The Continental
(2023)

My new favorite show
The origin story of the Continental Hotel from John Wick is dark, action and sometimes humorous, a lot like the movie, but in the 70s in NYC. Ha! NY was dirty but Not That Dirty in the 70s, but the music...oh my ........ the memories came flooding back with the score, I love the music. And Mel Gibson plays a great tyrant, nuts, man is he nuts in this show. The plot thickens I can't to see the next season and we haven't even seen the first season yet. The Scott brothers backstory interspersed throughout the plot shows a lot of what nyc kids go through to survive in the poor neighborhoods, makes me sad but reminded me of lots of kids I grew up with, tough streets of ny is not a easy life, but gives you survival tactics. All in all this show is a great escape for an hour, lots of action.

A Good Person
(2023)

Outstanding acting
Florence Pugh should be nominated for an Oscar. Her performance was outstanding, heartbreaking and amazing. The cast overall was very good, Zach wrote a very real story. I have suffered with addiction, as well as having addicted relatives and the realism caught me off guard, I may have been too emotional but I could personally relate with many aspects of Allison's journey. Morgan Freeman was superb I wish I had a grandfather like that during my addiction years. Addiction is a very hard disease for all people who are addicted and those around them, some scenes were very difficult for me to watch and I had to take a break at times, but I really did like this film. It's hopeful.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
(2023)

Too much AI and CGI
Not my cup of tea, the computer generated stuff is overwhelming, I found myself trying to figure out what was real vs. What was fake. Not a good time for me. Glad I didn't pay for it, but my friend loved it. She's a fan of all the movies and she even had the Atari video back in the day. At least she thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I am a fan of Harrison Ford, just think this movie was not necessary, the storyline was a bit predictable, as they all are. The addition of Phoebe Waller-Bridge was fun but still predictable, sad way to end an era of Indy movies, definitely made for the true fans. If you are one, then go see it!

The Princess
(2022)

Not your average Princess
I liked this movie, it wasn't that complicated to watch filled with great fight scenes. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast was good and the storyline although been used and used before, I've never seen it in quite this way. Joey was great, I loved her.

Shining Girls
(2022)

At first...
I have to admit I was confused, was it a murder mystery or a time travel sci-fi? But then I was hooked, I couldn't wait for the next episode to air. The acting was great, one definitely has to pay attention to what is going on, mom didn't even look at the screen, so she gave up ,lol. I liked the story and loved the strong female characters.

All the Old Knives
(2022)

A little hard to follow
I'm not a fan of movies that go back and forth between timeline so I found myself wondering what year is this? But well acted and the love scene is hot hot hot. Overall I liked it. But I was intrigued by the story.

Bohemian Rhapsody
(2018)

Loved this film
Memories of my youth and a glimpse into the genius that was Freddie Mercury an Queen. Rami's performance was outstanding.

The Keepers
(2017)

Excellent docuseries
This story is heart wrenching but brave! These women are brave, they are real life heroes. The Catholic Church should be ashamed for these men. That's why I will never go to church again, there is more hypocrisy in the church than out.

The truth shall set you free.
