The Affair: Episode #5.1
(2019)
Episode 1, Season 5

You had me till Joanie
Totally confusing...had no idea who Joanie was until another episode...completely out of sync with the rest of the story lines...like a totally different TV show was accidentally edited in. Also, grown up Joanie looks nothing like little Joanie. Will fast forward through these futuristic episodes.

Big Little Lies: I Want to Know
(2019)
Episode 7, Season 2

Have You Ever Seen The Rain?
This finale was so eloquently written, gorgeously shot and impeccably acted by all. The beautiful cover of "Have You Ever Seen It Rain" by Willie Nelson tore me up in the final montage and will stay with me. Good work!

The Old Man & the Gun
(2018)

yawn
I love Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek and the two of them shone in spite of the lackluster direction. How can a bank heist movie be such a yawn fest? Not one iota of excitement. You have to try pretty hard to downplay this guys exciting life.

I'm Dying Up Here: The Mattresses
(2018)
Episode 4, Season 2

Shame on you for Stealing Richard Jeni's act
Boy..this episode really disappointed me when you lifted Richard Jeni's act on Relationships and how animals felt no guilt. Great Bit but you need to give credit where credit is due!

The Dinner
(2017)

Two hours with no resolution
I really wanted to like this film. I was intrigued for the first hour. The acting was great but the character development of Laura Linney's role was lacking. I still don't understand her. I would have like to see how her son became so evil and heartless. The ending was a big let down.I actually thought my TV cut out. II wanted to see a resolution. Two hours invested in bs drama.

Desert Flower
(2009)

moved to tears & deep compassion
My mother kept insisting that I watch this movie but I avoided it because of the subject matter. Even in the hospital, the week before she died, she asked, "Did you see DESERT FLOWER yet? You will like it." She died last week on the Eve of Easter and last night I decided to watch it before it deleted from my DVR. I was completely enthralled and every scene drew me in moving me to a deep compassion for these mutilated women. The London fashion model scenes were a pleasant comic respite from the atrocities and it was interesting to see how Waris integrated these two worlds. Although the film has some loose ends and flaws, nothing will make you appreciate your life as a free woman until you see this film. At the very least, you might be inspired to never complain about such trivial matters as the economy, not having a boyfriend or husband or how badly you thought you were treated as a child. At the best, you will be inspired to use the fire in your life to help those who suffer needlessly in the world.
