Midnight
(2006)

If this comes to a festival near you - SEE IT!
Honestly, I have never seen anything quite like "Midnight." As the Saturday night feature at the Boston International Film Festival, I figured it was going to be great and it really was a great experience. The movie is split screen, with both sides being filmed in one take! It is amazing to see the two stories tie together, as it follows the ups and downs of two couples staying in the same hotel on New Year's Eve.

Now I did give it a "10" because it was so original and had a very interesting storyline, but it is quite slow and you need to be patient as you watch the characters and the plot unfold. Believe me, it is worth the wait! This is truly a concept film worth checking out. Hopefully, this will appear at other festivals around the country because it's unique style is not to be missed.

Days Gone By
(2005)

A great and heartfelt story of lost love and opportunity
I saw this film at the Boston International Film Festival and was very impressed with it. It is a short film of approximately 15 minutes, and it has such a powerful story line and great acting that is necessary for a short film to be successful. The lead actor really captures the emotion and allows the audience to feel his pain. The story basically shows what would have happened had a relationship formed between him and a woman he had a brief encounter with years before. The movie leaves you with the feeling of wonder over chance encounters and missed opportunities. This is a great first film for the very talented Writer/Director Court William Dunn. In talking about the film after it was shown, he mentioned that he is in the process of completing a feature that he also wrote and directed by the title of "Midnight in a Perfect World." I look forward to seeing more from this talented new director!
