A newly-released deleted scene from Loki season 2 references two iconic Marvel characters who could become the perfect villains for Chris Hemsworth's Thor in his as-yet-unannounced MCU sequel, Thor 5. Loki season 2 marked huge transformations for Tom Hiddleston's former God of Mischief, as he fought to save the multiverse and eventually became its lone protector. In the midst of the action, the season had time for some quiet and intimate moments, however, most notably one shared between Loki and Owen Wilson's Mobius in Loki season 2, episode 2, "Breaking Brad."
While taking a break from their interrogation of Brad Wolfe, Loki and Mobius bond over a slice of key-lime pie in Loki season 2, episode 2. This sequence was originally longer, as a newly-released deleted scene shows that Loki once used this moment to list all the people who considered him a "problem" (via Variety). One year after Loki season 2's premiere on October 5, 2023, many moments from the MCU series are still impossible to forget. Taking place immediately after the events of 2021's Loki season 1, the second season presented new challenges for Tom Hiddleston's Loki variant as he fought with Time Variance Authority members Mobius, B-15, Casey and Ouroboros to save the McU's multiverse. Although not as fast-paced as season 1, Loki season 2 still delivered some of the most memorable moments in the McU's history.
Loki season 2 marked the titular God of Mischief's complete transition from one of the McU's most regular and sinister villains into a bona fide superhero. Many moments, such as the interrogation of Brad Wolfe, Miss Minutes' romantic revelation and Loki's final sacrifice to save the multiverse, stick out as some of the most impressive, cathartic, entertaining and haunting scenes in the MCU. If you thought "Loki" season 2 was confusing, you're not alone: the cast of the Marvel show probably did too, thanks to some purposeful misdirection – or, as executive producer Kevin Wright explained it to Marvel.com, outright lying – that went on behind the scenes during a key moment in production.
The lies in question related to episode 4 of the show's second season, a complicated, climactic chapter that features several key power changes and plenty of mortal peril. In it, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) "prunes" a version of himself from the past, and Brad Wolfe (Rafael Casal) is compelled to prune Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), too. The episode ends with the group of timeline-hoppers trying to enact their master plan to save the universe: Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors) steps outside of the Tva's headquarters, attempting to fix the out-of-control Temporal Loom that's threatening to destabilize. Only, it doesn't work: Timely explodes into ribbons of spaghetti-like material,...

The Wonder Man show has resumed filming after the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. Set images for the MCU production suggest a movie premiere scene within the show. Rumors swirled of the show's cancellation due to rising costs during strikes, but it looks like Marvel is keen to keep it going.
After being shut down by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the Wonder Man show has resumed filming. Plot details for the Marvel Cinematic Universe title are currently unknown, though it's expected to follow the origins of actor Simon Williams who transforms and gains superpowers, becoming the titular superhero. Developed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings' Destin Daniel Cretton and Hawkeye consulting producer Andrew Guest, production began on the show began in April 2023 before halting due to the joint Hollywood strikes.
As spotted by Twitter users @TheAmericanOni and @douglaszaldaaa, filming for Wonder Man has resumed after a 6-month hiatus.

Loki Season 2 producer Kevin Wright shed new light on why the new season didn't end with a classic MCU post-credits scene.
While the MCU is well-known for its post-credits scenes teasing what's coming in the future, more recent projects have not continued that trend with shows like Secret Invasion closing off the full story before the credits roll.
Loki Season 2 continued that pattern by only including two post-credits moments across its six episodes - one scene in Episode 1 with Sylvie visiting a McDonalds in 1982 Oklahoma and an audio-only moment in Episode 5 bringing Brad Wolfe's voice from the Zaniac arcade game.

Ravonna Renslayer's fate in the MCU is left unclear as she wakes up in the Void after being pruned, though she has potentially been consumed by Alioth. Alioth is a powerful creature in the Void that devours organic matter and guards He Who Remains and the Citadel at the End of Time. Renslayer's connection to He Who Remains and Alioth may hint at her potential survival in the Void and a future return in the McU's Multiverse Saga.

