Netflix Adds the Final Cut of 'Blade Runner'
Many directors' films end up with multiple versions as a result of studio intervention, international re-cuts, or re-released director's cuts. Ridley Scott is certainly one of those filmmakers, having created different director's cuts for 10 movies throughout his career — Robin Hood, Alien, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster, The Martian, Gladiator, The Counselor, Legend, Kingdom of Heaven, and, perhaps most controversially, his sci-fi masterpiece, 1982's Blade Runner. The 1992 re-edit of the film is, despite some controversy, widely considered to be one of the greatest director's cuts of all time, eliminating certain things and inserting others (the unicorn dream) in order to create more metaphysical mystery and ambiguity. But that wasn't the only director's cut of Blade Runner.
