What on earth are these bad actors doing in a film directed by Zoya Akhtar? The question you will surely as yourself in the first 15 minutes of the film. This is good themed movie ruined by bad screenplay and bad acting. All the actors in it are just bland and straight faced.

Good work in DOP and music but you cannot stand the loose screenplay and terrible acting.

The actors were just not trained enough for such a movie, these are young actors unfortunately also not very sane. Unlike series like Class which had amazing cast also young these series solely tries to be depend on it's esthetics and not on story or acting.

In his interview with Anupama Chopra, Chaitanya confessed that he did not knew a lot about Indian classical music. But his movie speaks a lot about music not just about Indian classical music but music as a whole.

His take on Indian music shows, on online trollers who judge the singers when they hardly know about it, his take on Music mafias, on changing music style of music show contestants, on Fusion bands in colleges, on failure, on aspiring career in music, on on unpaid fees to classical singers, many things 'The Disciple' talks about with its slow camera movement.

The hustle of protagonist Sharad Nerulkar is clearly visible, the slow death of interest of Indian audience towards Classical music is very well felt.

What i loved most about this movie is that it stands unapologetic to itself, did not tried to make people feel relevance, just telling story as is, without adulteration of dramas to please audience, it does not have it's own opinion on many things, it just show what the reality is.

Clearly best movie made about music. Must watch on Netflix.

First movie is about a lover. Typically twists and lust stories and eventually comes down to revenge and tragic ending.

Second story is about class system, power and revenge. Nusrat plays grey character who you will not find perfect, she does the decent acting playing house helper, not the best. Specially when Tillotama Shome's is still fresh in audiences' mind in 'Sir'.

Third movie is hands down the best plot, best movie of this anthology, a LGBT story made correct. It talks about class, patriarch, cast system, equality and much more serious topics of society. Not a love story but the story about acceptance. Loved it. Greatly made.

Konkana Sen Sharma proves again why she is one of the best actor we have.

Fourth film is second best in this anthology, Shefali Shah is another gem of film industry, Manav kaul has done fabulous job. Again note that this is not a love story but the story which teaches acceptance. So the climax is set very wise and heart pinching.

This film is not just about love as it looks like, it is more about respect and admiration and dream. The performance, DOP, Dialogues, Set design and screenplay are excellent.

The movie is go to entertainment film. Few glitches, disappointments but funny entertaining and heart touching. You will feel the character. The ups and down just like Ludo game. Could be better if director had gone for practicality and logic in few scenes. But surely top 10 of this year in India.

This movie speaks everything which needs to be said. about Education, about corruption, about professional rivalry, about government jobs, about rural village conditions.. This is by far one of the best movies I have watched in Marathi language.

This movie is native Brazilian, the movie starts with people eating some pills, The directors have put no efforts to explain audience what those pills are. Few ups and downs happens in entire movie which is Native Brazilian things, we as a international audience do not get any bit of it. This movie will make you angry about what is happening, weird characters, their behaviors are unjustified. No explanation at all. Just a plain 2 hrs video is playing, that's it. Do not waste time.