Spoiler warning ahead for Loki Season 2, Episode 5
The ending of Loki season 2, episode 5, was punctuated with a particularly unique post-credits scene. Now, you may have stuck around until the end of all the fun graphics expecting to see some middle credits scene, but if you didn’t wait all the way to the end of the full credits, then you were never rashly insulted by a low-quality Atari-like video game voice.
Marvel did this before, when, at the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans could hear the sound of Tony Stark forging the very first Iron Man armor as a tribute to his deceased character. But this is the first time Marvel has ever played a vocal recording for a post-credits stinger. It works as a special easter egg to cap off the end of the episode, but it also calls back to one of the series’ deep-cut Marvel cameos.

With two episodes left of “Loki” Season 2, the mid-season trailer hints that all is not yet lost after that Episode 4 ending.
Ke Huy Quan’s “O.B.” Ouroboros kicks off the clip by asking Loki how much he knows.
“Let’s assume I didn’t know much, but I’m a fast learner, and I’m a god,” Tom Hiddleston’s titular character replies.
Following the unfortunate death of Kang variant Victor Timely (Jonathan Majors) in Episode 4 and the rest of the time twist crew being engulfed by the exploding time loom, the mid-season trailer makes it look like they can still come back from this.
“All of existence is in grave danger,” Loki says over a montage of his getting engulfed by the time loom’s destruction and spit out at a rental equipment facility in front of a yellow inflatable air dancer. “The Tva is gone.”

Loki’s ending for episode 4 was the biggest cliffhanger we’ve seen all season. So, if you haven’t watched episode 4 yet and don’t want any spoilers, this is your last warning. What will happen to Loki and the Tva? Why did Miss Minutes say what she did to Victor Timely? Will Renslayer survive? This is the ending to Loki season 2, episode 4 explained.
It certainly looks like there’s no hope for anyone at the end of this episode. It couldn’t have finished in a deadlier way. When the temporal loom exploded, the entire MCU timeline was destroyed. When Victor Timely was annihilated and Renslayer was pruned, they were the only two spared this horrible fate. But what if that was all part of the plan? There are a lot of self-fulfilling prophecies in this episode. Perhaps Loki is on his way to create another one.

Inside the Time Variance Authority in Loki Season 2, Victor Timely doesn't start suddenly turning evil or anything like that. Episode 4 poses the question of whether all Kang the Conqueror variants are destined to become villains or if Victor Timely could be a "good" version of this character. If Victor Timely is indeed good, it will likely be because of the influence of Loki, Mobius and the rest of the Time Variance Authority.

Loki Season 2 has focused less on the Marvel multiverse and more on the emotional and philosophical beliefs of its characters. General Dox is a new character who was a true believer in the Sacred Timeline, even after the lie of the Time Keepers was exposed. General Dox wasn't a villain like Ravonna Renslayer or He Who Remains, but rather someone who believed she was saving existence.

Unlike the first outing with the Time Variance Authority, the conflict in Loki Season 2 is not so straightforward. Director Dan DeLeeuw explains the inclusion of Kingo and Zaniac Easter eggs in Loki season 2, episode 2, revealing they were suggested by executive producer Kevin Wright. The Zaniac Easter egg aligns with the comic book origin story of the parasitic entity sent by Dormammu to possess a human and later transformed into a creature from a film named after him. The connection between Hunter X-5 and General Dox in the show hints at a potential storyline for Brad Wolfe as the McU's version of Zaniac, but it remains uncertain how much setup this Easter egg actually entails.
Having already hinted at the existence of mutants in the show, director Dan DeLeeuw explains how the Kingo and Zaniac Easter eggs in Loki season 2, episode 2 came to be. Entitled "Breaking Brad", the episode saw Tom Hiddleston's titular god of mischief and Owen Wilson's Tva Agent Mobius travel to 1970s London to...

Loki's deep affection for his adoptive mother, Frigga, is evident through a small detail - both characters have a tendency to pick at their hands when they're nervous or stressed. Loki's relationship with his mother is a weakness that can affect his actions and how he manipulates others, as seen when his reaction to insults about his mother nearly causes him to lose his composure. Despite becoming a heroic figure, there is still a mischievous villain within Loki that emerges when his family is brought up, highlighting the complexity of his character and his struggle with his past and future.
Loki takes a deep dive into the trickster's god's background, and one small detail makes his MCU origin more tragic. Loki was born a frost giant but was adopted and raised by Odin after he was abandoned by his father, Laufey. While growing up in Asgard, Loki felt estranged...

