Daniel Larusso's memories of Mr. Miyagi have been rocked by Cobra Kai season 6's revelations that Daniel-san's beloved sensei had a secret past he never mentioned. Worse for Larusso is learning that Mr. Miyagi competed in the Sekai Taikai tournament in the 1940s and killed his opponent. But could Julie Pierce know better?

During a trip to Boston in 1994, ten years in the timeline after The Karate Kid, Mr. Miyagi met Julie. the granddaughter of his deceased friend from World War II. Miyagi helped the orphaned Julie cope with her anger and honed her natural skills with Miyagi-Do karate.
