Into the Woods
(2014)

I love this
This is one of those movies that I've never forgotten about. I saw it in the theater when it came out and I remember being so mesmerized by it because it was nothing like I was expecting. Up until then, I had never heard of this musical.

I was surprised to see how dark it could be. I've only recently seen parts of the original stage version, and it has, just like the movie, great acting and singing.

A lot of people criticize the second Act and I certainly remember being so confused in the theater when the movie didn't end at the wedding.

Act II is not perfect but I still really enjoy it. I love the "your fault/last midnight" rendition as well as "children will listen", that by the way, I love the message of that song.

The movie's biggest haters are the fans of the original stage version. If you are not fan or have never seen it, I don't think you'll find major issue with it.

I think it is lovely, different, dark and humorous. I just really enjoy it. James Corden is definitely the weakest link, but the rest of the cast is fantastic. And also, Jack's super heavy british accent is everything.

Simón
(2023)

if you're not Venezuelan, it probably wont do anything for you
This is the movie on everybody's mouth right now in Venezuela.

It deals with one of the most, if not the most trying, horrifying and heart wrenching moment in Venezuelan history, which were the 2014 and 2017 protests when hundreds of young people (most of them students) were mercilessly killed by the national army.

Well, the movie doesnt depict those moments, it just shows you glimpses of it, as the movie is about a young man who participated in those protests and then moved to Miami, and now he is dealing with PTSD, basically.

Even though I am Venezuelan and I lived through those times, the film didnt really impacted me emotionally for the most part.

I think maybe it was the lack of Venezuela in general, as the majority of the movie takes place in Miami. There's only one shot of Caracas, and then the scenes that take place in Venezuela happen in a run down abandoned horrible place where our protagonist was held captive.

The monologue by Franklin Virguez was definitely the highlight of the film. The lighting in that scene, everything was terrifying. The protagonist's acting was pretty good too.

But in general, I think it lacked contrast, it would have been more effective if they showed some happy times in our protagonist's life in his home country and they should have definitely added his parents to the story since dozens of parents lost a child during those protests, and many of them were constantly on the news.

I also was not sold on the action of the film being the whole situation with the medicine.

I dont know, I think this movie is by Venezuelans for Venezuelans, it really doesnt have that universal thing about it, it feels way too specific, if that makes sense.

And that universal aspect is precisely the amazing thing about movies. You can watch a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with you or your country, that was made in a time when you weren't even born, and that movie can resonate with you in ways you Never imagined.

But as I mentioned in the title, this film will probably only resonate with venezuelans for the most part.

And it is the type of movie people will love simply because of the subject matter, not because the movie itself is actually great.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch
(1982)

There's no witch
I was certainly expecting something supernatural, given the title. But it is more sci fi. I was not a fan.

Reading the description I thought it was gonna be like Goosebumps' the Haunted Mask. But instead it's about chips and robots.

It had very interesting concepts, like the whole stonehenge situation, but honestly the droid thing was just uninteresting and not scary. But I think it's a matter of personal perference, i am not a sci fi fan in general.

The music was great, and the jingle playing throughout the entire movie is very creepy.

But overall, it is a bit slow and not that exciting. I was expecting a real witch, rituals, dark magic, stuff like that, but it has none of those, at least not in the way you'd expect.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame II
(2002)

Missunderstood art piece
This is regarded by many, as the absolute worst disney sequel ever made. A lot of people didnt get it.

Yes, the animation is kind of crappy, but at the same it is extremely provocative and charming. It looks like a 90's anime, which in a way it is since this was made in Japan in the 90's but for some reason it wasnt released until 2002.

Unlike many other disney sequels that are just rehashes of the original, this one does something completely different.

We get a completely new Villain, completely new motivation and completely different personality than Frollo.

Quasimodo finally gets a corresponding love interest. I dont get why so many people are against this. I have seen many arguments saying that at the end of the first one he gets the love from the people or whatever. I dont get why the ending of the first one means he cant have a girlfriend now.

I loved this as a kid. I rewatched it and although it has many flaws, it has a lot to enjoy. It is the product of a bygone era, something like this could never ever be made today.

Flawed and Missunderstood, and punished for it.

101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure
(2002)

It's the first one, but different
This is one of the very few Disney Sequels I hadnt seen. These sequels are almost always one of two things. They are either something completely different many times contradicting the events of the first film, or they are an alternative version of the original.

