Is anyone in the cast playing high school kids in the 80's under 30 in real life?

It's incredibly frustrating to follow the story when you can only see 20% of what's happening on screen. Low light sets to me = low budget special effects. We have LED lights now. I'd go crazy too if I had to live in a dark space station. And smoking? Really?

Half the scenes are at night or indoors with torch/candlelight. Can't make out a bloody thing half the time. May as well listen to the story on an audio book.