Loki season 2 introduces a new power for the God of Mischief, using shadows with horned helmets to capture a villain, showcasing his intelligence and quick-thinking. The original plan for the chase scene in episode 2 involved a high-speed car chase, but the director decided to go with Loki using his shadow powers instead to avoid traditional tropes and better align with Loki's character. The use of Loki's shadows not only references his villainous past but also raises the question of whether he is still a villain or if his attempts to be a hero are paying off. A car chase wouldn't have had the same impact and wouldn't have fit with Loki's magical abilities.

Loki is full of easter eggs. There are so many easter eggs you wonder if Loki didn’t put them there himself as part of some interdimensional scavenger hunt. In this episode of season 2 titled “Breaking Brad,” we get a look at tons of little comic book secrets, as well as that great pun in the title.
One of the fun things about this particular episode is that some of the easter eggs actually reference a fun little gimmick from another Marvel movie that fans thought didn’t really matter. But, as you’ll soon see, Loki has a way of bringing the multiverse together, as well as blowing it apart.
After Michael Waldron created this show, he was given dominion over a significant part of the MCU, including Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the final movie in this saga, Avengers: Secret Wars. Now, we see him...

Martin Scorsese's comments on superhero films have sparked heated debate, but he doesn't believe that they aren't cinema. Scorsese feels that franchises and commercial approaches limit the diversity of stories on the big screen, a responsibility he places on the industry. Other directors, like Quentin Tarantino and Chris Evans, have also expressed opinions that align with Scorsese's concerns about the dominance of comic book adaptations.
After several statements expressing his little appreciation for superhero films and, in particular, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Martin Scorsese receives a response in the most recent episode of Loki.
The first time the acclaimed director spoke about comic book adaptations was in 2019, when he compared that type of cinema to theme parks, saying that "the closest I can think of them, as well-made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. The first time the acclaimed director spoke about comic book adaptations was in 2019, when he compared that type of cinema to theme parks, saying that "the closest I can think of them, as well-made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn't the cinema of...

When it comes to the MCU limited series on Disney+, the pacing issue is something that fans have often felt to be bothersome, and it ends up messing up the innovativeness of the storyline by gearing up the flow in favor of shoehorning the world-building aspects. Fortunately, Loki seemed to be the only exception, as it takes its sweet time to build on the narrative, provides viewers with an insight into the characters, and seemingly has a fixed resolution it is destined to reach without bothering much about the next big reveal and tease. It’s good to see that the second season has maintained the tradition.
In the first episode, while returning to Tva from the Citadel at the End of Time, Loki experiences time slipping as he gets thrust into the past and future of the timeline while supervising the administration. Loki arrives at a doomed Tva in the future,...

Brad Wolfe, aka Hunter X-5, is a Marvel villain who wants to live on the Sacred Timeline and is more villainous than Loki. Hunter X-5's harsh words about Loki being a villain reflect his close bond with General Dox and his belief that Loki's actions worsen the timeline. Loki realizes he isn't a villain but a victim driven by anger, and his relationships with Sylvie and Mobius show him what he truly needs – connection and trust.
The following contains spoilers from Loki, Season 2, Episode 2, now streaming on Disney+.
The first episode of Loki Season 2 introduced some new members of the Time Variance Authority, including the abrasive Hunter X-5. After disappearing on a mission to find Sylvie, seen in the post-credits scene, Loki and Mobius track him down at a 1970s movie premiere. This article contains spoilers for Loki Season Two.
Forget your Pizza Poppas, and forget your zombie superheroes. Loki season two has already given us the strangest, most unlikely Earth in the multiverse. Yes, the chyron in episode two tells us that Loki and Mobius go to 1977 in the Sacred Timeline. But in that world, a cheesy slasher called Zaniac is a star-studded, big-budget affair. In our world, even a masterpiece like Halloween was greeted with derision by critics of the time.
On the upside, our Earth does have wonderful things like Marvel Comics in the 1980s, when writers like Doug Moench told the kind of weird stories where Thor actually fights the Zaniac. Introduced in Thor #319 (1982), Zaniac was not just a movie monster portrayed by actor Brad Wolfe, but also an evil entity from the Dark Dimension.
The Zaniac of Loki lacks this cosmic evil. Instead, he’s just a character played by Brad Wolfe,...

