Smallville alum Tom Welling has joined the cast of the CW’s drama series The Winchesters, from the Supernatural trio of Robbie Thompson, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios. The news was announced today by The Winchesters producers and cast at New York Comic Con, with Welling making a surprise appearance. The Winchesters premieres Tuesday, October 11 on the CW.
Written and executive produced by Thompson, The Winchesters is a prequel to the CW’s long-running Supernatural, centered on Dean and Sam Winchester’s parents – John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester (voiced by Jensen Ackles), The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love but the entire world.

In a matter of hours, Supernatural will have wrapped its twelfth season with a two-hour finale as the cult favorite horror series continues its attempt at being this generation’s answer to Gunsmoke. But before the festivities kickoff, let’s have a look at a sneak peek that’s surfaced online today.
From what we can gather, the clip embedded at the top likely picks up not long after where last week’s episode left off – with Sam and Dean Winchester trapped in the Men of Letters bunker with the very woman who brought foot torture to primetime television, Toni Bevell.
Thanks to Mr. Ketch and his cohorts, this powder keg of a trio are left with seemingly no way out and a limited air supply. Knowing that desperate times call for desperate measures, it looks like they’ll rely on supernatural means (what else?) to get out of this precarious position.

Well, it’s certainly been an interesting ride on “the road so far” this past year, now hasn’t it? After being floored by what was quite essentially the spiritual sequel to season 5 a year ago, we’ve instead received two overarching stories this season that often feel quite disconnected. Yes, there has been some overlap here and there, but for the most part, it’s felt like we’ve been watching two entirely different seasons of television.
Months ago, I commented on this disconnect, which has held true right up until the end. In fact, I’ve spoken with other Supernatural diehards at conventions and such, each of which have agreed with me in saying that while the individual offerings were good this season, the overarching narrative lacked focus.
That said, it comes as no surprise that the two-hour finale reflect this, with the first half, “Who We Are,...

After returning from a three week hiatus, Supernatural didn’t waste any time in forcing us to be on the edge our seats, now did it? Continuing to show how this world of hunting exists not in black and white, but in shades of grey, makes for some extremely compelling television, especially when you put British Man of Letters Mick Davies into the mix in order to illustrate such a point.
In last night’s episode, “Ladies Drink Free,” the producers took this to a new level by having Davies get his hands dirty in one of the most morally ambiguous cases to be presented this year. And, as the latest promo video illustrates, next week’s offering will be no less of a white knuckle ride.
From what we can tell, Mick will have to choose between following orders or continuing to forge his working relationship with Sam and Dean.

Zoom scored a major victory over the Fastest Man Alive in tonight's episode of The Flash, and in this first look at what's to come in next week's instalment, we see that Barry Allen is forced to go into battle with Griffin Grey minus his powers. That's going to be quite the challenge, and based on what we see here, not one the hero will end up doing particularly well with! Thoughts on tonight's episode? The CW has released the official synopsis for the ninth episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which is titled “Left Behind.” What looks to make this episode special is that the series once again takes advantage its ability to crossover with other DC shows that the network currently airs. In this case, it is Arrow.
Matt Nable’s portrayal of the deadly and cunning villain known as Ra’s al Ghul during Arrow’s third season left many fans stunned, including myself. Not only was the characterization of the League of Assassins’ leader spot on, but the show was also unafraid to embrace the mystical nature of the character, acknowledging that he has lived for centuries thanks to the healing waters of the Lazarus Pit. This was something that was deliberately omitted from the character’s first live action appearance in Batman Begins.

The CW has released an extended look at next week’s all new episode of Supernatural, “Our Little World.” Fans will not want to miss this one, as it’ll feature the return of Metatron, or Marv, if you prefer. Castiel begrudgingly asks him to assist in the battle with the Darkness, a decision he probably didn’t make lightly.
Those wondering what Metatron has been up to since last seeing him in Season 10 need no longer scratch their heads. It seems that he has been working as a freelance videographer for a local news station and is actually content with the direction his life has taken. He does not seem keen on the idea of helping our heroes, but one can’t picture him on the sidelines for much longer. Let us not forget that he still has possession of the Demon Tablet, and I highly doubt the producers...

The Flash, Season 2, Episode 3, “Family of Rogues”
Directed by John F. Showalter
Teleplay by Julian Meiojas & Katherine Walczak
Airs on Tuesdays at 8 pm (Et) on CW
While the first two episodes of this season focused on introducing Zoom and the concept of multiple worlds, The Flash takes a detour with “Family of Rogues,” an aptly named episode considering both the A and B plots this week are all about family. Lisa Snart shows up asking for Flash’s help in rescuing her brother Leonard, who was apparently kidnapped, and Joe’s long-lost, supposedly dead wife is back in town and wants to reunite with her daughter. Barry tracks down Leonard, who reveals that he is working with his father Lewis (Michael Ironside) against his will. It seems Lewis was not the ideal father figure, particularly to Lisa Snart, who we learn he physically abused as a child. Now he’s...

While the official synopsis for this episode of The Flash mentions only Captain Cold and the return of his father to Central City, the first clip from “Family of Rogues” confirms that the show will still be spending some time focusing on the mysteries of Earth-2. That’s where Jay Garrick hails from, and as you can see, Barry and the rest of team Flash have now made it their mission to both help him return and solve the mystery of Zoom.
Following the shocking last minute reveal in last week’s episode of The Flash that Harrison Wells is a beloved hero on Earth-2, you have to wonder whether this doorway being in S.T.A.R. Labs is going to somehow lead to him meeting up with the Scarlet Speedster, a moment which is sure to be very interesting considering the fact that the Earth-1 version was Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash in disguise.

Season two of The Flash has gotten off to a great start, and while the series has done an excellent job of bringing us up to speed with where the main characters are, much of the focus has been on introducing new heroes and villains, like Jay Garrick and Zoom. However, next week’s instalment of the hit show will bring back fan-favourite villain Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).
While he briefly appeared in the premiere as part of a dream sequence, this is the first time we’ll be seeing Cold since it was announced that he’ll be taking on a starring role in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. As a result, it’s going to be very exciting to see if this episode helps to set the stage for his appearance there in any way or if that’s being saved for the upcoming Arrow/The Flash crossover episode.
