Asteroid City
(2023)

Huh????
I'm not really familiar with Wes Anderson's work. But, I mean, I have no idea what I just watched. I really tried to get it. This movie has an incredible cast, the majority of which are award winning or nominated; the main reason for my three stars. Tom Hanks, Willem DeFoe, Scarlett, Margot, Bryan; what's not to like, right? But it was just so bizarre. I love movies and I appreciate that there is a huge amount of work and artistic vision that goes into them, but this one really lost me. Was it supposed to be deep or humorous or artsy fartsy, I don't know. Maybe I just didn't get it. Was it just me?

See it in IMAX
I saw this in IMAX and The cinematography was amazing. In fact it's why I gave the movie an eight. I am a big Joaquin Phoenix fan, but he was off in this film. I really thought he would have been better. He had a regular old American accent which didn't mesh well with everyone else's accent. I felt like he was trying too hard to not be or sound like his character in Gladiator. As far as historical accuracy, I can't speak to that, as I don't know it well enough, but I enjoyed the movie more than I expected I would. I thought the battle scenes were done very well. I loved the costumes and the music. Very glad I saw in IMAX.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
(2023)

Wow wow wow!
Loved, loved, loved it! On the edge of my seat! Action, adventure, plot twists, humor and outstanding cinematography, this movie has it all! Tom Cruise is simply fearless! Just amazing with the stunts he does himself. I saw this in a theater with 2-D and it was incredible. Not always realistic but that doesn't matter because it is so full in every other way. See it at the theater on the big screen though. It's absolutely worth it. Otherwise it won't have the same effect.

Didn't give it a ten only because a ten is perfection. While the movie was fantastic, perfection would be an overstatement.

Don't Look Up
(2021)

Both Brilliant and Scary
A stark reminder that we need to pull our heads out of the sand. The comet is a metaphor of the climate change hurling towards us. A devastating reminder that we must do something before it's to late.

ER
(1994)

Absolutely One of the Bests Ever
I just finished watching every episode and I swear I could start it all over again. Just a great show with so many great guest stars, plot lines and characters.

No Time to Die

The United States vs. Billie Holiday

Andra Day is simply amazing as Lady Day.
Truly an Oscar worthy performance by Andra Day. Excellent movie.

A Fish Called Wanda
(1988)

Don't call me stupid...
Hysterical! Timeless humor and excellent acting. Kevin Kline has me in tears every time. John Cleese wrote the story brilliantly.

Judy
(2019)

I really felt like I was watching Judy
Renee Zellweger is just incredible as Judy Garland. I found myself forgetting she wasn't really Judy. This movie was very well done. Such a tragic story about an amazing woman.

Joker
(2019)

JP's Performance...Just WOW
I've long felt that Joaquin Phoenix was underrated. He is the only reason I watched this film (not a fan of this genre). I will be shocked if he doesn't take home an Oscar.

Saturday Night Live
(1975)

Eddie Murphy Episode Worth the Wait!
Lifelong SNL fan here. The anticipation of the Eddie Murphy host episode was high and they did not disappoint. Gumby, Buckwheat and Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood....what more could we ask for! Loved it!

Live in Front of a Studio Audience: 'All in the Family' and 'Good Times'
(2019)

So glad I got to see this!
While I didn't get to see the live airing, I was able to catch the replay on the 28th. I loved it! Having grown up watching these shows, I was excited to see them redo them. Without a doubt my favorites were Viola Davis as Florida Evans, Woody Harrelson as Archie, but Marissa Tomei was brilliant! I hope there are more live remakes like this.