Warning: spoilers for Loki season 2, episode 2.
Marvel subtly responds to Scorsese's criticism of superhero movies in Loki season 2 episode 2 by defending its movies as "cinema" through a clever dialogue exchange. The episode features a scene where a character defends their movie as "elevated thriller" and "cinema," indirectly addressing Scorsese's comments about superhero films lacking emotional depth. Marvel embraces the criticism and subtly admits that while its movies are made for pure entertainment, they still fall under the umbrella of cinema and serve as a branch of the art form.
Thanks to Loki season 2 episode 2, Marvel has responded to Martin Scorsese’s criticism of “cinema” and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU has grown and expanded so much that it has served as an example of connected universes and has become a power force in the superhero genre. Hunter X-5, played by Rafael Casal, is a new addition to the cast in Loki Season 2 and is a close ally of General Dox, showing a team-bonding relationship. Brad Wolfe, introduced as an actor in Loki Season 2, is known for his role as Zaniac, a prosthetics-created movie monster in Marvel Comics. While Brad Wolfe may not turn into Zaniac in Loki Season 2, his character represents the people enabling resistance to systemic change within the Tva.
The following contains spoilers from Loki, Season 2, Episode 2, now streaming on Disney+.
From a certain point of view, Loki's importance to the Marvel Cinematic Universe cannot be overstated. Without this story, the Multiverse Saga has no multiverse. Surprisingly, besides references to Loki's past, the series doesn't feature many MCU crossover elements. Nonetheless, most aspects of the series can trace their roots in the Marvel Comics universe, including Hunter X-5's Brad Wolfe alias and his movie Zaniac.

Loki season two continues to drop Easter eggs left, right, and center, but in its second episode the show happily climbs aboard Marvel’s “running gag” bandwagon by throwing in a visual reference to one of the MCU’s most divisive movies: Eternals.
During the opening scene of this week’s Loki, the God of Mischief and his Tva analyst Bff Mobius (Owen Wilson) travel back in time to capture the slimy Brad Wolfe (Rafael Casal), a Tva hunter and variant who has absconded to a past point on the Sacred Timeline to build the life he never got to have as a 70s movie star.
At the premiere of his latest film, Zaniac, Loki and Mobius roll up to the red carpet, but not before passing a range of posters advertizing upcoming feature presentations, one of which happens to star Kumail Nanjiani’s Bollywood actor Kingo from Eternals!

Loki admits that he failed to use the Infinity Stones properly, acting on impulse and throwing Tony Stark out the window instead of utilizing the Mind Stone effectively. Loki's emotional and rage-filled attack on New York City was not tactically planned, proving that his misuse of the Infinity Stones likely helped the original Avengers defeat him.
Marvel Studios' Loki season 2 finally answered an 11-year-old MCU mystery surrounding the Infinity Stones and Loki's role in The Avengers' Battle of New York. This post contains spoilers for "Loki" season 2, episode 2.
Out of all heroes and villains inhabiting the MCU, Tom Hiddleston's Loki has arguably become the most three-dimensional and fully realized character. In his first introduction in "Thor," Loki yearned to be accepted as a true Asgardian, only to find out that he was actually the son of the leader of the Frost Giants, the sworn enemy of Asgard. After starting a fight with Hulk, Captain America, and Iron Man in "The Avengers" and attacking Manhattan with an alien army, Loki supposedly gets what he wants in "Thor: The Dark World" when he finally sits on the throne to rule after deceiving his own people. He seemed to show some growth in season 1 of "Loki," but his past comes back to haunt him in the second episode of "Loki" season 2. As a result, the god of mischief has something of a personality crisis.

We also learned, of course, that the agents and hunters from the Tva were all variants taken from their real lives to work there, with their memories erased.
Everyone has reacted differently after Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Mobius, and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) broke the façade wide open. B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) is angry and sad about what she's lost. Loki and Mobius hit the darkened streets of the Sacred Timeline in episode two of Marvel’s Loki, as they attempt to track down Sylvie by tracing the movements of a Tva deserter.

Also refreshing is Casal as the arrogant X-5 aka Brad, and his “mummy’s boy” attitude makes him supremely punchable. When Loki and Mobius finally haul his ass back to the Tva, it creates an interesting dynamic in the interrogation room. Loki Season 2's minor villain, Hunter X-05, lacks likability and may serve as comic relief as Sylvie outsmarts him. Dox's hardened demeanor suggests that she may be a meanspirited villain rather than a reformed character. Mobius, portrayed by Owen Wilson, is among the show's best highlights with his comically calm demeanor and palpable chemistry with Loki.
Loki is filled with interesting and complex characters, but they don't all quite stand out as iconic to the same degree. It is the sign of a great show when all of the characters strike a chord in their own way and can be likable even when they're villainous. The MCU is already awash with such characters, but Loki has substantially bolstered that lineup.

