoistic eyes before every jump/every punch. BTW talking about the jumps - every single one was unnecessary and doesn't fit into story or action sequence.

The ending was too predictable. Even a donkey could have guessed it. Story as usual is non existent.

Sanak
(2021)

Sadak chaap movie
Worst actor in the history of bollywood. 100% unrealistic and toxic-masculinity character. Such characters should not be shown in movies because they have a bad effect on everyone's lives.

Acting was garbage. Story was nonsense and stunts were stomach-cringing over-the-top. What else can you expect from our nepotism industry.

Dybbuk: The Curse Is Real
(2021)

Absolute garbage movie
It's unnecessarily islamic. None of the islamic traditions or cultures fit in to the movie.

Beginning of the movie - a Christian man who married a hindu wife and was talking about the latter's family protesting against the marriage. This kind of religious element was completely forced and unnecessary.

Christian father who is shown as subordinate to Islamic priest. Again, it is not necessary to mess with religions in movies. Why not create a completely fictitious religion instead of throwing these kinds of meanings into real ones?

No scares. Lot of unexplained and weird plot holes. Sets are lack luster.

The only good thing about the movie is Emrah of whom I am a fan and hence watched this movie. Otherwise it is complete garbage.

Water
(2005)

Absolute garbage movie
Learn what hindu culture is like. Live in a real ashram to know the austerities that are practiced in it. The Hindu philosophy spans thousands of years old and is among the richest and deepest that exist today. Ashrams are built and run around that philosophy.

This movie hurts the religious sentiments of hindus and it's very clear the author has never lived in an ashram. I'm not sure if he's even heard of the word "philosophy" let alone know how amazing the Hindu religious thought process is.

There is not one character in this movie that actually shows the life of ashrams. It's a pure propaganda movie. Avoid it at all costs.

Bal Ganesh
(2007)

Absolute garbage
None of this is as per Indian mythology. They're shaming Ganesha, and everyone else through these stupid productions. This show hurts the feelings of Hindus in India. It is stomach cringingly bad. Absolute garbage.

Bellbottom
(2021)

If you liked mission mangal, Gold, you will love this too
The only producer in Bollywood who doesn't do hindu bashing and minority appeasement. Great movie. Very thrilling. Minus songs. I am not interested in any Bollywood songs. Great acting. Suspense and action. Will keep you on the edge. Communists in India will give it a bad rating because of what it is about, obviously.

Sacred Games
(2018)

Pure BS
Every villain is shown as a Hindu. Even the spiritual guru which is something whom the Hindus respect, is shown as a criminal. Too many abuses. Haphazard and dumb plot which doesn't make any sense if you think about it. Just for the sake of thrill they're showing something. And a lot of gore. And a lot of disrespect towards women. Shame on the people who created this movie because it's got very little fun and a lot of crazy violence.

College Romance
(2018)

Yet another romance
Since the last 30 years all that has been coming out from our country is either romance or crime. Do we truly not have the capability to create anything else? The whole world is making creative media and here in India we're churning the same old animal instincts over and over and over and over and over again. Horrible piece of trash this TV series.

Lupin III: The First
(2019)

Crazy horrible movie!
If you watch animes, you've no doubt heard of Jesus Yamato from Gundam Seed? This guy can basically turn up anywhere and owns every person in the area.

Lupin is very similar. He owns every situation and is always on top of everything. There's never anything that's surprising for him because he's always expecting whatever is happening. He has already done things in the past that will take care of the future. The only plot twist is to get to know what he did.

That's very kiddo. The samurai could have gotten a hell lot more screen time because he was a cool character. The girl could have stood up for herself a little more throughout the movie.

The villains had absolutely no depth to why they were doing what they were doing other than because "I'm great, and I win".

My recommendation is to skip this movie if you're above 12 years old.

