• It is the characterization and the good acting that gives this picture a high place among the offerings of today. The "unwelcome guest" is the father who is poor and too old to look out for himself, so is brought to the son's home to work with the slavey and is half starved. These two characters (taken by W. Christie Miller and "Little Mary'') are the center of the picture's interest and, especially the former, are drawn with assurance and imagination. It is an offering with a good deal of punch and held the audience's attention strongly. The photography is of excellent quality. - The Moving Picture World, March 29, 1913
