• Mr. and Mrs. Smith is Hitchcock's only addition to the genre of screwball comedy. The plot revolves around the couple of the title, who are informed that their marriage is no longer legal, and that they must re-wed. This is my own personal favourite of the director's films: funny and well-shot, with Montgomery in a league of his own. The movie's only real flaw is Jack Carson, surprisingly poor in a well-written role.

That aside, the film is fantastic! **** out of ****