Blank
(2019)

A horrible film with hateful characters, jam packed with small contradictory details
Do you know the kind of typical bollywood stereotype characters we have in films? Vicky Malhotra is doing an MBA from London (aka super rich), who books a flight ticket on the fly (aka filthy rich) but can't afford a room in a hotel for 1 day and needs to share it.

Similarly, this movie has the stereotype character in the lead role as Hanif. Hanif poses as a mild-mannered guy on several occasions. He gets nervous in front of the police, breaks down when questioned (aka timid, weak) but makes an ultra-strong eye contact with strangers, in fact, he outstares everyone on the film (aka passive-aggressive), he mercilessly beats up the hospital staff, the nurses, the doctors (aka aggressive).

When someone hits you what do you do? You defend, you hit back. Hanif knocks them out onto the floor. He hits them back so hard that they get unconscious. What would normal people do? They would run. Hanif, on the other hand goes on beating unconscious strangers, innocent people around, endlessly smashing their faces until there's blood everywhere.

And if you see the ending, this guy comes off as the good guy. Why did he kill so many innocents, disable them for life? He was just trying to do good! It's okay.

How do you feel in offices? Why are colleagues all around you getting so arrogant and hateful? It's because worthless $hits like this character are portrayed as a "hero" when their behavior is 90% villainish.

Karwaan
(2018)

Great acting by Irfan Khan, ruined by Dulquer Salman and psychotic Beena
Imagine this scene - Beena is talking loudly (almost shouting at someone). This is the normal way she speaks to someone. She's egoistic, arrogant and a complete snob.

Dulquer Salman meets Beena. And after that keeps trying to impress her by going out of his way to help her out. He actually drives in the opposite direction at the expense of completing his father's death ceremony. Either he loves Beena or he hates his father.

In either case his decisions don't make any sense. He strongly maintains that he doesn't love Beena. Then the only conclusion is that he hates his father. If that was the case then he shouldn't bother even going for his father's death ceremony.

Next, he isn't driving the car. Irfan Khan is driving it. Irfan owns the car and is doing a favor to Dulquer. By this setup itself Dulquer has no right to pickup and drop ladies in their destinations which is in the opposite direction of his real trip. That right only belongs to Irfan Khan because he's granting a favor for Dulquer.

And yet, in the movie Dulquer promises Beena to drop her in the opposite direction, and then replies rude when Irfan objects to it. That itself shows how horrible Dulquer's character it.

Add to all this his moronish, sadistic expression that we have to tolerate throughout the movie. And he covers this up by saying that he's the only one taking responsibility in the group and hence the constipated expression. Give me a break! Irfan Khan is the only person truly responsible in the entire group. Both of the other people are complete snobs.

Moreover, the movie poster shows the same stupid constipated expression in Dulquer Salman's face. I hate the poster of his stupid character.

Thackeray
(2019)

Great performance by Nawazuddin, Script well written but doesn't detail criminal deeds of Thackeray
Let me add my review for the first thing that everyone else is criticizing:

SCRIPT: The script was well written. It is a heavy and serious movie because the topic itself is a heavy one. The dialogues are strong and punchy. No scenes are shown with over-emotion or too much focus. For example, if there's a blast happening then the blast is shown in slow motion and the story moves on. This is a very unique and great way of showing stories!

ACTING: Nawazuddin has carried this role fantastically! He stands with poise, he delivers dialogues coolly, and the best aspects I liked were his pauses. Nawazuddin has this way of carrying out pauses naturally and his natural cool persona suits the script very well. Great job done!

CAMERA SHOTS/SCENES: The movie is quite visually pleasing. The first half was shot in black and white while the second half was in color. The sets were beautifully created and it takes you to a different era successfully.

THE MAIN CHARACTER: This is the part where I didn't like the film. Whenever Thackeray commits an atrocity, it is shown in just a single scene. There have been thousands brutally murdered by him and that is shown in a flash.

Marathis deserve respect, as does any other race or religion. No race should be made fun of in the common media. According to this movie, Marathis weren't respected because they weren't doing much more than setting up tea stalls while "outsiders" were creating companies, and doing a lot of big work. This led to a bunch of jokes on Marathis.

