Thor: Love and Thunder
(2022)

Good but falls short (spoilers)
I like Waititi, but, like with T3, he has too much humor for a story that should be serious.

The jokes were good, but took away from the seriousness of the situation the characters were in.

Jamie Alexander's return as Lady Sif was drastically underwhelming.

Horrible acting from everyone for the majority of the film, but it did get better in thr second half. Most of the film felt like a mockery to good acting, and the only time the bad acting made sense was the Asgardian Theater scene.

Which, New Asgard being made into a tourist trap was pathetic to watch, talk about becoming sell outs.

The two strongest points of the film were Jane's story line and that of the villian, The God Butcher.

I'm interested to see where they take the daughters story, because as it stands, the ending makes no sense.

Definitely the weakest MCU film. I really dislike that they've let a character with such rich background and development become a joke.

Repo Men
(2010)

Rip-off film
It's a rip off of the rock opera Repo: The Genetic Opera, which was a million times better.

Virgin Territory
(2007)

What am I watching!?
I decided to watch this because of Hayden Christensen. I'm halfway through, and though highly amused, I find myself constantly asking what exactly I'm watching....

It's got the corny feel of a campy porn, without the actual sex. There is plenty of female nudity, and almost every line and action implies sex. There so far is no actual follow through.

It's entertaining if you're looking for campy, stupid humor. Don't look for more than though, this is definitely not intended to have any historical accuracy. The costumes, though good, are in no way realistic to the time. It's like a Ren-fair cosplay gone wild.

Also.... WHAT KIND OF NUNS ARE THOSE!?

Brahms: The Boy II
(2020)

If you liked the first one, don't see this one.
The story follows a boy who stops speaking after a hime invasion, and finds Brahms buried in the woods. In the original, we were led to believe that the doll was created for the Heelshires after they lost their son, who ended up living in the walls. This movie changes that, and takes away tbe elements that made the first movie good and creepy.

This film is predictable with no real plot twist that catches you off guard. The kid is really good though, and if you enjoy movies with cute but creepy kids, then it's worth Redboxing for that.

Katie Holmes is okay, the camera angles used in this film were not very flattering a lot of the times, and did not pull off what they were trying to do. Instead of making her look scared or in suspence, she just looked constipated.

If you enjoyed the original, don't bother with this one. If you just want a movie with a creepy doll and kid, with a few cheap scares, then I guess you'll find it interesting.

Life as a House
(2001)

Easily my favorite film.
I was 12 when I discovered this film, after Attack of the Clones came out.

I am now 30 years old, and I have yet to find a film that speaks to me the way this film does.

The story is filled with believable characters and relationships. The dynamics between Sam and his parents through the film definitely reflected my relationship with my family as I was a troubled youth (though my problems were vastly different and caused by abuse). As a 12 year- old watching this, I saw in Sam what I didn't want to become. Sadly, the events in my life parellled me to him. The movie was, at one point taken away from me, as it was blamed for my rebellion (by my abusers). I didn't see the movie again until I was 18, and survived my own battles with depression and drugs. As I movied into adulthood, I figured my ability to identify with the film had waned. Surprise! I relate to it now more as an adult. I relate with not only Sam more, but with George, Peter, Allyssa, and Robin. Especially after loosing my mom to Cancer.

This is a film for the ages, and I look forward to watching it with my children as they move into their teen years.
