This is so unique that even if you don't like it, it's worth watching. It's a 1989 movie but in its way, it is "foreshadowing" the 90's. To be more precise, this definitely was a big influence for 90's indie cinema. It's weird but simultaneously "warm hearted" and appealing. Every character here is likeable, and the "murderer" even more. I can't rate it higher because it's not mindblowing or very interesting, i mean, it's a simple story and the characters are not that multilayered. However, i could easily watch another movie with the same exactly characters just interacting with each other. I am gonna watch other Hartley movies for sure.
