Den of Thieves
(2018)

Stopped watching after the first 10 min
This is one of the worst made movies I have ever seen. The opening scene is so poorly directed that it just made me stop watching.

Movies cannot be perfect and I understand that but when you spend a significant time of the movie where your main characters are drilling and removing the windscreen of a stationary armored truck and ripping off the hood in the process, you can't have the same truck in perfect condition with not one but windscreens, the next second. Yes you read correctly. They used 2 different trucks where one of them had one big windscreen and the other had 2 divided by a frame in the middle. If there was a high speed chase and a window got broken in one scene and was shown there the next scene, I would understand. But when you have a key scene removing the windscreen you cannot possible have it there the next moment let alone have a different truck with a different design of the windscreen. That is too stupid even for America.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi
(2017)

A review from a non Star Wars fan
I have to start by saying that I am not a Star Wars fan, however, I am a big space and sci-fi fan and therefor I generally like these kind of movie.

I would like to start with the positive and it is worth mentioning the incredible visual effect. The space battle were amazingly illustrated. I liked that the opening scene was a battle scene and I must say my admiration go for the scene with the light-speed jump as it was a masterpiece.

However this scene was just a few second long and that does make a movie. What I did not like in the movie was the Fast and Furious type story whith so many plot holes and absurdities that was even annoying at some moments. As I mention the opening battle scene had amazing visual effect, however it term of narrative it was ridiculous and honestly offensive to my intelligent. On top of everything they tried to create suspense by threatening to kill basically every main character in the first 10 minutes of the movie. That was obviously not going to happened so it only made the stretching of the scene annoying.

The biggest issue that I found with the movie was the main story line. On the good side it was not a remake of the previous episodes but it had a major plot hole making it just stupid. SOME SPOILERS AHEAD! Basically the whole movie was the resistance being pursued by the first order in space using non light speed as the first order could track ships in light speed. In the movie it was literally said that the ship of the resistance was lighter and therefore faster in non light speed but it never went ahead of the first order's ship and instead stayed ahead with the same distance from the pursuers ships during the whole very long pursuit. On top of everything the first order never used their light speed to cut them off and ambushed them. NO MORE SPOILERS During the whole movie there were many plot holes made simply in order to make the story. It is like the screenwriters never put much thought into the narrative and just used absurd conveniences to advance or create the story.

In terms of acting i have to say that I really did not like Mark Hamill. Maybe I was expecting too much from him. In general the actin was ok with some overacting here and there.

One was thing I have to mention is the attempted humor. I think that the correct humor at the correct time can make a big improvement to the movie but they failed in my opinion to achieve that.

Overall if you want to watch mindless scenes with stunning visuals this is the movie for you. If you want a good coherent story that is definitely not the movie for you.

The Legend of Tarzan
(2016)

Was that a sequel?
A complete fail!

This movie looks like it was written to be a sequel and in the end the writers realized they need to add a first movie so the 'geniuses' decided to add it back as short flashbacks to the past.

With all due respect but that was a very stupid thing to do.

Basically this creates a lack of association with the feelings, mood and atmosphere that the actors are supposed to express. You end up seeing a lot of scenes where old friends are being reunited and that is supposed to mean something to the viewer. However, since you have never before seen these character, these actors and obviously any of their background story and relations, you can never relate or feel what this movie is trying to articulate. The flash backs to the past and the narration from the female lead (Margot Robbie) does not help at all. In fact the flash back are actually more interesting and intriguing which makes the main story of the movie looks even worst.

I give this movie 3 stars as an encouragement because I am curious to see a good Tarzan movie...or at least to see the fist movie and after that the sequel.

Agent Carter
(2015)

sexism at its best
Agent Carter has some good ideas but also one very big flow.

The whole problem comes from the time the show is set - the 50s. A time when women where discriminated against and considered not as good as men. The creates of the show have tried to illustrate this sexism but in their attempted they have become sexist as well...how ironic.

