Great film until they decided they wanted a sequel! Back in the 90's if a Horror/Thriller came out called The Super you'd expect a Super of a building killing off the tenants without any supernatural elements and perhaps not even a twist, might see the Super doing all the killings like films called The Stepfather. I've seen a review say the title is misleading? It's called The Super, a new tenant moves into a building and is the new Super.....you don't get to see who or what is doing the killings but the opening kill was pretty cool as were other kills in this film, though they are done so like we've seen in other supernatural flicks where the air appears to be grabbing or attacking so you conclude this won't be straight forward like the Stepfather. The Super appears 2 have 2 daughters, a tween and her 7 year old sister, the mother had died. The film gives the janitor a creepy vibe played by Val Kilmer but the film isn't called The Janitor, it's called The Super but it comes with a twist which was good , it all made sense , The Janitor was onto what was going on the whole time though I wish they explained how, other than that the twist isn't what killed the film. Beverly picking up the crowbar killed the movie and they did this just because they got greedy and wanted to leave the door open for an obvious sequel, this moment is what pissed so many off and why they passionately bash the film in entirety. They are passionate because they got into the movie, the twist hooked them but then that moment came and ruined everything. Now if they had Beverly being able to see Rose the entire film with a backstory of loosing a child herself and had been bonding with her the moment things started than the scene with the crowbar would of been more believable. When you're told a ghost of a little girl exists, thus ghost pops up out of thin air right in front of you so you know you were told the truth ...smh it was simply a stupid decision to add this scene. Ultimately it destroyed the film completely. This moment doesn't change the fact that the guy who plays The Super did a great job and other than maybe the little girl no one stood out as unlikable or of need of acting classes. If that was the case these reviewers would not of watched it til the end. If I was watching this on tv and just as Beverly picked up the crowbar the power had gone out and I never got to see the very end, I would of presumed the predictable route and been left thinking I didn't really miss anything and would of been left satisfied,
