'I Was on That Show Before Some of Them Were Born': Jack Black on Hosting SNL for First Time in 20 Years
It’s been two decades since actor-comedian-musician Jack Black graced the Saturday Night Livestage as host of the late-night mainstay, and he thinks that’s “cray cray.” Black will host SNL on April 5, one day after his newest film, A Minecraft Movie, hits movie theaters.
Black last hosted SNL on Dec. 17, 2005, while promoting Peter Jackson’s King Kong. Speaking with Variety, Black talked about how he’s preparing for his upcoming hosting gig. “Just you know, having lots of nightmares and night terrors and also fond memories flooding back. It’s crazy, very exciting,” he told the outlet.
The Kung Fu Panda star will be joined by two musical guests as he hosts SNL. Elton John and Brandi Carlile will be featured on the show in a joint appearance which marks John’s first time on the show since hosting in 2011.
