You Were Never Really Here
(2017)

So bad
My husband absolutely hated this movie. He wanted to shut it off but i forced myself to see it through. It didn't get any better and i had to look up what actually happened because its not even clear. I feel like it had potential if it were more about the actual kidnapped girl. It was confusing to say the least and jumped all over the place. Flashbacks and even delusions made it hard to follow. Very little dialog which makes it that much more confusing too! Joaquin looks so rough in this movie. He's almost her to look at. That's actually how I looked by the end of watching it too. Only giving 2 stars because I have seen worse but this is definitely up there.

The Black Phone
(2021)

Really really good
Very surprised how good this was! Finally a unique movie! It was good from beginning to end. Creepy and fast paced. Don't want to give away many details. It's just really worth the watch if you like horror/thriller movies. Set in the 70s too which I usually enjoy. The music and scenery fit well. The mask worn in this movie will most likely give me nightmares for a while too. I hate movies that make you think or you have unanswerable questions at the end. This movie doesn't do that which is nice. An easy watch. Also the sister in the movie is awesome! She has a potty mouth that'll crack you up!

The Color of Love: Jacey's Story
(2000)

I didn't even want it to end
I have been on a 90s lifetime movie kick on tubi lately and it recommended this movie. I know it's from 2000. But anyways..I really like Gena and Louis so I put it on while folding laundry. I was about a half hour in and hadn't even touched my laundry! I really enjoyed it! The acting was so good from the main characters to even the supporting ones. Jacey is so cute too. I felt everything they were ..it was that kind of movie. I was sad and teary eyed for them then smiling during the happy scenes. To me it seemed like such a realistic story. Sad.. but I loved how it ended. This is one of those movies that will stick with me for a bit. Watch it!

Halloween Kills
(2021)

I'm actually confused it got such bad reviews!
So I waited on watching this because I read his face gets shown and I was not interested in that! I also didn't love the 2018 halloween. Can't stand adult laurie or her daughter or granddaughter. I've been watching halloween since before I should of been able to. Seen them all. Borderline obsessed with Michael myers. So much so that I watch the movies.. rooting for him! So I actually really enjoyed this movie. It started out unbelievable! Seeing all the clips and back story from the 70s had me so excited! I also liked this Michael a lot. He walked slow. Had the head tilt. Was a better build than others for example h20. I was taller than the guy that played him in h20. I. Also loved seeing bracket.. even lindsay. I enjoyed seeing the myers house again. The hospital even if it wasn't the same one. I did NOT like some of the lame scenes like Marion's death.. Tommy..as much as I love Anthony michael hall..he was cheesy. The hospital scenes were sorta goofy at times. I also did not like watching him get beat up because I truly am a Michael myers fan not a Halloween fan only. So again I root for him I blocked the screen when they took his mask. Spoiler.. they do show his face. I managed to not see it thankfully by looking away and keeping my hand up until the few minutes past. I loved that Karen got killed and was bummed she didn't get a more bloody death personally! So overall..I'll watch it again. I'm glad I watched it. You have to expect the lame scenes.. that he is unstoppable. That laurie strode will be super over the top cheesy. That's just how the franchise goes. The deaths were gory and it was fast paced. I actually give it a 7.5!

Lavender
(2016)

Not good until last 8 minutes
It really really wasn't good. It had so much potential too. But oddly only at the end. I feel like they storyline is really sad and it does all come together but takes a long time to get there and it was really really boring. So much felt like it was depending on the music if that makes sense. Like the music was the scary part? And there was so much just staring at the camera from the main character trying to look crazy or whatever her point was. Just didn't do it for me at all. The husband and daughter weren't very likeable along with the main character so was really not my time. Justin long didn't add much either. I'd skip this one if I were you.

River Wild
(2023)

Not sure what is up with the bad reviews
I liked it! I really am not sure about the bad reviews. I wanted an easy and fast paced thriller that didn't make me think much but kept me interested and this did it. And it was free on Netflix so wasn't really taking a big risk. I also didn't see the original so maybe that helped. I though the acting was good and besides the first half hour I felt it was fast paced. I also liked that the 2 main characters are actually married. Haven't seen either in anything in a while. I also really liked the scenery. That added a lot to this movie for me. I would definitely recommend it if looking for an easy watch.

The Poison Rose
(2019)

Oh my God was this a bad movie
We love John.. brendan.. Morgan.. even Robert Patrick..so we decided it has to be good right?? No. It really really isn't good at all. At about 50 minutes in my husband paused it and says "we are in agreement this movie is absolutely terrible right??" In which we agreed and then continued to watch and just make fun of it. From the accents. The storyline. The cheesy lines. It felt like a lifetime movie. The background music was goofy and annoying. Sometimes playing over their lines. They felt like no point to so many characters too. And brendan.... sigh..lol love him to death but what was he thinking??? Morgan freeman is an Oscar winner!! Oh and famke looks weird. Face doesn't move. Clearly she's done something to herself. Just such a lame movie. I can't even get over it. We have been making fun of it for hours so at least we have that. Don't watch it. Go for a run or take a bath. Anything else.

