Main Khiladi Tu Anari
(1994)

Funny af.
This movie was inspired from the 1991 movie, "The Hard Way" but in my opinion, I feel like Main Khiladi Tu Anari was the better version, simply because it had a better cast and better script.

The plot goes as follows: Inspector Karan Joglekar (Akshay Kumar) is set on a mission to avenge his brother's killer and after meeting with Mona (Shilpa Shetty), she gets killed by her ex-lover Goli (Shakti Kapoor) and Karan is left on a hunt to infiltrate Goli. His family consist of his sister-in-law (Beena) and Shivangi (Raageshwari). The DSP (Kader Khan) puts Karan on a task to let Deepak Kumar (Saif Ali Khan) follow him while Karan is on a mission which leads to many comic confrontations. Among Karan's team is Deepak, Basanti (Shilpa Shetty in a double role) to play Mona, Ramlal (Kader Khan in a double role), and Deepak's assistant Dansukh (Johnny Lever). The movie gets more comical when Deepak falls in love with Shivangi and Karan falls in love with Basanti.

The movie is not just predictable but not original as it was a remake. However, what makes MKTA more successful is its cast, the music and most importantly, the comedy. After a serious yet successful Divya Shakti, Sameer Malkan made MKTA successful especially making the "Khiladi" series more meaningful with the action genre with Akshay Kumar. The dialogues by KK himself are hilarious as he is definitely a comedian. Now onto the performances.

Akshay Kumar dominates the movie with his action sequences and his "angry young man" gimmick that is trademarked by Big B was used in the film, however his comic sequences was his downfall and his cop act gets boring as usual. Kader Khan and Shilpa Shetty in double roles are absolutely hilarious. Shetty can really put on a comic performance as Basanti but her Mona was a bit too boring. Rageshwari was still raw as she was the typical naive sister. The film should have had someone like Sonali or Karishma instead of Rageshwari. Johnny Lever was funny but Kader Khan was more funnier than him. Shakti Kapoor was menacing.

Saif Ali Khan steals the show with his comical sequences and makes the movie a comedy. From an actor in training to a sidekick, he can pull it off well. His disguises, changing voices, and his chemistry with Akshay are simply just brilliant. Ever wondered how SAK did excellent comedy in Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, and Hum Tum? Well MKTA was his beginning of his comedy acting skills and how he got his first break after Aashiq Awara.

The music was great as well as the entire movie. Watch it if you are a fan of action movies, but also watch it if you are feeling to laugh! Main Khiladi Tu Anari does not disappoint
