Stumbling upon the 2006 comedy "Car Babes" here in 2025 without ever having heard about the movie, of course I opted to check it out.
Writers Blake Dirickson, Nick Fumia and Chris Wolf put together a fair enough script. I mean, it was suitable for a single viewing, but that was about it. The narrative in the movie was a bit slow paced, and it wasn't really all that funny when it comes down to it. I don't think I was brought to laughing a single time throughout the course of the 90 minutes that the movie ran for, but there were some enjoyable moments in the story. I think what failed in the movie was the character gallery, as it was generally just one-dimensional characters that you didn't really care much for, nor got to know really.
There were a couple of familiar faces on the cast list, with the likes of Jon Gries, Blake Clark and Marshall Manesh. The acting performances in the movie were fair.
The movie was watchable, sure, but it was hardly an outstanding comedy. And it isn't a movie that warrants more than just a single viewing. If you enjoy comedies, then I wouldn't exactly recommend you to rush out and get to watch "Car Babes".
My rating of director's Nick Fumia and Chris Wolf's 2006 comedy "Car Babes" lands on a four out of ten stars.
