‘Suits LA’: What to Expect From the Spinoff (and Remember From ‘Suits’)
Image
Wait, is Suits really back? You bet your goddamn ass it is.

After the USA Network legal drama exploded on Netflix and racked up 57.7 billion minutes watched in 2023, creator Aaron Korsh is expanding the Suits universe with a second spinoff — this time, set on the West Coast. Suits LA, which premieres Sunday on NBC, will feature a new set of lawyers attempting to recapture the hallmarks of the original series: impossibly sharp intellect, edgy and witty dialogue and, yes, impeccably tailored suits and high fashion.

Given that the new spinoff offers very little carry-over in terms of characters, viewers could theoretically tune into the L.A.-based spinoff without having watched any of its predecessors. But they would be seriously depriving themselves of the addictive, cozy comforts of the original series. Whether you watched the mothership during its initial run on cable from 2011 to 2019, or during the “summer of Suits...

'Suits' Best Lawyer Isn't Mike or Harvey — It's This Character
Image
While it is indisputable that Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Mike (Patrick J. Adams), best known for their bravado winning streak, have perfected their trade and are clear front-runners for Suits' best lawyers, the show is filled with talented legal minds. Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) is a force to reckon with, and so is Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce), and even the villainous Travis Tanner (Eric Close), Sean Cahill (Neal McDonough), and Andrew Malik (Usman Alley). But there is one name that beats them all for Suits' best lawyer. From her childhood, Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) isn't so easily labeled as a conventional girl. She defies her strict father to pursue law instead of his preferred choice of surgery, which he hoped she would follow in his footsteps. Jessica has broken barriers to be among the few women from a minority community at the pinnacle of law firm leadership in New York.

‘Suits’ 8B: Series Creator On Which Old Favorites Are Coming Back, Firm’s New Dynamic, Another Love Triangle & More
In the Season 8 summer finale of USA Network’s Suits, Zane Specter Litt set off yet another name change. Faced with a potential internal civil war, Donna talked Robert Zane and Harvey Specter into accepting Louis Litt as managing partner while also convincing Louis — who had just found out that he’s going to be a father — to take on the leadership post. Litt’s first order of business was to make both Alex Williams and Samantha Wheeler name partners as the duo’s escalating battle for the position was threatening to tear the firm apart.

The back six episodes of Season 8, which are launching Wednesday night, will tackle the new power dynamic at Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams. It also will introduce Alex’s (Dule Hill) wife, played by How To Get Away with Murder‘s Tamberla Perry, as well as a new love triangle involving Donna and Harvey...

Suits Season 6 Episode 11 Review: She's Gone
Are the darks days really over for Pearson Specter Litt?

That was addressed on Suits Season 6 Episode 11 when it became abundantly clear Harvey and Louis would be fighting to the death in order to save the firm following the departure of Jessica.

For what it's worth, Harvey at least tried to keep it together by attempting to bring everyone back to the firm, but for Mike, he was over it. Donna stole the show when she told Harvey to make things right with his mother.

He's been relying on his Psl family for far too long, so adapting to the change that's coming to the firm was always going to be difficult for him to process.

You could tell he was hurting. The firm was a shell of its former self and that was horrible for him to watch.

Bringing Mike back in would have been like having the family back together,...

'Suits' Recap: Mike Puts His Deal in Jeopardy
On this episode of Suits, "The Hand That Feeds You," Mike goes up against Cahill in an effort to get Kevin released, Jessica and Rachel disagree on how to handle Leonard's case and Harvey finds himself at odds with Cameron Dennis over Frank Gallo.

When we last saw Mike, his foot was as good as out the door of Danbury. He'd convinced Jill to testify against her father, and Sutter was going away-case closed. Well, if this season has taught us anything (Other than a few weeks can feel like forever), it's that it might have been easier to Mike to bust out of jail then wait for Harvey and Sean Cahill to get the job done.

Patrick J. Adams Talks Mike's Hair, Life in Prison, Relationships on Suits Season 6
Hi, welcome to fireside chats with Patrick.

I had the chance to chat with Patrick Adams at Atx Festival about Suits Season 6. We were, naturally, by a fire because that is where you conduct interviews in Austin, Texas in June.

I'm sure by now, you've all seen the haircutting promo. This, naturally, lead to a conversation about how Mike really needed a haircut. Adams takes full responsibility for Mike's hair last season, "That was my fault. I tried a new haircut. I tried a new hairstyle and it didn't work."

Of course, I didn't begin the interview with a hair question. What kind of journalist would I be? I opened by asking Adams where we pick up; specifically, if there is a time jump, and that's when the hair cutting promo was mentioned, and then the next seven minutes were focused on Mike's hair.

Adams had a fun fact to...

'Suits' Recap: Huge Mistake
Louis has the worst luck this season on Suits. The guy just can't catch a break! He's made mistakes, but no one deserves what he's been through. In "Exposure," Pearson Specter fights off Sean Cahill's attack on the firm until Mike comes up with what seems like a fail-safe plan. Instead of protecting the firm, the plan puts them all at risk.
