I Found Stella Parish
(1935)

Francis, Jason and Hunter!
Sad to see the unacceptable comments about Sybill Jason posted. She was a doll. Look at "I'm a little Big Shot" and watch her magic. Kay insisted that Jason take another part in a movie in which she played her daughter. Her acting is precious and remember folks, she was being coached. I feel that people are unjust in speaking of a child they way they did on the comments. Kay Francis and Ian Hunter are magic. The scene where Gloria (Jason) is crying for her mother to Hunter is so real. Watch it, enjoy it and remember when year it was made. There will never be another Kay Francis. I wish more of her movies were available to purchase. I recorded several and my DVR crashed and lost all of them so I am buying them little by little but some are hard to find and TCM shows them only rarely.

Mary Stevens, M.D.
(1933)

Classic Francis Tear Jerker-
Classic Kay with the greatest sidekick in the world of Glenda Farrell. Kay plays Mary Stevens MD and harbors a deep love for Lyle Talbot whom she attended medical school. He marries above his station and Kay watches from afar while grinding away in her medical office. On a much needed vacation, the two run into each other. Francis running from the stress and overwork of her practice but also trying to forget Talbot. Talbot is running away from legal issues and his marriage. They decide to marry as soon as Talbot can divorce but that is delayed by his father in law. Francis discovers she is pregnant just as she gets news of Talbots wife also expecting. Off to Paris for Kay to have her child with Farrell in tow. She has a darling boy and gets news that Talbot will be free and his wife's pregnancy was a lie. Before they are united, their baby contracts a life threatening illness. The rest of the story is a weep fest. Kay delivers with a touching and tender scene in the ships infirmary with her son.

Little Big Shot
(1935)

Classic Must See!
This movie is one of the best and the cast could not have been better. Jason's acting and singing are superior and Armstrong, Horton and Farrell are amazing. Too bad Jack LaRue was often overlooked as a fine performer. This movie needs more exposure and hopefully Amazon will have it available soon for instant video. If you have not watched this movie, do it soon. Check listings at TCM and if you have a DVR, record it. I have watched it over and over and only wish I had a hardcopy. The thugs are creepy but Sybil's darling acting is stellar and her sweet accent just add more to the " I'm a Little Big Shot" is precious and priceless.