Basically the main female character is being overlooked by her fellow male co-workers and obstructed of doing what she is capable of in her job. This is something understandable for the time the show is set in, however, the show goes much further. It represents all of the male characters as stupid and incompetent and trying to contrast the female lead as a lot more intelligent and capable of doing her job on a whole new level compared to her male colleagues. It is understandable for the lead actor/actress to be the best of what they do but making all the males or females incompetent is a sexism not fitted for the 21st century.

Using the sexism of the time period was a good idea but depicting it in a sexist ways is ironic and ruining the show.

It is important to note that my review is based on the first 6 episodes of season 1. I hope that for season 2 they have address this issue.

Heroes Reborn
(2015)

Not as good as the original
I have to start by saying I really liked the original Heroes. Especially the first 2 season were masterpieces. There was a brilliant mystery that was making me want to see more and more.

Unfortunately i can't say the same about Heroes Reborn. There are obvious plot holes and even some ridiculous segments. There is an Asian girl who lives alone, have no friends, no family and all that she does is stay in her apartment out of convenience for the plot and this is not even the worst part. She has to safe her father....from a video game, where she can teleport or whatever and when she does that you see it in a computer graphics video.

The show is copying a lot from the its predecessor like the main characters are again of Asian, Latin and obviously American origin. Their development, however, is lacking and is not as clever as the original. There is a mystery but this time it is created in the most stupid way - by coincidences that stop the main character from finding what he actually used to know.

Another downfall to the show is that there are too many children in the main characters. I mean is this supposed to be a teen show?

I still keep my hope alive that the show will get better and develop the mystery properly and make me want more and more like the original.

Fear the Walking Dead
(2015)

Promotion of police brutality, must be taken down IMMEDIATELY
Simply put, according to this despicable show, killing of unarmed people is OK because they are zombies and protesting about it is stupid and dangerous. This is like pissing on the graves of all those innocent teenagers, killed by the police because they were black and undermining the efforts of all the protesters trying to stop police brutality. In other words they are saying that police should be killing unarmed people and people should not protest about it. I cannot understand what kind of country is America to allow something so discussing. This show has absolutely no respect towards and enormous issue in the American society.

For comparison the final episode of Mr Robot was not aired because of similarities of the tragedy in Virginia let along to promote something like police brutality.

The relevant authorities should ban this show before the 3th episode is due to air!

Fast & Furious 7
(2015)

I walked out of the theater
So many people liked this movie but is it because the movie is good or because one of the actors died? People who did even know the name of Walker were so sad because of his dead that they suddenly realized they were his biggest fans. Apparently his tragic dead made him also a better actor.

Well... I am a person who looks objectively on things and I have to tell you I just could't wait until the end, I had to leave. But then again as 99.99% of the American movies the end is always obvious, the good guys defeat the bad. The end. I didn't really need to watch the end.

Why was it so bad? The reason is, it is absurd. From the first scene we see one guy who managed to almost destroy a hospital. SUVs crashed into the building, SWAT teams all dead and our guy visiting his brother and threatening the doctors. Walks out and finds his car parked right in front of the entrance while everything else is destroyed... and in all that time the police is nowhere to be found.

In the Fast and Furious universe you can jump with your car from a plane and land on a very specific location without any navigation what so ever. You can also crash your car dawn a mountain hill and not only be alive but also without a scratch. In addition, you can have a device that can access all cameras and mics in the world simultaneously and find anybody but when the special ops teams go to apprehend that someone, they would not use any surveillance and go blindly so that they can be superseded that there is an entire army waiting for them there. The US government does not use satellite images and infrared to asses the situation...that's just for losers. On top of everything military helicopters and military drones owned by private individuals can fly freely over American cities and fire missiles on whatever they want without being detected and obviously without being interrupted by any government agency. Why? Very simple. Our good guys have to defeat the bad guys by themselves. Otherwise it will not be that "dramatic" and the victory wont be theirs.

