Lucifer
(2016)

Can true love change the ultimate bad boy?
Appealing story line. The ultimate bad boy struggles with his devil self, anger/blame towards his parents, wanting to reveal the darkest side of him and find love and acceptance in the eyes of the woman he loves. Can the most devilish of beings transform into a better version of himself, truly worthy of her love? I was put off at first by the name of the show, thought it would be a show that glorified evil but it's actually about finding forgiveness, redemption and love, no matter how horrible our past. It's about opening our minds and questioning how we define right and wrong, good and evil. I love the show. Tom Ellis is truly the perfect devil in all ways. Love the show!

Black Mirror: Striking Vipers
(2019)
Episode 1, Season 5

Very deep and beautiful on many levels
This is my favorite episode so far. It highlights how addiction and fantasy can take over your life and destroy everything you hold dear if you let it. Some people are catalysts for things that are not-so-good and will seduce you and pull you down with them. Shows the importance of honest communication with your partner, keeping an open mind and finding a solution that works for both. Life is a video game not everyone beats.

Black Mirror: Metalhead
(2017)
Episode 5, Season 4

Struggled to get through it
Recently started watching Black Mirror and have now watched all episodes. Started watching this, found it quite slow and boring, so I watched all the others first. Came back to this one just to complete them all. I should have just skipped it. I was hoping it would pull through. Nope. Pass.

Beautiful movie, very touching
The reviews were right on with this. Great movie, message, variety of characters and plenty of action. Glad I went to see it.

1917
(2019)

Beautiful Cinematography, Effects but...
The pace of the movie is very slow. I almost didn't finish watching it. They could have done a lot more to make it more moving. Was expecting a lot more given the reviews.

Portrait de la jeune fille en feu
(2019)

Movie was decent but quite overrated
Stunning cinematography. Slowly evolving plot. I expected more from the ratings. Struggled to finish it.

The Call of the Wild
(2020)

Enjoyable movie
The movie was very good, beautiful scenes, but lacked the intensity of the book. Blander than I expected. Perhaps it needed to be for younger audiences.

The Invisible Man
(2020)

A thriller in all sense of the word
This movie had me jumping in my seat the entire time. I love how the character evolves throughout the movie from an abused, insecure victim to a confident aggressor. Excellent performance.

Joker
(2019)

A decent movie but expected more
I had read the reviews and watched the movie with great expectations. It was a pretty good movie but not great in my opinion. The pace was a little slow. Not nearly as intense or moving as it could have been. I also don't care for the message, trying to explain evil behavior with mental illness or an abusive childhood. Sometimes evil is just evil, plain and simple. Decent movie 7 stars.
