Het paard van Sinterklaas
(2005)

A very nice also-for-the-parents children's movie.
Winky Wong is from China and moves to the Netherlands. Of course, this comes with problems .. Winky meets the Dutch tradition of Sinterklaas! A whole new worlds opens for little Winky who simply asks for a horse, because she was told that, if she was good throughout the year, you can get ánything you want. And because she loses the horse she loved the most, she just asks for a new horse. Will she get one? Mixed with real dialogue and voice-over, this movie is extremely cute. You will fall in love with Winky Wong immediately and the way she handles her new life. Everything just fits perfectly and this is the most wonderful holiday movie I've seen in times.

Go see Het Paard van Sinterklaas if you want to know more about Sinterklaas, an interesting event in the Netherlands. Go see Het Paard van Sinterklaas if you want to be amazed by acting skills from kids under 10 years. Just GO see Het Paard van Sinterklaas and his follow up: Waar is het Paard van Sinterklaas?

Kinderen geen bezwaar
(2004)

Great replacement to "Opassen"
This truly is a great replacement for "Opassen". The jokes are all funny and just like "Opassen" the writing and the story lines are all wacky and likable. The actors all do a great job, although I find that Celine Purcell is a bit over-acting. Normally, I don't like dutch comedies, because most of the time their just not funny. But I actually laughed on this show, it really is funny! Especcially Anne-Mieke Ruyten is very funny, and also very likable. Most of the dutch comedies are crap and I find that Netherland now has a comedy-show to be proud off.

I give this show an 8 out of 10.

Great job, VARA, keep this going!

Samen
(2005)

The everyday laugh ^.^
Talpa Television comes with a revolution in dutch TV: A daily comedy show that is actually funny. The characters are all appealing, likable(and hate-able) and most of all: Funny. Johnny Kraaijkamp does a good job, and so does Cees Geel and Jennifer Hoffman. She turns out to be very funny. The show is so strange and not one of a kind because it holds a lot of characters who all have there funny moment. Something what I still find disappointing that the dutch comedy show is just not 'cartoonish' most of the time. "Samen" haves his moments, but still, it's as, say, Friends.

This is, next to Opassen and Kees & Co one of the better dutch comedy show, I personally thing.

Until now, I give this show a 8/10

Fantastic Four
(2005)

Just like much other Comic-Movies: Great!
It was about time that Fantastic Four(F4) got his own movie. After Batty, Spidey, DareDevil and some ridiculous movie's about "heroes" that doesn't even has his own comic-book(Elektra, Catwoman) I was really excited to hear that F4 would get a movie. Of course, it's the latest 'trend' to make comic-movies, but as F4 was always my favorite comic, I was happy to hear it.

F4 is just like all other comic-movies filled with gorgeous actors/actresses, great special effect and cool villains and heroes. F4 has it all. And also, just like other comic-movies each hero has his own problems with love, each other, blabber blabber. But unlike other Comic-Movies(I mean Batman/Spiderman/Superman) the F4 team doesn't wear hideous mask so no one would know who they are. Okay, little explanation about the story then:

After 4 Astronauts, Sue Storm - Reed Richards - Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm, had an accident in space and are exposed to cosmic energy, they find out that they have special powers. Sue Storm AKA The Invisible Woman has the power to turn invisible and create power/protection shields. Reed Richards AKA Mr. Fantastic is more like the leader of the group and he is stretchable. VERY stretchable. Then, there is Benjamin Grimm AKA The Thing. Well ... he's a ... stone hard thing. And Johnny AKA The Human Torch is the wild pig of the 4 and has the power to turn Supernova, what means he can be as hot as the sun. Throughout the movie, they try everything to get normal but in a moment they realize that these 'powers' are not bad, but they can DO things with it. What no one else actually noticed is that there was another man on the spaceship: Victor Von Doom, the most powerful man in the city (Including a 20 meters high statue with his shiny face). He was also exposed to the cosmic energy but the accident doesn't really ... heroemanize him. Because of the rampage, his company and himself are ruined and of course, he is not really fond of it. He turns into Dr. Doom and tries to Doom everyone who was involved with his ruining, and that is of course Reed Richards, who's idea it was in the first place to go to space.

Blabber blabber...As you see(actually, read ... ) the movie is by no mean intelligent with a great storyline and the best acting. But that's not what an comic-movie is.

Fantastic Four is just another Comic-Movie ... and that's not bad at all!

Less Than Perfect
(2002)

One of the best, along Will & Grace and 8 Simple Rules
I really think 8 Simple Rules is one of the best series ever, next to Will & Grace and 8 Simple Rules.

The show has his power from the bitchy characters who are all biting off at each other. Sare Rue as Claude is hilarious as the sweet, cute lady who always wants to be nice but sometimes can be REALLY bitchy. Sherri Shepherd plays the part of Ramona Platt absolutely gorgeous, they couldn't have find someone better for the role(maybe Queen Latifah but Sherri comes VERY close). I love her ... ah, and Kipp, played by Zachari Levi. Zachary is a newcomer to me, but I love him already. He .. he's .. he's just so mean to everybody(except for Mr. Bulter en Mrs. Weston) and with the sneery one liners he's just one of the best characters in the series. Ah, and the Owen aka Andy Dick. I find Andy an annoying Dick in other shows but as Owen, he's funny. Only thing I have to say about Will Butler is that he being so cocky annoys me.