Bal took this to heart and tried to get Marathis the respect that they deserve - by killing off other religions and races. He polarized the whole mass of Marathas against "outsiders". Although he verbally says "I have my nation first and my Maharashtra second" his actions show the exact opposite.

In the process of murdering people who were just doing their jobs and forcing them to create reservation for Marathis, in the process of using his goons to kill off other religions, to force them to celebrate Marathi festivals, Bal Thackeray became the very monster that he started the fight with. In his process of "winning respect for Marathas", he crumpled over several fundamental rights of several other races.

The only reason that I wouldn't give this movie a 10 star, is because it portrays Thackeray in a neutral aspect rather than monster that he was. Even today, the the racial divide that he did in Maharashtra still polarizes the masses and non-Marathas face disrespect, harassment and bullying in their day-to-day lives.

Bãhubali 2: The Conclusion
(2017)

A horrible animalistic movie with exceptional special effects and editing
First of all, I want to say that the movie was entertaining and the special effects were among the best I've seen in Indian cinema! The acting was decent and fight sequences were good. Bahuballi is a superhero with super powers.

However, after the movie ended I felt that this movie has a bad effect on society. Apart from the points mentioned above there are too many negative points about this movie.

Here are reasons why I hate this movie.

1) The 2 protagonists are shown with insanely huge muscles. Tell me, what if you were to see a movie in which women have insanely huge boobs. Would you accept that editing? You would not. Why is it not okay to objectify women's bodies and okay to do it for mens? This isn't any ordinary atheltic hero. Both of them are shown as "normal guys" but with mammoth muscles. That is objectifying. If you show him completely as a superhero then it's not objectifying. But if you show him as an ordinary guy + superhero muscles then that is objectifying.

2) What scenes are shown in the whole movie? Randomly pause the movie at any scene and you'll find either of these emotions: romance, heroism, war, mother crying. There is nothing else in the movie. This is why I feel that it's an animalistic movie. Remember spartacus? Along the same lines.

3) What was the need to show a weak king and Bahuballi hunting along with him? The need was to show contrast and hence a bigger hero. For example, if I'm just doing parkour then it's not so sensational. Put me around someone who's scared of heights and suddenly it's more dramatic.

4) The ending scenes. I won't add any spoilers but I just want to say that it was pathetic. The way the whole scene plays out it just shows pure machoism and heroism. There's no story here.

The Maze Runner
(2014)

Good plot line, adventurous and good background score but too much focus on the protagonist and characters are all shallow
The main plot line is quite interesting and the story feels adventurous. You keep wondering what will happen next and whether or not they will survive.

But as with any other teen movie this one too seems to have the world revolving completely around the protagonist. There is no depth to the other characters. Everyone constantly keeps looking at the boy. There are many camera shots where a group of people are expecting an outcome of a scene (for ex waiting for something to open/close, waiting for someone to come/go etc) but instead of looking at what lies in front of them they all have their eyes focused on the boy. It's as if their life is all about finding out what happens to the boy. Suppose you're waiting for astronauts to land on the moon. Just at that moment, would you look at the astronauts or would you look at your friend's face constantly nearby?

As for the boy the very first thing you notice is that he's arrogant. He looks like a snob and his dialogues are all bad. When he clearly sees a someone struggling he needs to reassure the other person that he did a great job, we're all grateful to him, times are changing, his help is still needed etc. But instead he responds in a self-centered and arrogant manner. Then there are a bunch of really close scenes all focused on his face. I felt quite repulsed by the close shots especially because he's looking at everyone else like everyone else should bow to him.

Plot line is pretty good and kept my focus. I would say if you like adventure/suspense/thriller movies then you can watch it once. It's not that great but it's still good enough to watch once.

The Switch
(2010)

A two-line story dragged out over 90 minutes with bland, cheesy dialogs and a horribly unlovable set of characters
The movie is very very slow paced.

