    Jack Buchanan was in the UK top ten box office stars list,3 years running in the late thirties. He is virtually unknown today.

    In this film he plays a Lord sent to New York to collect money from a family auction of art. Unfortunately the bank upon which the cheque is written goes bust and he is penniless. Fortunately he meets an old family retainer, Ronald Squires,who is employed by banker James Carew, He manages to get Jack employed as a footman. Jack falls for Carew's daughter,Fay Wray.

    A dinner party is attended by his brother ,Fred Emney,who doesn't recognise Jack.

    Carew announces that his bank has taken over the failed bank and deposited will get their money. Fay accepts Jack's proposal of marriage and it all ends happily.

    Jack sings two songs and dances to one.

    An entertaining period piece.