The show may explore the concept of timeslipping and its implications for the MCU timeline, potentially revealing multiple alternate realities and how they are interconnected. The inclusion of characters like Zaniac and Victor Timely can also provide further context for Loki's continuity.
The Loki Season 2 trailer brought interesting revelations -- and not just about Loki's fate after the murder of He Who Remains by Sylvie. The clip revealed that upcoming episodes will feature Loki and Mobius going through multiple time periods and potentially alternate realities to fix the "sacred timeline."
As per Screen Rant, Marvel Studios screened a clip from the series during the D23 Expo, which confirmed that Loki Season 2 will continue right after Season 1's cliffhanger. The aforementioned footage reportedly established that the timeline has now branched into an alternate reality.

Loki, along with additional Marvel Studios original series on Dinsey+, has stepped farther away from Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, challenging what is possible for Phase 4 and beyond. The first season left the series if not the future of the Marvel Universe, open for a multiverse that will enable the expansion of new characters and new worlds. The second season of Loki was only vaguely teased in the post-credit sequence following the end of the season one finale, followed by a post-credit teaser at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Fans have finally been greeted with a trailer for the second season. Season 2 is quickly approaching, and there are still many questions regarding what is in store.

Sylvie's tragic past is paid off in Loki season 2 after she kills the McU's first Kang - He Who Remains Loki producer Kevin Wright explains that Sylvie now has the opportunity to live a normal life after her revenge mission, experiencing things she has never had before, hence why she chooses to work at McDonald's. While Sylvie's actions in season 1 made her a tricky character to navigate, she is not portrayed as a traditional villain and may become a more predictable ally for Loki and Mobius in season 2.
Sylvie’s tragic past is perfectly paid off in Loki season 2 after she kills the MCU’s first Kang. Joining Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson as Loki and Mobius is Sophia di Martino, who is also reprising her character as Sylvie. Loki has always been a character misperceived by the audiences as someone who doesn't care about others and only wants to conquer and rule the Earth. It is backed by the fact that he was constantly vying for the throne of Asgard and even attempted to kill Thor several times. However, Disney+'s Loki has brought a different and better version of this character to the limelight, as we witnessed Loki change dramatically throughout its runtime.
It was a great topic to address because Loki's sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame to save Thor was a true demonstration of the god of mischief's poignant nature. With Loki being one of the few successful Marvel series in Phase 4, many fans expect the second season to be substantially more intriguing and enjoyable.
Given how the characters also played a significant part in the first season's success, we have a strong reason to believe that...

Loki season 2 will feature a new villain, Zaniac, whose story is tied to Doctor Strange's first MCU antagonist, Dormammu. In the comics, Loki's new villain is a demoniac entity sent from the Dark Dimension by Dormammu that chooses hosts on Earth. The inclusion of Zaniac in Loki season 2 and the introduction of Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness suggest that the MCU is setting up Dormammu's return and the exploration of the Dark Dimension in Phase 6.
Loki season 2’s new villain is tied to Doctor Strange through one of the most powerful Marvel characters that the MCU misused. While Loki season 2 will deal with the multiverse and Victor Timely, Kang the Conqueror is not the only villain the show will feature. Considering that the MCU’s Kang story is supposed to lead into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, Kang’s role in Loki...

With the MCU dropping the ball with each of its projects nowadays, it is ironically once again up to the god of mischief to set things in perfect order by building on the multiversal stakes. The necessity to posit Kang the Conqueror as a legitimate threat to the Multiverse saga rested upon Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and now, after its spectacular failure, the responsibility lies with the second season of the Disney+ series Loki, where the MCU’s version of Kang was first introduced in 2021. In this context, it’s also a neat coincidence that both the prime cosmic-level antagonists of the overarching narrative chapters of the MCU, Thanos in the Infinity Saga and Kang in the Multiverse Saga, were introduced through Loki, which really emphasizes how integral this oddball of a character is to the grand plan of the MCU. Now that the second trailer of the second...
