• ER doctor Olivia Moore (Rose McIver) lives in Seattle with boyfriend Major Lilywhite (Robert Buckley). Her roommate best friend Peyton Charles (Aly Michalka) is an ADA. She reluctantly accepts an invite to a yacht party. It goes badly when party goers take a new drug. Olivia is scratched turning her into a zombie. She turns pale with an insatiable hunger for brains. She gets a new job at the morgue for the unlimited brain supply. Eating them imbues her with the dead's personality and memories. With her new powers, she works cases with co-worker Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli) and police detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin). Blaine DeBeers (David Anders) is a criminal zombie.

It's a great premise for a traditional police procedural and a great way for Rose McIver to have fun playing different personalities. It's loads of fun and she gathers a nice Scooby gang of her own. The show tries to expand the universe and thereby runs into some problems. Once the world expands, it's hard to contract it again. It becomes a post-post-apocalyptic scenario and that's a lot to take on. At times, it's a little clunky. At other times, it asks some interesting questions. Overall, this show has great characters, nice actors, and an interesting premise that the creator is willing to play with. That's the most that could be asked of these young-adult-oriented CW shows.
