Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
(2007)

An amazing film all around
The new Harry Potter movie was by far the best as of yet. I was amazed. The cinematography was great…acting extraordinary…all around wonderful.

Umbridge made me want to die every time she spoke. Helena Bonham Carter was fantastic as Bella, I was really impressed. Dan really pulled off the struggle Harry is going through...and so on.

The wand fighting as well as the fireworks were astounding. The fight between Dumbly and Voldy was mind blowing. The animals, the Giant, the Centures, the Ministry...the whole set was breath taking.

My only complaint is that I was disappointed a little at the shortness of the ending. For me when Sirius was "killed" (or was he? We'll have to wait and see) it was really Harry trying to cope with it that tore me up. Sirius was one of my favorite characters and I was trilled to see him played by Gary Oldman…but his "death" was not nearly as emotional as it could have been. He was all that Harry had left and now he's gone. It seems like it needed a little more time to set in for the audience and for Harry as well. Over all, a great piece though a little more detail might have been beneficial.

The Tudors
(2007)

A wonderful show even if it is not completely historically accurate
The Tudors is a fantastic show which showcases the life and times of King Henry the VIII. As the opening of the show tells the viewer, "You think you know a story but you only know how it ends. To get to the heart of a story you have to go back to the beginning." I'm sure a lot of people watching the show are watching it for entertainment and not because of its historical accuracy. I personally love Tudor England and know a lot about it. The show takes many liberties, but that's why it's entertainment and not a biographic film on the King. It's fascinating to see what is kept of what many believe to be true and what is changed. Things such as basing Henry's sister Margaret after both his sister Mary and his older sister Margaret is very interesting turn. The first four episodes have been phenomenal works of cinematic art which I hope will continue on for seasons to come.