Mr. Harrigan's Phone
(2022)

I feel like you have to go into it open minded
I expected something else. Not really sure what but maybe less dark and more comical and more back and forth between them. I really loved their friendship and I liked the scenery a lot. I feel like quite a few of the supporting characters were really likeable also which is nice such as his dad and the teacher. I feel like as the goofs section points out he shouldn't of been able to call from a phone he had disconnected so that part bugged me. I never get how their are ever goofs in a movie or show. Aren't their loads of people who edit and work on movies? Either way it really kept me interested and for a movie that I didn't have to pay for..I really enjoyed. I love the main characters so that helps. The kid who plays Craig can do no wrong in my book. He's a great actor. If you like his movies then this shouldn't disappoint.

Midnight Mass
(2021)

Really liked it!
I will start by saying i didn't give 10 stars because i agree with others about the long monologues. They seemed unnecessary at times and even hard to follow. If you can get past that though it was a really good and creepy series. Its only 7 episodes so i could certainly get through the rants which from father Paul and Bev felt realistic since I picture church people like them to do that. Speak in the words of God and go on and on. Erin's were a bit much though. The story was clearly out there not almost felt believable if you are like me and think song churches are like cults and some small islands can also be like that. When you are that far removed from life it seems possible to fall for that stuff. I thought the father was excellent. Even when he was "bad" i loved him. All the actors played their parts really well. Bev especially. I liked the twist with father paul and actually the second twist with him revealed at the end with the gunner family. Overall im surprised by the bad reviews. I enjoyed it and so didn't my husband!

Survive the Night
(2020)

Did Bruce lose a bet!?!??
What did i just watch!? Wow was that bad. Considered shutting it off but we paid $7 for it. The acting is horrible. Even from Bruce! It made no sense. Was boring. The just goes on. No one cares about the dead mom/wife/grandmother. They hang out all night in a barn and don't even try to get help. There's cars available and yet again no one goes for help even when the killer is sleeping. The doctor gets shot in the shoulder and somehow had a limp. And also somehow gets a new shirt! There was nothing appealing about this movie. Not one thing. Hated it!

Russian Doll
(2019)

I really really liked this series
It was an easy watch. I found her super likeable! Very funny. Tough but sweet. Unique. Different than every other show out there. I wish there would be a second season but not sure how there could be.

The Way Way Back
(2013)

I absolutely adore this film!!
If it's on..im watching it. Then when its over, i wanna watch it again! It's just an easy and enjoyable movie with so many funny parts and charming characters! Sam Rockwell is a genius in my opinion in everything he's in so im a little bias but in this film he's just that guy you want to know. He's hilarious and sweet. Everyone is just perfect in their roles from Steve carrell as a complete jerk to the character of louis! We are from MA andas have a house down the cape so its extra fun for us to watch and see places we've been etc. But either way its just a good movie. Makes you want summer!!!

A Christmas Detour
(2015)

Loved the supporting cast!
Very typical and cute hallmark movie. Candace is a doll per usual. The main guy Dylan is really attractive so that's a plus! But honestly the best scenes are with Frank and Maxine! They are so realistic to me..more so than any other couple I've seen in a movie. They were funny and fun to watch. Just an easy watch. I definitely recommend

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
(2008)

Seriously... so so good!
It is in a way the typical Hallmark movie but then somehow it's not! In a good way! There's just so much chemistry between the entire cast and everybody's good-looking and funny. Its original. Yet predictable. See it and you'll understand!

Once Upon a Christmas Miracle
(2018)

I definitely liked it..
For the most part this was a very good movie. A little bit different than the average Hallmark Christmas flick since it was more about the health issue than the typical career woman blah blah. I really liked the actress and the main actor was also likable..I do feel like they had some chemistry which was nice. However as someone else mentioned I feel like the surgery and Recovery part of the story was almost romanticized. I know this story is based on true Vance and I'm sure it wasn't like the movie and I understand it's a movie but a little bit more reality with that would have been nice.

