The Sandman
(2022)

Ugggh
I've been waiting for this for so long as a fan of the comics. Really don't understand all the positive reviews. This is not good. First episode starts off descent but had a stirring feeling it was going down hill from there, and it did. Cgi not great, pacing long winded, cinematography static and dull and too reliant on the bad cgi. Netflix is just not good at adapting stories. Period. A lot of the problem too I feel is Neil gaiman. He holds this story too close to his heart and I feel as brilliant as he is that he doesn't have the tools to make great cinema. At some point u have to let go and trust people that are more talented than u to step in and re-envision the material. Eg. Dune, lord of the rings. Someone's def been fluffing reviews for this across the board. I keep seeing 8 and 9? Really. If that's based off fan scores, some of y'all need to turn off Netflix and expand ur film horizon. Listen to audiobook instead, which is great.

Blew me away.
I have long thought Jordan Peele to be a talented filmmaker but have yet to see that one movie that really knocks me back. This is the one. One of best horror movies to come out in a long long time. From the cinematography to the music to the dialogue every bit of this movie is incredible. So unique. Bravo Jordan, I can now say I'm a huge fan of urs.

The Last of Us: Part II
(2020)

Masterpiece.
This game blew me away. The hate for it is unbelievable. If u notice every negative review is from June 19. Just finished it And I never write reviews, but felt compelled because of the negativity. It's just sad that people devote so much energy to Sabotage anything they don't believe in. Which anyone who actually played the game knows why they are really knocking this game down. It's obvious what that's about. U can enjoy art and not be morally or fundamentally supportive of the subject matter. Just enjoy a freakin great game.

Us
(2019)

Disappointed.
Trailer was better than the movie. To me this movie just never takes off. It's a shame because there is some fantastic imagery and a wonderful theme lying underneath but in the end it can not overcome its plot holes and failed delivery of the message its trying to speak. It truly believes it's deeper than it is, but left me unfulfilled. Kind of lazy/rushed writing in my opinion. Kind of just throws a bunch of mediocre stuff at you without any real substance and expects the audience to give it purpose and deeper meaning in there own heads. Which is fine to do but to me this movie wasn't worthy of that merit of thought. You keep waiting for it to evolve but it just never does. Honestly can't believe critics are putting this on such a pedestal giving it such rave reviews.
