10/10: Masterpiece of the genre, assuming it's a genre I care about to begin with. (Airplane!, The Shawshank Redemption, The Dark Knight)
9/10: Consistently excellent, or at least pretty good in a way that appeals to my tastes. (The Godfather, 12 Angry Men, Avatar)
8/10: A confusing mix of critically acclaimed classics that don't appeal to my tastes (Goodfellas, Fight Club), guilty pleasures (Thunderbirds, Twilight), and a lot of things in between.
7/10: A confusing mix of critically acclaimed classics that I found really underwhelming (Seven Samurai, Forrest Gump), even guiltier pleasures (Dragon Ball Evolution, New Moon), and a lot of things in between.
6/10: Just barely watchable, with little I'm willing to recommend about it (Terminator Salvation, A Good Day to Die Hard)
