Arrow began the Arrowverse, one of the most popular TV superhero universes. Unfortunately some of its spin-offs aren't the best, however, Arrow remains a pretty solid show. Arrow is pretty weird because it got pretty good, then got kind of crappy, then got great again, then got crappy, and finally got good again.
Season 1 started off pretty good. It was more villain-of-the-week setup than I would have liked but overall had a good season long storyline and a good origin story.
Season 2 was amazing with a great villain and expanding on many of the great ideas from season 1.
Season 3 still amazing the villain not as good but I like the League of Assassins storyline and the expansion of the team.
Season 4 would be considered the dark ages of Arrow. The villain, Damien Dahrk, was way too powerful for team arrow, Felicity got way too much air time and was very annoying, there was lots of unnecessary drama, and the finale was just a slap in the face to fans.
Season 5 was when Arrow rose from the ashes and became great again. The villain was superb, I love the new team arrow, and the tone of the show got dark again. Peak arrow here!
Season 6 I also really loved. The villains of the season were really great (Michael Emerson made Cayden James great), the fight scenes were pretty great, just an overall solid season.
Season 7 started off great with the prison storyline, then declined in quality with the new villain, Emiko Queen. She wasn't really a physical threat to Oliver and I didn't really like her character.
Season 8 felt like a road trip through the best parts of Arrow. We got an episode that was a tribute to season 1 (and took place on Earth-2), a Hong Kong episode, an island that took the team back to the island. Just wonderful. Oliver's death in crisis was handled really well. I kind of hope they don't make the spin off Green Arrow and the Canaries since the backdoor pilot episode wasn't that great.
This show is definitely worth it if you can deal with season 4. I gave it a 9/10 since this season is pretty bad and the first season started off slow. Other than that great show.