This one is the latter. The story is basically the same as the first one, Cruella once again wants the puppies for the fur, Jasper and Horace help her again.

Once again the puppies escape, once again there is a car chase.

Perdita, Pongo, Anita and Roger are barely in this one though. But In the end everything remains the same.

Lars was quite funny though, I really enjoyed that character.

American Horror Story: Multiply Thy Pain
(2023)
Episode 1, Season 12

Off to a good start
American Horror Story has not been the same for some time now. Last two seasons were terrible. But this one at least, so far, is making me care for the characters.

Emma Roberts is always such a delight to see, I'm really rooting for her. I dont mind Kim Kardashian, I think the fact alone she's there makes it very campy, which is a disctinct characteristic of american horror story.

However, at some point, AHS took a departure in terms of production quality. There used to be a sense of grandiosity and lavishness in previous seasons. Like Coven, Freakshow, Asylum, Hotel, they had this amazing settings, great camera work and editing, and now, since season 10, AHS now looks like a lifetime movie.

But I quite enjoyed the episode, looking forward to seeing what happens.

Barbie
(2023)

In your face shallowness
I was really excited to see this movie when I saw it was in the making a year ago. Even more so when the trailer released, I loved the 2001 Space Odyssey reference.

When it finally came out, and started to hear the reviews, the excitement slowly went away to the point I didn't watch in the theater, but waited to stream it at home.

I finally watched it and the critiques were not wrong. It is so incredibly in your face, preachy and just plain unengaging.

I didn't care for a single character. It is very obvious what they were going for, with the whole existentialist premise, but the dialogues were as deep and emotional as a tumblr post(When that was a thing)

There were very specific parts I enjoyed, but overall, it was not a good or lasting movie experience.

The set pieces in Barbieland were gorgeous, the costumes too, and the last scene with Ruth Handler was really nice, loved the light effects and the use of the Billie Eilish song, it would have been a very emotionally powerful scene had there been a better movie before it.

However, I appreciate the fact that in the end it doesn't pick a ''side'', but rather gives the message that men and women need each other, and that a matriarchy or a patriarchy is not the ideal world they think it is in the beginning.

Elvis
(2022)

Sparked a love for Elvis I didn't have
Prior to watching this movie, I wasn't a fan of Elvis, I liked some of his songs but that was it. But my God, this sparked a love and admiration for Elvis I didn't have before. I have become such a fan after seeing this film.

I saw it when it premiered last year and have seen it around 3 times more since. I can't get enough of it. It is pure fun from the get-go. Some people don't like the editing, I personally love it, I think it works perfectly with the movie, the montage they did of his performances at the International is amazing.

The Costumes are gorgeous, I want all of them, I actually wish we could have seen more because there are a few costumes that only appear for a few seconds. The sound is fantastic too. This has to be experienced in the theater, it was one of the best movie theater experiences I've had. I've watched it at home and it just doesn't hit as hard.

Actually, three people I know that have only seen the movie at home, they all told me they wish they could've seen it in the theater.

There are only a few downsides. I wish Elvis' mom appeared more, I know their relationship was very close and I wish she had more screen time. Priscilla as well, we don't get to see much from her. But I understand putting an entire life in 2 and a half hours can be challenging so I suppose they had to leave a lot of stuff out.

Also, not enough Elvis Music, I was not a fan of them using modern songs, and Elvis has sooooo many songs and they only used like 2% of his catalogue.

But Overall this is great, it left me wanting more, I wish a longer cut is released very soon. Baz Luhrmann said that could be a possibility.

Caligola
(1979)

Not bad at all
This movie gets way too much hate. It is not even close to being one of the worst movies I've seen.

Malcolm Mcdowell is fantastic as always. It is worth seeing just for his performance alone.

I was also really impressed by the costumes, I thought they were gorgeous. My favorite was the one Caligula wears near the end which is a gorgeous metallic green. You can tell the effort put behind not only the wardrobe but the hairstyles and the sets, they are some of the best aspects of the film. The costume designer Danilo Donati actually won some Oscars because of his work in other films.

Now, everybody who dislikes the film do so because of the very explicit porn. I agree most of the time is excessive and goes on for way too long, I think because of the nature of the story and character a certain amount of explicitness works, but for the most part I find it too be too much and too long.

If you take away the porn, this movie would be far better received. There's an actual story and it has great performances for the most part.