As usual for the Fast and Furious, the acting was mediocre and when it comes to plot...well there isn't any. As long as there are nice cars and they show you an ass or two it OK. That is all you need.

Jupiter Ascending
(2015)

I had low expectation that i had lower even more
I had high hope for this movie considering it is a product by the Wachowski siblings. After casting Kunis and Tatum in the leads i started becoming a bit skeptical but still had high expectation until the movie came out and all the bad critics.

After the first 10 minutes of the movie i was extremely disappointed in the story. It is a space move with a Cinderella character in the lead and an elfish looking male lead with air roller skating boots. Yes, you read correctly. There are a lot of scenes with these roller skates that can fly and Tatum skates like he is on the ground while in the air. This is most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in a high budget movie.

Further in the movie there are more ridiculous things like alligator looking aliens with wings but I will not mention them as I don't want to spoil it for those of you who decide to watch the movie. Jupiter Ascending continues with a leak story made out of clichés in a bad combination. The move fails to deliver anything from it story line.

The acting is also not very good. While Bean and Redmayne are trying to do their best in portraying their characters as best as possible, the characters themselves have nothing to offer given the story line. On the other hand Tatum completely fails in his job perhaps because of the elfish look and the air boots. I don't even want to mention Kunis as she gives absolutely no depth to her character.

One has to mention the special effects and costume design. They are the only outstanding thing in the movie, especially the costume design. The CGI and the action scenes are also visually made very well, however, some of those scenes are negatively effected by the story line. Still if you like special effects, you wont be disappointed in that regard.

Overall I gave this move 3/10 solely because of the CGI and the costume designs as it fails to deliver an original and intriguing story line. I lacked anticipation to see what is going to happen next. Everything was very predictable and the acting was below mediocre.

Furious 6
(2013)

Dumb people's favorite movie
This movie is simply put ridiculous.

While the first 2 movies had little defying physics and no common sense scenes, usually reserved for the culmination, the further you go in the franchise the more absurd it gets. The 6th movie is full of plot holes, defines physics and lacks absolutely any logic. In fact there are scenes that lead to nowhere and do not contribute to the overall plot of the movie.

As expected Fast and furious 6 has a lot of actions scenes that are more fantasy rather than action. It it is clear that no thought was put in the funny parts and the jokes but at least there are some.

One can easily conclude that the move was purely made for money. It is focusing on the mindless masses who would watch anything as long as there are explosions, nice cars and good locking actors without thinking a bit about the plot of the move. One has to turn off his brain in order to enjoy this movie.

American Sniper
(2014)

American PROPAGANDA
This is not a movie! This is the new marketing strategy of the American army to get stupid people to join.

Apparently Clint Eastwood was hired by the army to create a 2 hours advertisement on how "honorable" it is to be part of the oil wars. This a very political movie, trying to justify why America waged a war over more than one country because of the alleged action of very small group of extremest residing in these countries.

No surprise that the movie had little success on the foreign market. This movie is offensive and is depicting only what is favorable for the Americans in an exaggerating way and missing the reality of the war. For convenience all the kids and women killed in the war, were extremest, endangering the lives of the "innocent" solders, while in reality a lot of innocent kids and women who had nothing to do with any extremest were killed. Somehow the torture prisons were also left out and the "interrogation" practices.

In the end the movie is trying to be dramatic, showing the psychological consequences of protecting "innocent" solder and "justifyingly" killing kids and women. The reality, however, is a bit different. The psychological effects on solders were because they were killing innocent people for the greediness of other who were enjoying themselves in luxury in the mean time.

I find this movie disgusting. The fact that it has been nominated for 6 Oscars, shows how objective the Academy Awards are. If you are low intelligent American, you would probably like it. If you are an intelligent American, you will be ashamed of this propaganda. I don't think I have to say what the rest of the world think about the movie.
