• Alice in Terrorland presents an interesting twist on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The film, as should be expected by the title, is darker than Carroll's original tale. I thought the scenery/locations, etc. Were well done. I liked the Grandmother/Granddaughter storyline, which is not standard fare for films based on Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. I thought Lizzy Willis' performance as Alice was very good. And, as usual, Jon Paul Gates did not disappoint as the Mad Hatter. IMO his portrayal of deranged, evil, maniacal, and creepy characters is among the best. Some might be disappointed in the lack of true terror/blood and guts. But I much prefer the psychological thriller genre so it was right up my alley in that respect.