It is not perfect however, I do feel the movie stayed one note from beginning to end, doesnt feel like a 3 act story but it was worth it in the end. I am really looking forward to watching the new version that premiered at Cannes this year, hoping it becomes available to the general public very soon.

Blonde
(2022)

Definitely Haunting
I saw this several months ago and it has stayed with me ever since so I had to write my thoughts on it. It was a bit hard to sit through, quite long and very depressing. This is not an uplifting movie at all. I am not quite sure how to feel about it.

I think the artistry of it was great, the cinematography, the lighting and the editing were almost impeccable. You can tell the people behind it really care about their craft.

Ana was fantastic, the characterization was great.

I know this is a very polarizing movie and I can totally see why. It is very unconventional in the way that it's constructed. Sometimes it feels surreal and dreamlike. It is one of those you have to see for yourself, I don't think anyone will watch this and be indifferent about it. I definitely need to give it another viewing.

Morte a Venezia
(1971)

Incredibly Boring
This might just be the most boring movie I've ever seen. I thought ''Gosford Park'' was dull and uninteresting but this one beats it.

How can there be a film where all that happens is this man staring at a boy for 2 hours, with some flashbacks thrown in there.

I only watched it because of Dirk Bogarde whom I had seen in ''The Servant'' which I love, and ''Victim'' which was pretty good too.

I like when a movie takes its time, I absolutely do, but this wasn't moving slow, it just felt like it wasn't moving at all. I also really like 70's cinematography and those zoom ins that I think work very well when done right. At the top of my head I think of A clockwork Orange, which does a fantastic use of them. But my God, the excessive use of zoom ins in this film are distracting, there is a zoom in about every other minute.

The music and the costumes were nice, but with basically no plot or development, those aspects become worthless. I'm just truly surprised at how uneventful this movie was.

La montaña sagrada
(1973)

Horrific
Absolutely distasteful and grotesque. I like weird films, I like surrealism, but this is just horrifying, it makes you feel terrible.

It englobes everything people hate about modern art. I don't think you have to necessarily understand a film in order to enjoy it, I like lots of films I don't understand 100%. Inland Empire being one of them for example, it is surreal, it is unconventional, scary at times, but there is something very compelling about it. This makes Inland Empire and Eraserhead look like Eat, Pray, Love.

It is just plain horrific and tasteless all throughout, not enjoyable whatsoever, the people giving this a 10 need to be serious for a moment.

O Lucky Man!
(1973)

A one of a kind
This film quickly became a favorite of mine. I watched it for the first time about a year ago and just rewatched it to confirm it.

It is very very unique, so many things happen in this movie, but never do they feel out of place. It's a surreal but extremely compelling and whimsical story.

No one else could have played Travis. Malcolm Mcdowell exudes such genuine innocence, naivety and kindness in a way I have not seen anybody else do. He is a master at portraying this. His character is very very reminiscent of Alex Delarge, but only after he is ''cured'' in a clockwork orange. Not only the character but one can draw many parallels from scenes of this movie to scenes from a clockwork orange, there are also actors from that movie in this one, not only Malcolm.

The soundtrack is also fantastic and works so incredibly well with the movie, not having it would ruin the experience totally.

I also find interesting that the original US release excluded the whole scene with the preacher and the suicidal woman, since they are some of the absolute best scenes in the entire film. There is only one time I feel the movie drags a bit, and that's when Travis becomes Patricia's father's assistant, but nothing that brings down the film significantly.

The movie is not for everyone, there is a sense of epicness about it that is so unique, it's not epic in the way a period or war film is, it's something totally different. It truly is a journey and the ending is so satisfying. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like an entire lifetime put on film, even though the movie does not encompass that, but it feels like it. A very unique and special movie, there is truly nothing else like it.

Legend
(1985)

What a big production used to be like
First off, I watched the Director's cut. What a beautiful film when it comes to visuals. The forest looks so dreamy and fantasy-like, the make up was incredible, especially that of Darkness and ''Meg'', fantastic, so refreshing to see what Practical effects could do back then. It's truly mind blowing to see how an almost 40 year old film looks better than 99% of big productions these days.

It already has some of the absolute best cinematography I've ever seen. Two of my favorite scenes were when Jack goes underwater to find the ring, so fantastically well made and so satisfying to see what an actual underwater scene looks like and not just somebody in front of a screen pretending to be underwater.

