Following the release of the now cherished and somewhat infamous release of The Snyder Cut, fans have a newfound interest in alternate cuts of major comic book movie blockbusters. One of the most discussed is Joel Schumacher’s cut of 1995’s Batman Forever. Dubbed The Schumacher Cut, the filmmaker’s original vision for the Batman outing has now received some hugely exciting release news.
To celebrate the DC movie’s 30th anniversary, The Schumacher Cut of Batman Forever is set to be screened in a movie theater in Los Angeles on May 29, with the theater stating that the screening will be available to “Monthly members only!” with “Extremely Limited Seating!” While this showing of The Schumacher Cut is clearly extremely restricted, it surely marks good news for a potential wide release of the coveted director’s cut.