That we'll come to the greatest woman of all sit-com since she started playing in it(Well, the greatest is Karen @ Will & Grace, but everyone knows that). Andrea Parker. What a GREAT character she has. Lydia Weston is mean, cocky, arrogant .. everything that you can put under Negative. Only good thing is that she actually is very beautiful. In The Pretender I found her boring, but in Less that Perfect she is AWESOME, OUTRAGEOUS, COOl, OUTSTANDING. I laugh my butt off even before I see her. She is nearly as good Megan Mullally, who is also mean and stuff like that.

Overall Less than Perfect is GREAT ... very funny, you should give it a try ..

8 Simple Rules... for Dating My Teenage Daughter
(2002)

So sad Paul died :-(
Here, back in Holland, the two episode's with Paul Hennesy dying were aired and I was totally ripped. It was so sad, seeing the Hennesy-clan all crying and stuff. I cried the whole time. It's so beautiful they did this as a dedication to John Ritter, who played Paul Hennesy. Although John was the star of the show, I think the show will manage to keep his head above the water. I hope they will speak of Paul in respect(I'm actually sure of that). I don't know who will sort of 'replace' John, as a second male star, but I hope the family and the show will keep intact. And, with reading the comments, I sure think it does.

The Wedding Date
(2005)

Standard but very funny!!
Because I'm a huge fan of Will & Grace I really was excited about seeing Debra Messing on a totally different side: A Romantic Comedy. Who would have thought that? .. Well, I did, actually, but that's not the point.

Debra Messing plays the role very good. Although the beginning(until Dermot Mulroney steps in) is a little bit boring/slow, the rest of the film is funny with funny one liners and funny characters(TJ is SO cool). Of course, it's just another Romantic Comedy, but hey, who says they're bad? Every once in a while the man must take his girl to a nice movie and if you enjoyed movie's like Picture Perfect, Runaway Bride, Notting Hill, You'll certainly like this!! [8/10]

Charmed
(1998)

Charming enough for me
I got on Charmed from the beginning, when I was 9 years old. I didn't get a lot of it, but hey, it was cool watching creepy monsters, sexy witches, cool special effects and funny lines. I got hooked on the show. This is what I have to say about Charmed.

First of all, I have to say that is quite an thing that Charmed is still running. I didn't had a very good start but WB never planned to throw Charmed of TV. Good thing...It's running for almost 8 years and thats extraordinary for a series like this.

I thought the first episode of Charmed was a little stupid. The Sisters turned into witches like that and I didn't find it realistic with how they dealed(except for Phoebe) with it. The next week I watched it again and that episode made me pass the 'charming' line. I saw Piper having a hard time with being a witch, Prue being growny about her power and Phoebe being excited about having powers ... and that was cool. Charmed has managed to keep the characters the same but yet always a little different each season. Although I didn't like all the characters(like Andy Trudeau) the first season was good.

Season 2 was in my opinion one of the best. The Sisters looked very good and the humor was much better. Greg Vaughan and Leo Wyatt were a good adding and I loved the romance between Piper and those two. This episode was also one of the many fights between Prue and Phoebe, Phoebe for not being responsible and Prue for being so growny all the time .. (not so weird when you're boyfriend dies, but okay).

Lots of things happened in Season 2. The Season final was great and I was really excited about Season 3. Season 3 was nearly as good as 2. Although I've read a lot about the fights between Alyssa Milano(Phoebe) and Shannen Doherty(Prue) I didn't became to worried. It was a HUGE shock when Season 3 final came and I was REALLY shocked when Prue died. She was my favorite character and I didn't understand why they've written her out of the series. I was totally confused about the show stopping, or was the show continuing? I didn't understand it at all and I was very skeptical about how they would go on with Charmed.

I am very happy how they did it. Maybe it was kinda "Yeah-Right-Like-Thats-Gonna-Happen" but I thought the thing about having another 'lost' sister was good. Rose McGowan came in the series as a new kind of Phoebe. In the beginning Phoebe was immature and liked to experience a lot with being a witch. Paige was her name and she did a good job. A very good job. Never was Charmed so dark, with the Cole thing and stuff.

Season 5 was very much like season 4. Dark, hot, romantic, sexy, charming, actioness and very funny. Paige fully made it through Season 4 and I'm happy she did. I still think it's sad that Prue die because she was the coolest(having the coolest and strongest power) but I like it this way, Piper being the hysterical oldest sister with this new blow-up power, Phoebe with the struggle of Cole and Paige being the one without love.

Season 6 was a little disappointing for me, because I really didn't liked Chris. Chris was the stupid "kid from future" who's tend to 'save' something he can't tell. Also I didn't like the adding of Magic School. Unfortunately, Magic School still plays a big part in Charmed.

Well, let's come to the latest season than. Season 7...I hope one day Charmed will be as good as Season 2 of Season 4. Season 7 is fun. But not more than that. Season 2 was fresh, cool, dark and different. Season 4 was funny, hysterical, very dark and also funny. Charmed tends to rely more on the humor, which is good, but I would like to see that sometimes the darkness will come back. I do not say Charmed is losing it's charm, because it ís still a great show, I'm just saying that IF they're getting a Season 8, please quit with magic school and replace it for the underworld.

There is another thing I really liked about the series is the humor. Of course laughing is good, but the humor is still refreshing, even if they make a joke about a hundred times. Also, what I really like about Charmed are the themes. The dressing party's(The Sisters as Vixens, Superhero's) and the "Change-Personallity" things(Piper being a Wendigo, Phoebe being a Banshee, Prue being a Dog, Paige being vampire) and stuff like that. It really keeps me on the show, every time.

Charmed is great, but I think the writing pen gets a little empty. Maybe it should be good if Season 8 would be the last season, because we don't want to see Charmed having a worst ending, like many shows have. Until then, Charmed is charming enough for me ^_^