The scene when Lili dances with the Darkness was fantastic as well, not only the dance scene but everything from the moment she enters that room, fascinating.

The shots of the green eyes glowing in the dark were gorgeous too and One of the last shots with Gump and the unicorns looked like something you could hang on a wall, simply beautiful.

There were only a few things I didn't love about it. Mostly the performances, they felt too artificial. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like acting made for voicing an animated feature. It wasn't bad acting, it just was the style of it. Mostly from Jack and Lili.

I also wish they would have been more daring with the fate of the villain, because at one point we do see that he has a heart. The dynamic between him and Lili feels like that of Beauty and the beast, I actually read it was one of the director's inspirations. So it would have been nice to see that explored more.

That is what hinders the movie a bit for me, but still I really enjoyed it, it is a reminder of what a big hollywood movie used to be like. Whatever happened? Most movies of this scale today have all the artistry sucked out of them.

The Little Mermaid
(2023)

Sweet and cute
I honestly had no expectations for this movie. Disney live actions have all been quite bad except for Cinderella. But I was really surprised to see this was actually enjoyable although very flawed.

First of all, the things I didnt like: Changing the musical intro with Ariel Sisters to just a reunion with triton.

NO palace, where is that gorgeous golden structure from the original movie, here it's just some rock formations, lazy.

The wardrobe, specially Ariel's, where was the pink and silver dress, or something similar that was more appealing than what they gave her.

Javier Bardem, I found him too one dimensional, maybe it is the writing or director's fault cause we all know he's an amazing actor

But the main thing I didnt like were the visuals in the underwater scenes, the mermaid movements, everything looks too plastic and fake, the part where triton destroys Ariel's stuff should have been amazing to look at but it was very meh. There are some really beautiful shots underwater but I definitely enjoyed the on land part of the movie a lot more. Not only visually but I felt like the movie started to flow a lot better after Ariel gets her legs

Now the parts I did like:

Halle's voice is just beautiful, like an angel, I even got goosebumps in some parts

The music, the new renditions were ok, especially Ariel's songs, and the new songs were not bad at all, my favorite one was the one she sings in her head after arriving on land. The scuttle rap was terrible though

And my favorite change/addition was Ariel's and Eric's relationship. It is expanded so much more, they share more time together, they discover they have the same interests, they have a really nice scene where he is showing her all her stuff. Ariel's fascination with the human world is also expanded more here.

Overall, it is far from Disney's worst live action and it is far from being a masterpiece or anything. Was it necessary? No, is there any reason to watch it besides it being the live action of the animated classic? No, what I mean by this is that, there are some Disney Live Actions that stand on their own, for example, Alice in wonderland, 101 dalmatians, Cinderella, you watch those because they are their own thing. This one is in the same category as aladdin and beauty and the beast where it feels like a shot for shot remake, a bit better than those two, but still not saying much. It was a sweet conventional movie, despite of what the controversy might make you think, this was very conventional.

Barbarian
(2022)

First act is amazing
I just watched this in the theater, not knowing anything about it. The first act is truly suspenseful, keeps your attention the entire time, not knowing at all what is going to happen next, keeps you guessing is this a killer story? Supernatural?

And the premise of an airbnb being booked by two people on the same date is a fresh idea. Normally a horror film featuring a house as the main location, is almost always a family moving in or whatever, so this brings something new, which I really enjoyed. The tension is fantastic. The whole first scene in the basement was just wonderfully made, honestly hadn't felt such tension in a movie in I don't know how long.

Then, the second and third act I thought were not as good as the first one, it becomes a much more conventional story with lots of horror movie tropes and a surprisingly not so unusual theme for a horror movie, but enjoyable nonetheless.

The Music and camera work were disctintively good.

Overall it was definitely worth watching it in the theater, and would watch it again in the future for sure.

Possession
(1981)

Too Abstract
I just finished watching this film. I was interested in seeing it because of the title and because of Sam Neill, whom I had seen in The Omen 3 and was really impressed by his performance in that movie.

I don't even know how to explain this movie, it's a really really personal experience. Cinematography is disctintively interesting and beautiful, the settings and their textures and colors really go with the tone of the film. Truly, all of the main settings look really good and they all have such a disctintive atmosphere. The main apartment with the all white tile bathroom with that long window, the small white kitchen, the rocking chair. Anna's apartment which is in an old building, the apartment has really high ceilings and worn out wall papers; it's nice to see that contrast between the modern and clean versus the old and decayed.

