Moana Live-Action Remake Gets Exciting Filming Update Ahead of Moana 2 Release

Moana premiered in 2016 and until 2023, there were no details on how the story would continue. In April 2023, Dwayne Johnson confirmed there would be a live-action remake of the beloved animated film, which has now received an exciting update.
Per reelnewshawaii, production on the Moana live-action remake has wrapped. Johnson confirmed in February this year they cast an actress for the titular role, as Auli'i Cravalho, who voiced the character in the animated film, didn't reprise the role in the live-action version. The movie kicked off production in Hawaii and Atlanta on Aug. 2, under the working title Canon.
