I'll admit, this was one of my favorite cartoons on Adult Swim, and I was a big fan of the show ever since my college years. The first two seasons were enjoyable, they had likable characters, they were hilarious and charming. They were smart! Season one really is the best season of the show. This show was once a fun parody of Sealab 2020!
I liked the episode "Radio Free Sealab"; it was underrated and funny. Unfortunately, by season 3, the show definitely started to go downhill. Sure, the last two seasons of Dexter's Laboratory may not have been good by comparison, but Sealab 2021 suffered seasonal rot so much worse than Dexter's Laboratory. This is especially true, given the passing of Harry Goz, the voice of Captain Murphy, who was the main reason anyone watched this show, obviously.
Captain Tornado Shanks just became unnecessary by today's standards, and it has a lot of jokes that aged horribly today. Sharko is the worst character in this show. Stormy became even stupider, and do I have to say it? It contained a lot of shock humor for the sake of a joke. Even Dexter's Laboratory during its revival was better! This is the prototype of Velma in a way.
It's really sad, because I enjoyed this show. But looking back, yeah. This is the weakest of the original Adult Swim shows. I think I'd rather watch Johnny Test, Superjail!, King Star King, Problem Solverz, Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Uncle Grandpa, JJ Villard's Fairy Tales, and Wonder Showzen than this.

I may be Christian, but good god, this movie is such a borefest! Whether you like VeggieTales or not, this movie is not for you. I remember seeing the trailer for this movie. And after finally watching it on the Lumen Entertainment website, I didn't even know why people liked this movie, to be honest. If I have to be real with you here, this movie is so boring!!
I'm amazed that this is actually worse than VeggieTales. It made Superjail!, King Star King, Problem Solverz, etc. All look good by comparison!! For a Christian cartoon inspired by the classic 1966 20th Century Fox film Fantastic Voyage, it's so lame!!! I have a lot of reasons why this "movie" sucks!! First off, the animation is terrible. It's bland, ugly to look at, and felt like they're ripping of the animations of Pixar, DreamWorks, Blue Sky, and even Illumination. Mostly Pixar. Fanboy and Chum Chum looked better than this eyesore.
Second, the writing is bland and lazy. Nothing about this movie made me laugh at all! It takes elements from Beauty and the Beast, and the singing is terrible. This movie attempts to be Pixar, but really fails. I mean... "We're under a tack"?? Where's the pizazz?? I need all the power you can "mustard"?? Lame!! Horrible voice acting, pandering to us Christians, oh, and the music is so boring!!
I had more fun watching Shark Tale of all movies compared to this mess!! The city inside the human body setting was handled way better in Osmosis Jones than in this movie!! If this is the kind of movie that would appeal to Christians, just stay away from this borefest, and watch the Prince of Egypt instead! Heck, I had more fun watching the Beginner's Bible series by Jim Jinkins compared to this!!
I mean, the dad in this movie seriously looks like a discount Bob Parr. I'm not even kidding!! Skiff and AJ have little to no character at all. You know what? I'm surprised this film didn't get any infamy on the internet for how lazy and boring it really is!! Even the last two seasons of Dexter's Laboratory and the Powerpuff Girls were better than this!!
And to think, this movie featured a team of artists who worked on the Incredibles, Ratatouille, Curious George, and even Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie?? I had more fun watching Discovery Kids than this!! Stay away from this movie at all costs!! Or, if you wanna know how bad the film truly is, then see it for yourself.

I really wanted to hate this show so much!! But I was wrong!! I received backlash for how I treated my opinion on Superjail! In the past. You know what? Forget what Doknot1999 said!! And after watching that horrid AI generated South Park ripoff known as "Exit Valley", I'm finally convinced that King Star King is actually a hilarious gory and insane cartoon that I just can't stop laughing at!!
I was wrong about shows like Superjail! And King Star King being horrible. This show is insane, stupid, weird, nonsensical, and drugged up! AND I LOVE IT!!!! You can tell that the show's creator J. J. Villard was influenced by the likes of. Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, Fleischer Studios, Walt Disney, Walter Lantz, Looney Tunes, MGM Cartoons, Roald Dahl, UPA, Tim Burton, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Art Clokey, underground comix, John Kricfalusi, John R. Dilworth, Mad, Richard Scarry, Don Bluth, Genndy Tartakovsky, Hanna-Barbera, Tom Ruegger, Rob Zombie, Stephen Hillenburg, Joe Murray, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Sid and Marty Krofft, Ralph Bakshi, Danny Antonucci, Jhonen Vasquez, Jay Ward, Jim Henson, South Park, Osmosis Jones, Patrick A. Ventura, He-Man: Masters of the Universe, The Real Ghostbusters, Thundarr the Barbarian, Sesame Street, Mike Judge, Celebrity Deathmatch, anime, Doug TenNapel, KaBlam!, Matt Groening, Klasky Csupo, Maxwell Atoms, Schoolhouse Rock!, Yellow Submarine, Classic MTV, Paper Rad, PFFR and Dr. Seuss. It really shows.
Think Beavis and Butt-Head meets Invader ZiM. Shows like this, Problem Solverz, Stone Quackers, Saturday Morning All-Star Hits!, Superjail!, Brothers Grunt, JJ Villard's Fairy Tales (which Villard also created), Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, Uncle Grandpa, and ANYTHING under PFFR were all masterpieces compared to AI generated animated horror like Monster Camp and Exit Valley.
I wanna see a critical reevaluation for shows like King Star King! Even Pan-Pizza from RebelTaxi loves this AND Superjail!, and now I know why!