Even places that only appear shortly like Heinrich's Apartment are wonderfully portrayed; it has a room filled with plants as well as his mother's bedroom also filled with plants, but the amount of plants and the way they are placed is what makes it stand out. And the last place we see which is a really spacious house (we dont see the outside so it could be an apartment too) and has a very disctintive hexagone black tile bathroom. The settings in this movie are really really well done and they help create a wonderful and particular atmosphere for the film, it enhances the viewing experience for sure.

. The acting is extremely particular, you have really weird sudden reactions and mannerisms, there are some really intense scenes, in terms of the performances.

But I did find it too abstract, there's really not a defined structure or anything, not that a movie needs it in order to be good, but that's just how I felt, I felt it was too loose. The cuts between some scenes were really abrupt, and the music choice in one particular scene was just odd.

I rate it 7 because that's the number I feel matches how much I liked the movie, not necessarily how good it is. Definitely need another viewing or two.

Baskets
(2016)

Season 1 is excellent, S2 is great, S3 Has great moments, S4...
If it was only season 1, I would rate it a 10. The first Seasons is why I fell in love with the show. The type of humour is my absolute favorite, and I loved Penelope, I was very disappointed when I realized she wasn't in any other season. Well, she appears in S2 and 4 but only for a couple episodes. She was such a great complement to the character or Chip.

S2 was pretty good, not as good as the first one, but still pretty solid. S3 has really good moments, I particularly love the episodes about the opera, the trip to vegas and when they want to film the commercial for the rodeo.

S4 however was a major dissapointment. I felt like nothing happened, everything was skippable, and from season 2 onwards, Chip is just less and less as a clown.

Also I didn't like what they did with the characters of Martha and Dale on S4. Martha is now sort of aggressive which is nothing like her in previous seasons. Dale is now this weird stereotypical republican trailer park 2nd ammendement crazy guy and I dont know, I didn't like that, nor did I find it funny. The only episodes worth watching are the first and last one. But even so, it didn't feel like it got a proper closure.

And also, one of the reasons I fell in love with the show was that it didnt have any jokes relying on current politics and social stuff, in seasons 2 and 3 there are a couple jokes like that, but in season 4... Too many, I mean, for this show it was too many, so unfunny. Like the whole situation with dale in the restaurant... cringe.

However, Christine is the only character that remains perfect all throughout the show. I have never ever seen such a great portrayal of a woman, by someone who is not a woman. It is beyond fantastic. He doesn't try any weird mannerisms or be or sound feminine and exaggerated, and still it is as if he was an actual mother. Sometimes I just can't believe how good Louie is in this role.

The Lake Vampire
(2018)

Venezuelan cinema is getting there
National films are slowly getting it. This movie is really well made, in terms of technical aspects. It is really well shot, lighting is great, sound etc.

It also has a very unsettling atmosphere all throughout, it was kind of disturbing actually, although there's not much gore in it, the times there is, are really bloody disgusting, they nailed that.

The acting however... This always happens in every venezuelan movie I have seen, it sounds like a play, it was kind of distracting. Characters speak as if they were reciting or narrating, they don't sound as if they were actually speaking to somebody.

Overall, it is worth the watch, specially if you have seen other venezuelan movies, this one stands out.

Doctor Strange
(2016)

Generic big budget movie
I wanted to see this movie because I haven't seen that many new super hero movies they've put out over the last 10 years.

I wanted to see what the hype was about and I wasn't wrong, it's just a big budget hollywood film, generic, nothing special about it. Wooden acting, they sound as if they were reciting their lines, specially Tilda Swinton. Every character is very one dimensional.

It's just dull and plain unengaging. Movies like this should go all the way, but it feels they only do the bare minimum. I didn't care for any character, and the movie also looks boring. A film with a plot like this should have breathtakingly beautiful visuals and disctintive music, but everything looks and sounds like a regular modern movie. The effects were cool to watch, yes, was it memorable? no. Although the scene in the beginning where he is like flying through different dimensions discovering all of this for the first time was really pretty to look at. Really nice colors.

Overall I wish super hero movies were unique, engaging, unforgettable art pieces but everything I've seen looks and feels like a copy of a copy.