Journey Back to Christmas
(2016)

Wow did i love this movie
This did not feel like a hallmark movie. And that's not an insult. Just an observation. We all know hallmark movies are a tad sappy, maybe a little silly or even unbelievable but who cares its a christmas hallmark movie..its what's your want. Simple. Pretty. Fun. Positive. But this movie..although time travel is VERY unbelievable for most...was just so sweet and for me not at all sappy or silly. I went from feeling really sad for Hannah actually thinking about how lost and sad and scared she must of felt to just really loving get character and Jake's character. And it wasn't entirely predictable. The main characters didn't end up together! There wasn't a kiss at the end under falling snow. That wasn't a career woman. It was different. It was most realistic with the current day characters. And Candace Cameron Bure is just cute. Very likable. Really glad I gave this movie a shot!!

Eli
(2019)

What a bad bad bad movie..ugh
Im stunned by the people on here giving it anything other than a 1! I feel generous giving it the 1 star actually! What a horrible movie. I almost don't even get it because it started one way and ended another. It starts painfully boring and slow then out of no where its fast and crazy. I honestly thought my husband changed the channel. It's just...ridiculous. I don't even know what else to say. As someone else stated im considering canceling Netflix because their movies are just getting worse and worse. Don't watch this movie. Seriously.

Fractured
(2019)

Really not a good movie
Ok so the horrendous American accent by the main guy is just so hard to listen to. He's actually hard to understand. His weird facial expressions i guess are due to him being crazy?? Or is it just terrible acting?? I legit can't tell. So i didn't like any of it to be honest. Regardless of which ending. The idea of it just being he was crazy isn't even that bad..but the bad accent, overreacting and just unbelievable scenes just made it a movie. I don't know. My husband didn't mind it. I just really would never recommend it. It was actually frustrating to watch.

The Haunting of Hill House
(2018)

Ugh..started so strong..then fell flat
I loved and was hooked from episode one up until episode 8. Then i wish i didn't watch the next 2. It was just..not good. The long speeches were just brutal. Went from creepy and each character being unique tp them all being these deep poets and everything gets tied up in this heat bow when it really shouldn't! People all of a sudden forgive huge betrayals. I don't think id recommend because its too much of a disappointment at the end. Acting was ok by most. But not all characters are likeable. Most aren't actually. The mother is basically the root of all evil to be honest. Not the house!

13 Reasons Why
(2017)

Shocked by all the bad reviews on here
I personally really liked this series. Maybe season 2 even more than season 1! I think it's interesting to see the aftermath. I think it's very realistic to not be able to let go like clay can't. This awful stuff happens and its important to see it and see how it affects all these different people from parents to other students to the school itself. I really connected to some of these kids. Especially Clay. You feel for them. I don't feel it romanticized anything !

The Prodigy
(2019)

I actually really like it but..
I don't get the prodigy part. Hes not really a prodigy or at least we don't see that in the movie much. So the title bugs me. And calling what he was going through reincarnation seems far fetched to me personally. Seemed much more like possession..which is fine! Just threw me going by the title and all. The movie flew by! So it was never boring. I almost wanted more. The kids acting was awesome. You really felt for him and in the same second you were petrified of him. Overall a good movie. And as a horror fan I will even admit I jumped twice! Worth a watch for sure

Beneath the Leaves
(2019)

We actually shut it off a half hour in
Not sure i have ever not finished a movie but this..this horrific piece of crap...wow. I literally don't have a clue what was going on..no-one of the characters were likeable..nothing made sense. There was like 15 characters introduced in the first 20 minutes and you have no idea who is who. It was oddly sexual and horrible acting. Mira would be embarrassed. Im embarrassed for her and her dad. Dont waste a second on this film. It was insulting.

Bates Motel
(2013)

Binge watched in 6 days all 5 seasons!!!
I am in love with this series. It was so creepy and exciting. It legally had me 5 minutes in. I am a horror movie fan which helps but I honestly think with this cast and the acting no matter what you should give it a chance! Vera and freddie are INCREDIBLE together. Lots of funny parts which surprised me. Love the house and motel..Hitchcock would be proud. Especially season 5! Dylan is a fantastic character. Chick and Alex are also great in their own ways. It's hard to watch but hard to look away! I may watch it again Andy i just finished the finale an hour ago!

Welcome to Marwen
(2018)

Just....not good.
I wanted to like this movie so bad because i love the cast but its just not a good movie. I am giving it 3 because I love Steve. It was just odd. You never really feel that connected to his character..at least i didn't..in the way i wanted to. You don't get a ton of backstory. It felt really rushed. I didn't think leslie did a great job in this movie personally. Not that she's ever over the top in her roles but she was really blah in this one. For me it just didn't live up to the hype. Was very disappointed.

The Drowning
(2016)

Really Really not good
Had potential. Was holding my interest until half way through when my husband was like..id anything gonna actually happen??..then i went oh yeah! There was never that one scene that every thriller has where its thrilling! Things are explained! Nope. Just pointless scenes that Really sent no where. Then it was over. Only have it a 5 because i thought the kid who played Danny was pretty good. Scenery was nice.
