Killers of the Flower Moon
(2023)

Big disappointment and waste of time
It is long, dark, one-dimensional and boring, from the beginning you know the ending, the novel had much more emotion. The story it tells does not need that much length, it is a great disappointment and even more so after having read all those unfounded praises from some critics. The lighting and cinematography options are vulgar, there is nothing that stands out. The actors are not directed, Robert De Niro plays Robert De Niro once again, Leonardo DiCaprio is past and out of the film, only Lily Gladstone provides some authenticity and with one look she devours her companions on the screen.

Martin Scorsese has made very good films but this is not one of them.

A Haunting in Venice
(2023)

Brilliant!
It's a brilliant film, it doesn't adapt a book, it's simply inspired by it. Cinematographically, it is an exercise in style by a stratospheric filmmaker and actor like Kenneth Branagh. His biggest goal is to entertain and he certainly achieves it in every way with intrigue, a sense of humor, emotion and a little fear. It also makes you reflect, ask yourself some questions while you try to find out who did it.

The photography is excellent, having Venice as a setting it would have been unforgivable to miss the opportunity, Branagh and his team make the most of it. The camera movements are bold and fun. There is some homage to movie buffs, the actors are all good, the sound is perfect, the soundtrack, everything exudes quality and good taste. I will watch it more times, it may become one of my favorite movies of recent times.

This England
(2022)

Must See
This England is an excellent dramatic series, perhaps too close, that portrays a very difficult period of time not only for England but for the whole world, in which some governments were incompetent, they did not know how to face the pandemic.

Being honest I have to admit that I watched the series to see Kenneth Branagh work, it's fascinating how he gets the voice, the gestures, the physicality, he becomes Boris, but what makes his performance perfect is that he doesn't judge the character, he doesn't ridicules not condemns him, Branagh shows Boris for the viewer to judge. The rest of the cast and crew also do a great job. It's worth the time, sometimes a little hard to watch but it's important not to forget what happened and where everyone was.