Clouds
(2020)

I really wanted to love it
I was looking forward to seeing this movie ever since I saw the announcement. I've known Zach's Story for quite a while and I love the song Clouds.

But this was way too sappy, so many quotes that nobody in real life says, it felt too fake. You know when a movie tries so hard to be emotional? this one did.

It also felt quite rushed, especially when they travel, everything happens too fast, I also feel there wasn't enough Zach and his insight of things. It's like he's just there.

It's a shame because his story is very moving but the film failed to capture that, songs were nice tho.

If you like this type of film, I recommend Now is Good and 50/50, they're far better in my opinion.

La noche de las dos lunas
(2018)

Feels convoluted and underdeveloped
Plot is basically these: Two women go the same day to the same clinic at the same time to get an In vitro fertilisation, but they get mixed up because their names are very similar.

Concept was interesting but the plot feels convoluted and at the same time underdeveloped and it feels like it stretches out.

First problem is the gay best friend character, whom immediately accepts her friend's request of having his sperm for the IVF. That scene was so weird, he obviously reacts harsh to it and literally the next scene is him at the clinic ready to do it????

He also has a boyfriend that shows up after all of this, they have a kiss scene and stuff that goes nowhere, I think all of that should have been put after her friend first tells him and before all the clinic stuff. It just feels weird somebody would so quickly agree to such a thing.

There's a musical scene with the main character in the woods which I thought was very lovely and well made. There's also a very beautiful shot of the main character near the end that almost looks like a painting, I was quite impressed by that.

The mother is a straight up alcoholic mother trope, and all of the acting is very wooden and fake, but this is something that happens in every venezuelan movie I have seen, it's just the way they speak sounds so forced and rehearsed, I have yet to see a national movie where the characters speak naturally.

The make up and hair do of the singer character was terrible.

Overall, enjoyable movie, I get what they were going for, don't think it translated that well.

The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure
(1998)

Dumb but pretty funny
This was (is) my favorite Swan princess movie as a kid. For some reason I never had the first one, and the second one even though I had it on VHS I don't recall ever seeing it, maybe I watched it one time and found it boring so I never watched it again.

This movie is pretty silly, but I think it is pretty funny, specially Rogers, Queen Uberta and Zelda, for some reason I find them hilarious. It is just so dumb when Zelda disguises herself as a german maid(?) and Rogers falls stupidily in love with her, and when she leaves he goes insane and sings a song which along with Zelda's song I think are the best ones.

I really like that they cut down on the animals because they are a bit annoying and in the first one they give them too much screen time, in here they give them what they truly deserve.

The whole talent show thing is so silly but funny, specially Uberta with the whole tango thing.

It's basically an alternative version of the second one, but does it a lot better.

Quest for Camelot
(1998)

Tries too hard too be Disney
I'd watch this film as a kid all the time, after watching it again after so many years it definitely doesn't hold up that well.

You can tell from the very beginning it tries way too hard to be like Disney, and it is no wonder since this came out around a time where Disney was being incredibly succsesfull witch each film they put out.

Kayley is just way too generic, the villain as well, those two are one of the biggest problems of the film. But the biggest one is definitely the two headed dragon, they're just plain annoying. Garrett is by far the best part of the movie, he is a great character.

The music is actually quite good, I really really enjoy Garrett's song and that whole sequence was really well made. The scene where the mom sings is kinda weird, I get what they were going for but they should have at least put it in slow mo and remove the noises from the creatures and simply leave the song, which is pretty good as well.

Overall it is pretty generic, but it has some really good songs.

The Secret of NIMH
(1982)

Uniquely beautiful
I had never watched this film until now, looking through Don Bluth's filmography I realized the only movies from him I grew up watching were Anastasia and Bartok the magnificent, which contrary to many kids, I could always tell they were not from Disney,

I was very pleasantly surprised with this, I was hooked on it from the very beginning. I absolutely loved the misteryous dark tone it had, I love when animated movies are not afraid to be serious. The music was perfect and it was a very good decision to not have any songs sung by any characters.

The animation is one of the most beautiful I have seen, backgrounds were breathtaking, the use of colors was phenomenal, this is what you call a piece of art.

It was all fantastic until the end was approaching where it felt a little flat for me with that whole sort of villain which had like less than 10 minutes of screen time, I don't know, that whole concept about him felt weird.

Other than that, it is absolutely worth seeing even if you are an adult.
