• With that title, LOST IN THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE certainly has promise. In my opinion there are too few fictional films dealing with the infamous area of the sea where so many planes and ships have been lost. Plenty of documentaries, yes, but not enough full-fledged movies.

Unfortunately this dull family drama hardly rights the balance, because LOST IN THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE is an almost entirely worthless production. A late '90s-era TV movie, it tells the tragic tale of a couple whose life is thrown into chaos when the wife falls pregnant and is diagnosed with cancer at the same time. A yacht trip to Bermuda is in order, but the pair are caught in a storm and the wife vanishes.

A promising opening maybe, but what follows is almost entirely without incident. The husband employs a couple of nobodies to sail around searching for his wife for a while, while some detectives conduct a half-assed investigation into the disappearance. It ends with the silliest, cheesiest scene ever, full of plot holes that ultimately scupper the entire movie. The sci-fi elements of the plot are limited to a couple of cheesy electrical effects while the acting and calibre of the script are strictly bottom level.
