BoJack Horseman
(2014)

Very underrated
Bojack Horseman is not another family guy or Simpsons because it actually tells a story that feels real. This is a funny and wacky cartoon but is actually has emotion unlike family guy. In family guy you get the same repetitive episodes pumped out with less emotion as the show goes on. Bojack Horseman manages to be really entertaining and funny but also makes you feel for the characters in the show. All the voice acting and animation is really well done and the writing is very clever at times. This is mostly because it finds a way to make fun of modern society and Bojack is the one who points it out to the audience most of the time.

This is one of the best cartoon comedies I've seen and I would highly recommend you watch it.

Free Fire
(2016)

Really disappointed
I was really looking forward to this film because it has Sharlto Copley, Martin Scorsese as executive producer and it looked similar to reservoir dogs. How was this not good. The main reason was it felt empty, nothing had any consequence and the characters felt generic.

I liked Sharlto Copley in this he did a pretty good job as did Cillian Murphy but everyone else was not good at all. Armie Hammer felt annoying all the way through and so did Brie Larson. Their characters just felt really unlikeable to me. Everyone else in this just felt cringey and worthless.

The worst part of this movie though is there are no consequences at all. Everyone gets shot at least 5 times in this and they just keep crawling around on the ground. This takes away any tension as no one dies until the end really.

I would recommend you don't watch this but instead just go and watch reservoir dogs.

Schindler's List
(1993)

Near Perfection
How did Steven Spielberg make this and Jurassic park at the same time. Spielberg has had some misses in his collection of films, but this is one of his best. However this film would not be the same if it did not have the outstanding cast it has. Liam Neeson in my opinion is incredibly underrated mainly because of films like the taken trilogy and the phantom menace, but his performance in this is so believable as Schindler. Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes also are amazing in this and very convincing.

This film is powerful in it's message and certain scenes could be hard for most people to watch, but this really happened to so many people in the second world war it's almost unbelievable as it's so extreme. I think this film definitely deserved all the Oscars it received as it is one of the most emotional and powerful films to ever be made.

Tangerine
(2015)

Moving and gritty while being funny
This film shocked me at how it can show how bad some people have it while still making me laugh. There are some moments that are sickening and hard to watch but are necessary to really display what the characters go through.

The film starts slow and I found the characters almost annoying at the start but as the film goes on your start to see who they really are and then feel some kind of sympathy for them. There is a lot of dark humor in here not the sort of jokes everybody will find funny.

Overall this is really not an easy movie to watch. This is a film all about characters so I suggest you only watch if your very open minded. This is not an action film or comedy it's a depressing drama so be ready for that.

The Hatton Garden Job
(2017)

Wasted opportunity
This film could have been so much better if more time and effort was put into it. It feels very rushed in every way from the performances to the sound work and camera work. I think if it had a better cast maybe it could have been better I really would have liked to see Michael Caine or even Jason Statham. The film also wasn't very well written and it could have spent longer developing the characters more I think.

Overall it wasn't terrible it just could have benefited from a larger budget it seems. It's not that long either so try it out if you like heist movies.

The Wanderers
(1979)

More people should know about this
This film has been a personal favourite of mine for years and it has always amazed me how hardly any people know about it. This film is so fun and full of charm it feels so real and gritty at times. I can't really comment on whether this film is realistic or not however as I didn't grow up in the era the film is set in but the time period has always fascinated me. In my opinion I prefer this film over films like grease or American graffiti and even the warriors because I just find it so enjoyable. The reason people don't know about this is because the film is pretty hard to find , I had to import my Blu ray online because there isn't a UK release but in the USA more people need to pick it up and try it.