DIALOGUES: The whole movie is jam-packed with the following kinds of dialogs:

  • "I.. uh.. I..I..I-I...uh...I just wanted to say something" (Really you ducking dork? It took you so much time just to say that much finally?)

  • "You...uh..uh... you...uh... I've seen.. uh.. I've felt... that...uh.. in the last few days.. uh.. in the last one month actually... uh... ever since I'm back... uh.. I've seen you that...uh... I've felt this energy... uh.. with you... uh... with us.. uh... right?.... uh? (silence) right?... (silence)... uh?... oh my god!!"

  • "I...uh.. think... that'll be great! Yeah!!... that'll be great! that'll be great! that'll be great!! Yeah!... uh-huh"

  • "I...uh.... I'm really sorry... that...uh....I think...uh.. that....uh"

Well how did it feel to read the above dialogs? Now imagine going through that repeatedly with NO plot progress for 90 minutes.

(In a tone like I'm doubting that I'm actually speaking) How...uh... how.. uh... how would that... uh... feel?

Plot line: The name of the movie is "The Switch" and the guy doesn't come to know about his own switch until 50-60% of the movie. There is no real plot. I can summarize the whole plot in 2-3 lines max but it's all dragged out over this entire stretch.

CHARACTERS: The characters act very cautious about everything. If they're saying something it's very very slow and it's like they're slowly treading poisonous waters. What the duck! They're not talking to Aliens that they all need to calculate every word! They're talking to other ducking human beings! Haven't they done that already for so many years?

Jeniffer Aniston is in a a particularly bitchy role. Throughout the movie she's constantly complaining, reacting, being abusive, demanding, stubborn.

The characters all have a weird communication between them all. They try to say something but instead keep dragging it out endlessly filled with pointless sentences here and there. It's like everyone's speaking a different language and trying to communicate.

COMEDY: There is NO comedy in this movie. ZERO. All the dialogs are serious. The scenes are silent with no background score. The characters don't laugh. They're all serious and angry the entire time.

Exam
(2009)

A sh*t list of bad arrogant characters..
This movie has an awesome plot line spoiled completely by the overly arrogant, rude, egoistical personalities that are portrayed. I wonder whether the author of the story ever wanted such characters.

The plot line and the puzzle solving goes to hell as the characters keep belittling other people. I'm glad that I watched this flick on my PC at home because I could keep skipping every few seconds to get past the bad acting.

Another thing that I found really bad in the movie script is the way a particular character is treated. I shall not name that character to spoil the movie but I just couldn't relate at all to any of characters at all. If someone is shouting you quietly listen to him and focus on his content? Really? I would challenge that rude behavior and ask him to speak properly or get the hell out.

Then about the script. By the end of the movie you'll realize that the plot line was really stupid. The actual answer(s) expected for that exam was illogical and out of context.

Plus the way the characters solve the quiz and arrive at the ending. It looks like jumps and plot holes to me. And then there are logical inconsistencies too where a rule gets applied to one candidate but later on doesn't get applied to another candidate.

Overall: A piece of sh** not worth wasting your time on.

The Words
(2012)

An awesome background score, strong characters, good story told..
Damn good movie!

CAMERA SHOTS/SOUNDS/ACTING etc: The movie direction and background score is incredible and it brings out the story in a damn gripping way. While watching the story I never felt that the acting was insincere, or the characters were fake or the personalities were too stretched.

STORY: I could relate to the characters. I was hooked onto the movie right till the end. The story had a lasting impression on me after the movie was over and I kept wondering about it.

IMMERSION: There's something about the way the characters are brought out that makes it all feel real. Maybe it's because of the small details adding up together in the flow rather than contradicting. Plus the background score feels like it's bringing out the story more clearly rather than just something playing in the background.

OVERALL: A great movie experience. It was as gripping as The Illusionist movie - you stay focused throughout the storytelling, there's a sense of amazement and you want to find out what's going to happen next, your curiosity is constantly getting satisfied.
